Welcome to our Centre

Guardian Childcare & Education Clayfield is a convenient choice for families looking for a child care centre in Clayfield close to home, or on their way to work in Brisbane CBD. Our Clayfield daycare centre boasts a range of engaging environments that inspire curiosity, including native gardens, a water pump, a creek bed, natural play structures and a range of age-specific play areas.

Guardian Clayfield is ideally located for families in surrounding suburbs near Hendra, Ascot, Hamilton and Albion.

These spaces encourage the children to explore and learn, with the added benefit of a two year Kindergarten Program led by quality teachers who are there to help prepare your child for the exciting transition to school.

The QLD Government offers funding to provide families at our centre up to 15 hours of free kindergarten a week. The funding off sets the fees for children who turn four years old by 30 June in the year before they attend primary school. This support is in addition to the CCS and can help to lower your out-of-pocket fees.

Children at our Clayfield early learning centre also have the opportunity to get out and about on excursions, so we have a great connection with the surrounding community. We visit local ‘attractions’ such as the nearby train station and the local fruit market.

Our Clayfield childcare centre offers:

  • Quality learning programs such as Joy of Reading, Cooking and Sustainability
  • Engaging indoor learning spaces full of quality educational resources
  • Expansive outdoor play spaces with native gardens, a water pump, a creek bed and natural play structures
  • On-site Chef providing fresh snacks and meals daily
  • Nappies, SPF 50+ sunscreen, high-quality formula and bed linen provided
  • Extended hours of care each weekday from 6:30am to 6:30pm

We are proud to have a culturally diverse team and celebrate a variety of cultures and holidays. As part of our community focus, we host family breakfast in our Clayfield day each morning.

At our childcare centre in Clayfield, the children enjoy delicious and nutritious meals, prepared on-site with fresh seasonal ingredients, every day. With a theatre-style kitchen and dining area, meals are always social and invite conversation around food and nutrition, which encourages the children to develop healthy eating habits for life.

As part of our unique Visible Learning Program, families have the chance to gain an in-depth understanding of their child’s learning. Easily accessible for families, our Learning Exchange Display provides the opportunity for our Teachers and Educators to share with you any updates on their progress every day. You will also have the chance to share with us your own personal goals and visions for us to implement, having direct input in your child’s educational journey!

Families are also given access to our family communication app Storypark, where we will share with you any significant updates in your child’s day, as well as any other important updates that happen in our Centre – ensuring that you’re always connected, even when you’re not here.

Meet our Centre Manager Louisa

"I want to create a centre that when children, families and educators look back on their experience here they feel love in their hearts, have a smile on face and can truly say they knew that I cared"

Where children are supported to be brave, curious, and bold in their learning, for the best possible start to life.

Rhythm of the Day

With endless possibilities, there’s never a dull moment at Guardian and no two days are the same. Here’s what a day at Guardian might look like.

With endless possibilities, there’s never a dull moment and no two days are the same.

Handover time with children, families and our friendly Educators. There's a chance for conversation to share what's important for the day/what's happened the night before at home.

Breakfast time where families are welcome to stay and enjoy breakfast with the children.

As children are arriving and families are coming and going, there's an opportunity for play as well as family grouping, open-plan play and multi-age grouping.

There's an opportunity for children to come together and enjoy morning tea.

Following morning tea, the planned experiences continue. This includes both indoor and outdoor programs.

There's an opportunity for children to come together for lunch. With an open-door policy, families are able to join the centre for meals and excursion if they wish.

For children who want to, or need to, there's an opportunity to sleep, rest or relax. For children who don't need to rest, there are planned experiences, which are more likely to be outdoors.

Children come together for afternoon tea in small groups or with siblings (they can also rest and play together, too). This time also presents an opportunity to reflect on the day.

As families arrive to pick up children, there's an opportunity to speak to Educators and share information about the day.

Some centres offer early tea or light snack at the end of the day, which they can grab as they leave the centre. We’re mindful of how routines vary at home, so if throughout the day, we notice children look tired, food will be provided.

Guardian Clayfield is open from 6.30am to 6.30pm every weekday, so each family are provided with plenty of flexibility for the hours they work and the time they choose to drop off and pick up their child. During drop-off or pick-up times, we encourage you to stay for a little while and spend some time exploring the learning environment.

Our Educators and Teachers can show you the various play materials and education spaces throughout the centre to help you discover our approach to learning as well as support you continue the learning with activities at home. We also set up different learning outcomes for the children through Storypark, which supports them in achieving developmental milestones and understanding new ideas.

For children aged three and four, we have a kindergarten program led by university-qualified Teachers that can support your child in their preparation for the step up into primary school. Our Clayfield kindergarten curriculum is based on leading child development research and demonstrates our commitment to providing the best possible start to life for your child through quality child care services.

Our early childhood education program is led by specialist Educational Leaders who guide teaching and learning in a flexible and research-supported way. The leading curriculum supports discovery and gives children the best start to life, as well as being aligned with the National Quality Standards.

Through our high-quality kindergarten program, children have the opportunity to learn some of the skills that are often only introduced in early primary school. We begin learning and exploring shapes, numbers and letters through fun, play-based activities.

We develop each child’s literacy and numeracy skills to help them feel confident and prepared during the challenging leap into primary school. Our high-quality program supports the needs and routines of each of our families, and we ensure each child’s cultural and family background is supported and encouraged.

We’re committed to children’s nutrition, and our on-site cook prepares each meal fresh and packed with all the nutrients that children need at their age. We encourage children to engage in food preparation and to ask questions about where their food comes from, why it’s good for them, and how they can eat it. We also encourage exploration of the cultural heritage behind different foods, helping promote diversity and inclusion from an early age.

As part of our unique Visible Learning Program, families will be able to gain an understanding of their child’s education. Our Learning Exchange Display will provide the opportunity for our Teachers and Educators to share updates on your child’s progress. Inclusive and supportive with a fabulous kindy program. What an absolute blessing it was to find this centre. After changing centres several times, we finally found a childcare where we were supported. My son felt safe and built solid relationships with staff all throughout the centre. We really felt all aspects of being, belonging and becoming. The gratitude I feel towards the staff at Guardian in Clayfield is more than I could ever find words to express. Thank you to all of the educators and management for working with me and my beautiful little Beau. Although our time there was short the impact is long lasting and ensured a smooth transition for us to school.

Making the move the guardian has been such a positive experience for our family. The level of care, organisation and overall communication has put our mind at ease knowing that our daughter is getting the best care possible.Positives:- The communication from management is superb, but also the communication through the story park app from the in room staff is so appreciated. I love knowing what activities happened that day, what the food was and how she slept.- The care shown by the educators, especially at difficult drop offs is really reassuring.- The change in behaviour and happiness of my daughter speaks more than words. We've noticed a massive improvement in her emotions and I feel like this is due to the level of care she is receiving.I'd highly recommend this daycare to friends and family based on this experience so far.
