Meet our Centre Manager

I’m Meaghan Westwood and I am the Centre Manager at Guardian Early Learning Centre – Augustine Heights. I have been working in Early Education and Care for 31 years and believe the most rewarding part of being an early childhood professional is being a part of the child’s developmental journey and watching them grow into strong and capable human beings.

My role as an educator is to provide the tools for children to feel supported in their environment, to scaffold their learning and help them grow in self-confidence. I respect that each child is unique and will be at different developmental stages, therefore I will build a child’s circle of security and trust that they feel empowered to grow and learn.

I believe children learn through exploration and are naturally creative and curious.
Children’s ideas and interest are the pivotal starting pointing when developing curriculums, they allow educators to focus on children’s unique interests and ensure that learning is meaningful.

I love the family and community vibe of Augustine Heights, as well as the parklands and environment that support families with young children. I’m looking forward to developing even greater connections with our centre’s families and the local community.

When not at the centre I love to take off with my husband in our caravan any chance we get. I love cooking and have been known to teach the odd ballroom dance class!
