Guardian Childcare & Education Augustine Heights

Guardian Childcare & Education Augustine Heights has the most incredible outdoor area that makes the most of the beautiful Queensland climate. The outdoor spaces are complete with a running creek, colourful gardens, water play, a worm farm, and natural play structures where children are encouraged to explore and learn.

The light-filled and open-plan Centre also hosts a number of parent information evenings and weekly training workshops for Educators throughout the year and we are proud to have a culturally diverse team who celebrate a variety of cultures and holidays.

At Guardian Augustine Heights, children and families have the added benefit of a leading Kindergarten Program led by quality teachers who are there to help prepare your child for the exciting transition to school.

Children are also fortunate to get out and about on excursions into the wonderful local community, often visiting the neighbouring vet, local printing company and local law offices. These may seem like unusual choices for excursions, but they allow the children to understand their local community and to learn about the world around them.

Guardian Augustine Heights is fortunate to be led by Centre Manager Meaghan who has been in the childcare sector for almost 35 years. Meaghan says:

“I’ve learnt that we have to truly believe in children, and understand that they are capable and confident learners. As teachers, we have to make sure that we’re not giving children all the answers, and that we’re supporting them to investigate their environments and build their skills up. They really are just little people – they have emotions and feelings and it’s important as adults that we don’t forget that.”

On-site cook, Simon, prepares five nutritionally balanced meals using seasonal ingredients every day. The open kitchen at Guardian Augustine Heights allows Simon and the children to happily chat throughout the day while he prepares their meals – including his famous homemade granola – and work with the children to plan what cooking experiences they’ll be doing each week.
