The team are exceptional educators who provide wonderful learning opportunities and activities for the kids, centre communication is excellent, health and safety policies are followed to the tee which results in very few sick days, and the facilities are always tidy and maintained. Our son is thriving in this service and we love the care and education he receives, it feels like everyday he comes home with a new skill or piece of knowledge. The educators are all welcoming and kind, and he has built strong connections with his primary educator, often giving us a huge rundown on how he spent time with “his” Miss Jess that day. The food provided is nutritional and tasty, given there’s often not a meal he doesn’t eat! The educators also foster the relationships each child creates with another, which provides so much relief at drop off when you can guide your child to their friends. We can’t rate the centre highly enough!

Our son has attended since he was 12mths old and is now in the Pre-Kindy program. The educators are friendly and welcoming to parents and children alike. I have found them to be very observant of his likes, dislikes etc and keep us updated regularly. We also LOVE their on-site Chef who provides a wide variety of delicious and nutritious meals throughout the day - I don't know what I'll do when I have to start packing school lunches! I recommend Guardian to anyone looking for a loving and supportive centre.

My son starts to go childcare since 5 months old. The place is very clean and they have very big nursery room which is very good. I can see the educators really care for my son. The only downside is that you need to fill out the form every single morning for them to be able to apply cream or medication on your kid ( it is inconvient because my son has eczma and he has to apply eczma cream everyday so i have to fill the form every morning) but overall im very happy.

Our child attends the Guardian Childcare at Augustine Heights and we adore this centre. The staff who care for our child are trusting, thoughtful, attentive, caring and encouraging. We have seen such growth in our little ones development both physical and mental thanks to the efforts put in by everyone there. The centre managers have always kept us informed with any changes and have been quick to assist us and answer any queries. I couldn't recommend this childcare enough. I look forward to hearing the adventures our little one has been on each day.

Welcome to our Centre

Guardian Childcare and Education Augustine Heights has the most incredible outdoor area that makes the most of the beautiful Queensland climate. The outdoor spaces are complete with a running creek, colourful gardens, water play, a worm farm, and natural play structures where children are encouraged to explore and learn.

The light-filled and open-plan Centre also hosts a number of parent information evenings and weekly training workshops for Educators throughout the year and we are proud to have a culturally diverse team who celebrate a variety of cultures and holidays.

At Guardian Augustine Heights, children and families have the added benefit of a leading kindergarten Program led by quality teachers who are there to help prepare your child for the exciting transition to school.

Children also get out and about on excursions into the wonderful local community, often visiting the neighbouring vet, local printing company and local law offices. These may seem like unusual choices for excursions, but they allow the children to understand their local community and to learn about the world around them.

Our engaging, resource-rich early childhood education environments include:

  • Passionate and experienced Educators and university-qualified Teachers who focus on relationships with children and families.
  • Beautifully designed learning spaces to inspire curiosity, fun, and a sense of belonging.
  • Nutritious meals and snacks are prepared fresh, on-site by our amazing Cooks and Chefs
  • We provide baby nappies, SPF 50+ sunscreen, high-quality formula, and bed linen.

At Augustine Heights, our local childcare approach ensures your family has access to high-quality education right in your community. We focus on building strong relationships with children and families, creating amazing learning environments tailored to every child and age group.

As a trusted local day care centre, Guardian Childcare and Education at Augustine Heights is committed to providing a safe, secure, and nurturing environment for babies, toddlers, and kindergarten-aged children. Our team follows best practices to deliver exceptional care and education.

Each of our learning programs is thoughtfully designed by experienced Educators to help children build social and emotional skills, as well as develop literacy, numeracy, and problem-solving abilities. These programs align with the Early Years Learning Framework, the National Quality Standards, and the Australian School Curriculum, preparing children for a lifelong love of learning.

Guardian Augustine Heights is led by Centre Manager Samantha:

“I’ve learnt that we have to truly believe in children and understand that they are capable and confident learners. As teachers, we have to make sure that we’re not giving children all the answers, and that we’re supporting them to investigate their environments and build their skills up. They really are just little people–they have emotions and feelings and it’s important as adults that we don’t forget that.”

Our on-site cook prepares five nutritionally balanced meals using seasonal ingredients every day. The open kitchen at Guardian Augustine Heights allows Simon and the children to happily chat throughout the day while he prepares their meals–including his famous homemade granola–and work with the children to plan what cooking experiences they’ll be doing each week.

As they progress, children will also have the chance to see the same familiar faces as they move on up from our nursery room, into our dedicated two-year kindergarten program, designed specifically to help prepare each child for a smooth transition from early learning to primary school.

The QLD Government offers funding to provide families at our centre up to 15 hours of free kindergarten a week. The funding off sets the fees for children who turn four years old by 30 June in the year before they attend primary school. This support is in addition to the CCS and can help to lower your out-of-pocket fees.

As part of our unique Visible Learning Program, families are able to gain an understanding of their child’s education. Our Learning Exchange Display provides the opportunity for our university-qualified Teachers and experienced Educators to share updates on your child’s progress. It is also a chance for you to have direct input and be involved in your child’s learning!

Families have access to our communication app Storypark, allowing us to share important Centre updates, as well as exciting activities or milestones–ensuring that you remain connected, day-to-day. If you’re looking to start the journey with a high-quality, child care Centre in Augustine Heights, book a tour now!

Meet our Centre Manager Samantha

“I believe that children are competent, capable, and resourceful adventurers as they navigate their learning journey.”

Where children are supported to be brave, curious, and bold in their learning, for the best possible start to life.

Rhythm of the Day

With endless possibilities, there’s never a dull moment at Guardian and no two days are the same. Here’s what a day at Guardian might look like.

With endless possibilities, there’s never a dull moment and no two days are the same.

Handover time with children, families and our friendly Educators. There's a chance for conversation to share what's important for the day/what's happened the night before at home.

Breakfast time where families are welcome to stay and enjoy breakfast with the children.

As children are arriving and families are coming and going, there's an opportunity for play as well as family grouping, open-plan play and multi-age grouping.

There's an opportunity for children to come together and enjoy morning tea.

Following morning tea, the planned experiences continue. This includes both indoor and outdoor programs.

There's an opportunity for children to come together for lunch. With an open-door policy, families are able to join the centre for meals and excursion if they wish.

For children who want to, or need to, there's an opportunity to sleep, rest or relax. For children who don't need to rest, there are planned experiences, which are more likely to be outdoors.

Children come together for afternoon tea in small groups or with siblings (they can also rest and play together, too). This time also presents an opportunity to reflect on the day.

As families arrive to pick up children, there's an opportunity to speak to Educators and share information about the day.

Some centres offer early tea or light snack at the end of the day, which they can grab as they leave the centre. We’re mindful of how routines vary at home, so if throughout the day, we notice children look tired, food will be provided.

Guardian Augustine Heights offers a welcoming, family-like environment in southwest Brisbane, providing high-quality childcare and education for children aged six weeks to six years. Our purpose-built outdoor space, accessible from every classroom, gives children plenty of room to run, ride, and explore.

At Guardian Augustine Heights, we create a nurturing and stimulating environment designed to inspire curiosity and creativity. From bright, engaging materials to carefully planned learning experiences, children are supported to discover the world around them in a safe and secure way. Our dedicated team of university-qualified Teachers and Educators focus on fostering social and emotional development through every stage of their early learning journey.

Whether you’re looking for daycare in Augustine Heights, a kindergarten in Augustine Heights, or childcare near Springfield Lakes, we offer flexible care to suit your family’s needs. Open from 6.30am to 6.30pm on weekdays, Guardian Augustine Heights ensures you have the freedom to choose the best drop-off and pick-up times for your schedule. We welcome families to explore our vibrant learning environment during these times and experience the supportive community we offer.

Our qualified Educators and Teachers can show you the various play materials and education spaces throughout the Centre to help you discover our approach to learning as well as support you continue the learning with activities at home. We encourage involving the whole family in their child’s care and education to ensure they are happy as they learn and grow.

Our family communication app, Storypark, provides you with photos and updates on your child throughout the day, offering you the opportunity to stay informed about your child’s early learning and development. We also set up different learning outcomes for the children through Storypark, which supports them in achieving developmental milestones and understanding new ideas.

For children aged three and four, we have a QLD government approved kindergarten program led by university-qualified Teachers that can support your child in their preparation for the step up into primary school. Our kindergarten curriculum is based on leading child development research and demonstrates our commitment to equip children with the social and emotional skills they need to thrive.

Our early childhood education program provides a nurturing environment where children explore and develop a love for learning. Led by specialist Educational Leaders, our program incorporates flexible, research-supported teaching methods to give children the best start in life. Our leading curriculum encourages discovery and is aligned with the National Quality Standard.

Through our high-quality, approved kindergarten program, children explore shapes, numbers, and letters through fun, play-based activities, gaining skills often introduced in early primary school. We focus on building each child’s literacy, numeracy, and social skills to help them feel confident and prepared for the transition to primary school.

Our long daycare program is designed to meet the unique needs of every child and their family. At our early learning centre, we celebrate and support each child’s cultural and family background, creating a nurturing environment where they can thrive during their early education journey.

We’re passionate about children’s nutrition, with our on-site cook preparing fresh, nutrient-packed meals tailored to children’s needs. We encourage children to get involved in food preparation, ask questions about where their food comes from, and explore the cultural heritage behind different dishes. This helps promote diversity and inclusion while fostering healthy eating habits from an early age.

As part of our Visible Learning Program, families are kept informed of their child’s progress. Our Learning Exchange Display allows Teachers and Educators to share updates while giving you the chance to directly contribute to your child’s learning experience.

Learning should be fun! Learning through play allows children to build their knowledge, develop confidence, and embrace curiosity.

Kindergarten Program

Our specialist two-year kindergarten/preschool program is led by degree qualified Teachers in a long day care setting. Children explore and understand their world in an environment of safety and security. It’s where they develop the foundational literacy and numeracy skills to thrive.

Out and about

Through excursions, children are supported to expand their world, to get to know their community, and have a sense of belonging. Their learning thrives when they feel safe, welcome, and that they belong.

STEM

Children discover the wonders of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics through age-appropriate activities that are designed to foster curiosity and develop foundational skills like problem-solving and creativity.

Cooking

Cooking experiences teach numeracy by counting ingredients, and weighing and measuring quantities and volume, while managing these tasks supports independence and confidence.

Ella Language

Learning languages through Early Learning Languages Australia (ELLA) supports brain development and social skills and creates opportunities to celebrate cultural diversity.

Joy of Reading

Reading aloud to children each day inspires imagination and supports thinking. Books with rhythm, rhyme and word patterns make stories more playful and memorable.

Sustainability

From growing veggies and foraging in the garden for that day’s meal ingredients to learning about recycling, children learn about being part of a community, connecting to their environment and understanding their impact on the world.
