Guardian Childcare & Education Mentone West

Guardian Childcare & Education Mentone West boasts a range of exciting, resource-rich environments, including a recently refurbished outdoor space with a creek bed, a water pump, a climbing fort, vegetable gardens and a range of age-specific play areas.

We have a loyal and long-standing team of Educators, some of whom have been with us for more than five years. Because of this dedication, our teams really get to know the families in our Guardian Mentone West community, and the children are incredibly comfortable with our team of educators and teachers.

At Guardian Mentone, West children are encouraged to explore and learn every day, with the added benefit of a Kindergarten Program led by quality teachers who are there to help prepare your child for the exciting transition to school.

We are proud to have a culturally diverse team and celebrate a variety of customs and holidays throughout the year. Our community-minded Educators also take the kinder children on regular excursions out into the Mentone West community. As part of this connection to the wider community, our ‘Wallaby’ class recently created a banner for the front fence to help spread the message of positivity in our community. Read more about this project on our blog.

Our on-site cook prepares five nutritionally balanced meals using seasonal ingredients every day. The children and Educators often collect vegetables from the gardens to add to the daily meals and use in cooking classes, which extends on the children’s knowledge about where their food comes from and encourages them to try new flavours.

Our Educators

Our team of Educators are committed and passionate about ensuring your child will be safe, nurtured and cared for every day. At Guardian, children are encouraged to engage in interest-led play that creates learning and meaningful experiences.

Our Educators seek to optimise diverse learning opportunities and implement the Curriculum as framed by the Early Years Learning Framework.

You and Your Child

All Guardian Centres provide a Centre-to-Family communication platform so families can maintain contact with their children’s experiences through photos, stories and learning outcomes.

Our Centres use Storypark and each family is provided with a secure login to access on their computers, mobiles or apps.

Learn More About Our Centre

Discover a clean, warm and welcoming family environment at Guardian Childcare & Education Mentone West. Our open-plan outdoor space features a climbing wall, five sandpits, a creek bed and undulating hills. It is ideal for babies to safely crawl and explore, toddlers to experiment with their emerging independence, and older children to run, jump and tumble to their hearts content.

The children love learning about environmental sustainability, and are taught how to plant in the garden and tend to our worm farms. We also grow and pick our own vegetables, which are turned into nutritious meals by our talented and popular chef.

The children look forward to guest visits from the local librarian, dentist and emergency services, but they particularly love special wildlife sessions where they can learn all about marine animals, farm animals and creepy crawlies! Families are always welcome to share their talents or professions with the children too.

As a new family at our early learning centre, tours of our premises and phone updates during those early days will ensure you have peace of mind that your child is in safe, loving and capable hands.

From orientation through to their last day with us, you can be assured of clear and open communication as we become trusted partners in your child’s learning journey.

We love hearing children tell their families all about their favourite experiences, the educators that helped them, and the interesting things they learned that day. Seeing them recount their day with energy, pride and enthusiasm is what we aim to achieve.

“Thanks again for the settling in sessions this week. I’m so incredibly happy with our decision to come to you, the centre feels so much like what we are at home – relaxed and calm, friendly and caring.”
– Alicia
