Elizabeth Street Early Learning Centre

Every day is a new opportunity for discovery and growth at Elizabeth Street Early Learning Centre, which is rated exceeding in the National Quality Standard. With a range of resource-rich environments, including a community garden, a water pump, a creek bed, art atelier, and outdoor dining space, children are encouraged to explore and learn.

Children get out and about into the Sydney CBD on regular excursions, so we have a great connection with the surrounding community. Favourite locations amongst the children include Hyde Park, the Australian Museum, the library and our local fire station.

We are proud to have a diverse team of Educators and celebrate a variety of cultures and holidays throughout the year.

Our on-site cook prepares five nutritionally balanced meals using seasonal ingredients every day. To further explore food at the centre, our community-minded Educators and cook host weekly cooking classes for the children to enhance their understanding of good nutrition.

Helpful Information

Learn More About Our Centre

Elizabeth Street Early Learning Centre is an outdoor wonderland! The children love exploring our large sandpit and rocky river bed, and playing with our fun water pump. There are big outdoor umbrellas for picnics, undercover spaces for eating outside, and quiet spaces to relax and unwind under the trees. Whether it’s collecting rainwater for our indoor plants, observing the weather each day or going out to play in the warm sunshine, the children love stimulating their senses in our exciting outdoor environment. Our commitment to sustainability also means that we’re also constantly striving to reduce our environmental impact.

Inside, our custom-designed building is welcoming and spacious. There is always something happening – from library exchange programs to visits from local firefighters! Our beautiful nursery provides plenty of room for children to move around and explore.

Our long term educators are passionate about early learning, and are always open and respectful towards families. We take the time to get to know families and understand their world at home, so we can relate easily to each and every child in our care. Families can stay in touch with their child’s day through phone calls, and we are also happy to have a chat at pick up time about how their day went.

All five meals except breakfast are catered for by our professional and long term provider. Our nutritious menus are on an eight week cycle and also change every season, which means there are always a great variety of meals on offer. We also cater for all allergies and food intolerances.
