We love being part of the Guardian Torquay family. Centre Manager Tiff and team leaders Jess and Leonie have been brilliant with our two boys. All the support educators are also fantastic. We love the daily updates we get via the Storypark app, keeps us well informed on the activities and learnings. Our boys have learnt so much and have thrived under their care.

My oldest daughter has attended Guardian Torquay for over 3.5 years and my youngest daughter for 1 year. It feels like our second family! We are always warmly welcomed and the educators take the time to connect with both the kids and us parents!

The staff and centre managers are very accommodating, helpful and lovely with our kids. The outdoor spaces for the bigger kids are really engaging and fun. My children love the meals offered and are enjoying their days here.

My son has been going to Guardian for the past year and absolutely loves it there. I have worked at Guardian for 12 years.Over the years I have had the privilege of educating so many Torquay children and have met so many wonderful families who I still bump into out in the community today.I love working at Guardian Torquay as we have built an amazing family community within our Centre. I work with some wonderful dedicated Educators who have worked at the Centre long term as well and have made some great friendships.The thing I love most about working here is the children, watching them grow and being part of their learning journey as they achieve every milestone. When they say your name for the first time, listening to the funny conversations they have between themselves brightens up your day. There is never a day the same and being part of their lives is so very rewarding.

Welcome to our Centre
Guardian Childcare & Education Torquay (formerly Kids Club) is beautifully located by the beach, embracing the local community’s coastal surroundings via an amazing beach kinder program. Since the program launched in 2016, children in the Centre have the opportunity to explore the community and ignite their curiosity for nature and the environment. Guardian Torquay also runs a more formal Kindergarten Program, led by university qualified Teachers who will help prepare your child for the transition to primary school.

Rhythm of The Day
With endless possibilities, there’s never a dull moment at Guardian and no two days are the same. Here’s what a day at Guardian might look like. Please note, this will vary depending on centre opening hours.

Morning
Handover time with children, families and our friendly Educators. There’s a chance to share what’s important for the day and any news from home.

Breakfast time where families are welcome to stay and enjoy breakfast with the children.

An opportunity to play and discover with open-plan play in family groups and multi-age groupings.

Planned experiences. This is where the Guardian difference comes to life. Alongside our Educators your child’s exploration leads to learnings in numeracy, literacy, language, critical thinking, problem solving, leadership, social skills, technology, creative arts and much more.

Morning tea
An opportunity for children to come together for a healthy snack, often they help prepare their food alongside our carers and cook.

Mid-morning
Individually tailored to your child’s needs and curiosity the planned experiences continue, this includes both indoor and outdoor programs.

Lunch
Another nutritious meal expertly prepared by our cook. Families are invited to join the children for meals and excursions if they wish.

Afternoon
If your child wants to, or needs to sleep, it’s time to rest and recharge. For children who don’t need to rest the planned experiences continue, in most cases outdoors.

Afternoon tea
Another chance for the children to come together and re-fuel in small groups. There is also an opportunity to rest or play together and reflect on the day.

Pick-up
As you arrive to pick up your child, there’s a chance to speak with our Educators and share news about the day. Our Storypark App also allows you to stay in touch 24/7 wherever you are.

End of day
Your child is encouraged to grab a light snack before they leave the centre. We’re mindful of how routines vary, throughout the day if we notice your child looking tired food will be provided.

We pride ourselves in ensuring we build beautiful trusting relationships, not only with your children but with all of our families. We strive to make you and your child feel supported from the moment you begin your journey with us and aim to provide a positive transition into the Centre where your child will feel safe and nurtured, so that you feel confident and relaxed to leave your child in our care.
Our Educators take the time to provide families with up to date information on their child´s day and development progress. Our Educators are selected for their qualifications and expertise in the early childhood field and we pride ourselves on the quality of our care and the warm and secure learning environment we provide.
Your child’s learning and development will benefit greatly from the interaction with educators and other children at the centre. We make sure that our curriculum and school readiness program fits within the Commonwealth Government’s Early Years Learning Framework and National Quality Standards.
We cater our services at the centre to make life easier for our busy families. We provide nutritionally balanced meals prepared by our own chef in our centre kitchen. We also provide necessities such as nappies, sunscreen and bedding for nap times.
