I am over the moon that I finally found a daycare in st Ives that I actually love, guardian is the 3rd daycare we have tried and I can honestly say it’s definitely the best. They have clear goals on what they are working on and have a in-depth understanding of your child and what your goals are for your child and they really support you in achieving this. The team are great and truly care about my son and this shows in his connections to the educators at Guardian.

My son attended Guardian St Ives and he loves every minute of it. All the Educators are lovely and pleasant. They make sure that all the kids will join the activities and they are quite observant on what my son loves to do. They have cooking, painting, water activities and so much more. The facility is new and great as well. I have decided to transfer my son full time in this childcare.

We’ve been with Guardian ELC since my eldest was 6months old and always been happy with their care and curriculum. St Ives blew our minds when we viewed the centre before it opened, such a huge space both indoor and outdoor for children to run around, beautifully decorated and educators have also been amazing. It’s been a smooth transition from previous centre and both girls are loving spending time here and they don’t want to come home!

Welcome to our Centre

Welcome to Guardian Childcare & Education St Ives, a new, purpose-built, spacious centre in Sydney’s upper north shore. Our early childhood education programs are focused on play-based learning, and the Centre provides a nurturing and safe environment for children aged six weeks to six years of age, supporting them to discover the world in a safe and secure way.

Our St Ives centre is conveniently situated for families living in surrounding suburbs Turramurra, North Turramurra, Warrawee, St Ives Chase, Gordon, Gordon Park, Killara and East Killara.

Easily accessible from Hunter Avenue and Eastern Arterial Road, our St Ives early learning centre is conveniently located near a number of bus stops, and we also offer undercover onsite parking; making it easier for families during pick up and drop off. Situated near Barra Brui Park, our St Ives day care centre is also in proximity to St Ives High School and St Ives Primary School, providing ample opportunities for excursions into the local community.

Our exciting and nurturing environment includes:

  • Beautifully designed modern indoor learning spaces to inspire wonder and curiosity in every child
  • Included programs such as Joy of Reading, Cooking, Outdoor Learning, Out & About Community Excursions, and Sustainability, with daily learning experiences designed to support your child’s development and growth
  • Extensive outdoor space for children to explore with age-appropriate equipment.
  • On-site Chef who cooks fresh, nutritious meals daily in our fully equipped kitchen.
  • For babies, the Centre provides nappies, SPF 50+ sunscreen, high-quality formula and bed linen.

Supported by a caring, dedicated team of University-qualified Teachers and Educators, our new St Ives day care centre is an inclusive and warm learning environment for children. A personalised approach to learning opportunities ensures each child is supported to be bold, creative, and curious throughout their learning journey.

We celebrate our multicultural team and families at Guardian St Ives with a variety of cultural events throughout the year.

Children attending our Centre will also have the chance to see the same familiar faces as they move on up from our nursery room, into our St Ives Preschool program, designed specifically to help prepare your child to transition from early learning to primary school.

Eligible children who turn 4 years old on or before 31 July 2024 will receive up to $2,110 in additional subsidies. This fee support is on top of any Child Care Subsidy eligible families may be receiving. If your child is 3 years old and not yet 4 years old on, or before 31 July in 2024 and is enrolled at our Centre, you will receive up to $500 in fee relief. Ask us for more information when you visit our Centre.

As part of our unique Visible Learning Program, families will also have the chance to gain an understanding of their child’s learning. Easily accessible for families, our Learning Exchange Display provides the opportunity for our Teachers and Educators to share with you any updates on their progress every day. You will also have the chance to share with us your own personal goals and visions for us to implement, having direct input in your child’s educational journey!

Families will also be given access to our family communication app Storypark, where we will share with you any significant updates in your child’s day, as well as any other important updates that happen in our centre – ensuring that you’re always connected, even when you’re not here.

Learn More About Our Centre

Guardian Childcare & Education St Ives is a welcoming environment for Canberra families in and around St Ives. The location is great for families in the surrounding suburbs of Turramurra, North Turramurra, Warrawee and St Ives.

We’re passionate about creating a safe and stimulating environment for children to explore and grow. Our dedicated team of university-qualified Teachers and Educators will work together with you to create the best learning experiences possible for your child.

At Guardian Childcare & Education St Ives we strive to provide the highest quality of education and care for your children. Our innovative teaching methods are designed to help our young learners develop their skills in a safe, fun and stimulating environment. We believe that early years learning should be creative and fun.

Our Educators and Teachers are warm and welcoming and are experienced in providing children with a safe, secure environment to grow and develop freely in their first few years. Our Centre features multiple spacious rooms filled with beautiful colours and natural lights. There are plenty of fun and stimulating materials around the Centre to keep the children engaged and to inspire them to explore their childcare environment.

We are dedicated to providing proper nutrition to children, and our on-site cook prepares fresh meals daily to ensure each child has the opportunity to develop positive healthy eating habits. Our Educators empower each child to become active in the food preparation process, and many of the children help select ingredients, ask our cook questions and learn about the various nutrients in each meal.

Our approach to early childhood education at Guardian Childcare & Education St Ives means your family has access to a high-quality education in a safe environment close to home. We’re about building strong relationships with children and families, ensuring we create amazing learning experiences for each child and age group.

We are committed to best practices in our child care Centre, ensuring a safe, secure, and inviting environment for babies, toddlers, and preschool-aged children in a long day care setting.

Each learning program is designed by experienced Educators and Teachers to support children in developing social and emotional skills, along with literacy, numeracy and problem-solving ability that prepares them for a life of learning. Our learning programs are aligned with the Early Years Learning Framework, the National Quality Standard, and the Australian School Curriculum.

Our family communication app, Storypark, provides our Educators and families with an opportunity to develop genuine reciprocal relationships. We regularly share images, videos, and messages about your child’s progress throughout the day, keeping you informed about your child’s growth, development and learning. We encourage families to use the Storypark app to develop ideas for continuing the learning at home.

For children aged three and four years, we have an amazing preschool program that runs with our long day care to help prepare them for their upcoming transitions into formal schooling. Our three-year-old program emphasises developing some of the social and communication skills that the children will use as they gain more independence. We encourage development in these areas through group play and some slightly more structured activities.

In four-year-old preschool, children further develop their communication, social and emotional skills, and they also begin exploring some numbers, shapes and phonics. We encourage children to practice reading simple sounds and words on their own, and we empower them through the learning process that comes with this. Through developing skills in these areas, children can feel more ready and confident as they begin their first year of primary school.

Guardian St Ives aims to provide children with a wide variety of experiences and learning opportunities, so we offer many different teaching programs throughout the week to help foster growth and development. Children are encouraged to interact with our on-site chef and engage in the cooking process themselves. They may choose to select some fresh ingredients to include in their meal, or they might like to practice serving up their food on their own.

Sustainability is another focus at our Centre, and we empower children to develop an understanding of recycling and other sustainable practices while developing a genuine passion and care for looking after our planet. Our Out & About program encourages children to spend more time playing outdoors in the fresh air and natural sunlight. We have a beautiful, spacious outdoor environment for the children to explore and practice engaging their imaginations and creativity.

We develop each child’s literacy and numeracy skills to help them feel confident and prepared during the challenging leap into primary school. Our program supports the needs and routines of each of our families, and we ensure each child’s cultural background is supported and encouraged.

As part of our unique Visible Learning Program, families will be able to gain an understanding of their child’s education. Our Learning Exchange Display will provide the opportunity for our Teachers and Educators to share updates on your child’s progress. It will also be a chance for you to have direct input into your child’s learning!

Why not come and meet the team and have a look around our childcare Centre today? We’d love to show you why Guardian St Ives is the perfect learning environment for your child. At Guardian, we believe that together, we can create life-long learners.

We look forward to welcoming you soon!
