We lived in the area for around 10 months and sent our son here during this time - he was in Nursery 1 and then 2 . We have moved away now and will be using a new daycare closer to home and I can't express how much we will miss the educators at Guardian Fullarton, especially Emily L, Lettuce and Georgia. Theyare so caring, passionate, nurturing and supportive - our son absolutely loves them and says their names on the way to and from daycare. He always has the biggest smile on his face when I go to pick him up and I feel confident and comfortable knowing he was in the best of hands. I'm so grateful for everything Guardian Fullarton did for our family - Rosalie you should be so proud, your team is 10/10.We will really miss Guardian and if we ever move back to the area, we hope to send our son there again.

We’ve been sending our 16mth old son here for 5 months and have been very happy with the care they provide. The educators are extremely caring & have passion and skill for what they do. It’s never an easy transition to childcare for the first time, for parents as well as little ones, and they made it easy for us. I have confidence leaving my son there. The food provided is all cooked on site and really great. The site is purpose built, with lovely big bright rooms. The play equipment and toys are also wonderful. The outdoor area is shaded, with large sandpits, and I love how they’ve got little vege boxes too, which they plant with the children. They do creative activities with the kids and I love the little photo updates on the app to show us some of what they’ve done.

Rhythm of the Day

With endless possibilities, there’s never a dull moment at Guardian and no two days are the same. Here’s what a day at Guardian might look like.

With endless possibilities, there’s never a dull moment and no two days are the same.

Handover time with children, families and our friendly Educators. There's a chance for conversation to share what's important for the day/what's happened the night before at home.

Breakfast time where families are welcome to stay and enjoy breakfast with the children.

As children are arriving and families are coming and going, there's an opportunity for play as well as family grouping, open-plan play and multi-age grouping.

There's an opportunity for children to come together and enjoy morning tea.

Following morning tea, the planned experiences continue. This includes both indoor and outdoor programs.

There's an opportunity for children to come together for lunch. With an open-door policy, families are able to join the centre for meals and excursion if they wish.

For children who want to, or need to, there's an opportunity to sleep, rest or relax. For children who don't need to rest, there are planned experiences, which are more likely to be outdoors.

Children come together for afternoon tea in small groups or with siblings (they can also rest and play together, too). This time also presents an opportunity to reflect on the day.

As families arrive to pick up children, there's an opportunity to speak to Educators and share information about the day.

Some centres offer early tea or light snack at the end of the day, which they can grab as they leave the centre. We’re mindful of how routines vary at home, so if throughout the day, we notice children look tired, food will be provided.

Learn More About Our Centre

Guardian Childcare and Education Fullarton offers the warmth and comfort of a family home, in inner-south Adelaide. Our purpose-built outdoor space is accessible from every classroom and has plenty of room in which to run, ride and explore.

Our spacious day care and child care centre provides a nurturing and stimulating environment for children aged six weeks to six years of age, supporting them to discover the world in a safe and secure way. The centre is filled with bright, stimulating materials that encourage children to explore and engage their curiosity to discover more about the exciting world around them.

Children are at our early learning centre (ELC) supported through those important early years to explore and develop their social and emotional skills through their early learning journey by a dedicated team of university-qualified Teachers and Educators. They create learning experiences in a nurturing environment that fosters creativity and imagination in a safe environment for young age groups.

Guardian Fullarton is open from 7.00am to 6.30pm every weekday, so each family are provided with plenty of flexibility for the hours they work and the time they choose to drop off and pick up their child. During drop-off or pick-up times, we encourage you to stay for a little while and spend some time exploring the learning environment.

Our Educators and Teachers at our child care centre in Adelaide are here to guide you through the various play materials and education spaces within the Centre. They’ll help you understand our learning approach and provide ideas for continuing activities at home. We believe in involving the whole family in their child’s care and education, ensuring children are happy as they learn and grow.

Through our family communication app, Storypark, you’ll receive photos and updates about your child throughout the day. This keeps you informed about their early learning and development progress. At our day care in Adelaide, we also use Storypark to set tailored learning outcomes for children, helping them achieve developmental milestones and explore new ideas.

For children aged three and four, we have a kindergarten program led by university-qualified Teachers that can support your child in their preparation for the step up into primary school. Our preschool curriculum is based on leading child development research and demonstrates our commitment to providing the best possible start to life for your child through quality child care services.

Our early childhood education program is led by specialist Educational Leaders who guide teaching and learning in a flexible and research-supported way. The leading curriculum supports discovery and gives children the best start to life, as well as being aligned with the National Quality Standard.

Through our high-quality preschool program, children have the opportunity to learn some of the skills that are often only introduced in early primary school. We begin learning and exploring shapes, numbers and letters through fun, play-based activities.

At Parkside Early Learning Centre, we focus on developing each child’s literacy and numeracy skills, ensuring they feel confident and ready for the leap into primary school. Our high-quality program is designed to support the routines and needs of every family, while celebrating and encouraging each child’s cultural and family background.

At Parkside Childcare, we’re committed to providing nutritious meals made fresh every day by our on-site cook, packed with all the essential nutrients children need. We actively involve children in food preparation, encouraging them to ask questions about where their food comes from, why it’s good for them, and how to enjoy it. We also explore the cultural heritage of different foods, promoting diversity and inclusion from a young age.

As part of the unique Visible Learning Program at our childcare in Fullarton, families gain valuable insight into their child’s education. Through our Learning Exchange Display, Teachers and Educators share updates on your child’s progress, while providing opportunities for you to engage and contribute directly to your child’s learning journey.

Learning should be fun! Learning through play allows children to build their knowledge, develop confidence, and embrace curiosity.

Preschool Program
Flying start to school

Our Flying Start to School preschool program is lead by degree qualified Teachers in a long day care setting. Our specialist two-year program is committed to supporting your child as they prepare for big school. We focus on nurturing their confidence, making friends and social emotional growth while also supporting their abilities in reading, writing, counting, and thinking skills. Whether it’s building with blocks, practicing their first letters, or learning to share with friends, every experience is carefully designed to support your child’s development.

Out and about

Through excursions, children are supported to expand their world, to get to know their community, and have a sense of belonging. Their learning thrives when they feel safe, welcome, and that they belong.

STEM

Children discover the wonders of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics through age-appropriate activities that are designed to foster curiosity and develop foundational skills like problem-solving and creativity.

Cooking

Cooking experiences teach numeracy by counting ingredients, and weighing and measuring quantities and volume, while managing these tasks supports independence and confidence.

Ella Language

Learning languages through Early Learning Languages Australia (ELLA) supports brain development and social skills and creates opportunities to celebrate cultural diversity.

Joy of Reading

Reading aloud to children each day inspires imagination and supports thinking. Books with rhythm, rhyme and word patterns make stories more playful and memorable.

Sustainability

From growing veggies and foraging in the garden for that day’s meal ingredients to learning about recycling, children learn about being part of a community, connecting to their environment and understanding their impact on the world.
