After starting at another centre and struggling there for 7 weeks we made the decision to move to Flinders Street, somewhat apprehensive.Talia and the team assured as that despite our prior experience they were confident we could turn our childcare experience around and make it something positive for our whole family. They have not disappointed us! After an adjustment period our little one now arrives at care without so much as a tear and is happy and smiley when we collect her. It is like a family and we are so so pleased we were welcomed to the centre with open arms! We love Flinders Street and would recommend to anyone looking for a more personal touch from their childcare provider!

All the staff, especially Courtney Aschmalz being the hero at Guardian Flinders Street child care centre. Our eldest daughter, Anching who joined the centre when she turned 8 months and now she is almost 2 years 9 months. We’re so pleased with how they’re structured their learning & teaching style, engagement with kids and caring factor at all times being the top most thing we have found during the whole time. Our daughter talks about Courtney at home, even in dreams and so obsessed with her that she wanted to go to child care so she get some hugs from her… she also love other educators but seems that Courtney is her favourite among all. Anching always come home and talk about her day, and enjoyed every moment being in child care. We have recently enrolled our second daughter at the age of 6 months, and she is being cared by the staff very well. Thank you for Guardian flinders street staff for looking after our girls. There is no regrets whatsoever, recommend Guardian flinders street to any parents who are looking or thinking of sending their kids to child care.Sent from my iPhone

I honestly don't think it’s possible to find a better childcare centre! Talia and the team are always full of positive energy and you can see everyone in the team loves caring for the children and watching them develop and grow like they are their own!My daughter has grown so much independence and confidence and her social skill have excelled since starting at the centre 10 weeks ago.I love that it’s a small centre and the children get a lot of one on one attention. Every time I go to pick up my daughter a child is being cuddled or the children are surrounding the educators while a book is being read to them or they are playing a game.My daughter talks about Talia, Laura and Courtney like they are her best friends ❤️

My little boy has been here since he was 6 months old, and he now, he is almost 2 1/2 years old!! He loves every moment of it and always walk into the centre by himself, giving some of the educators a warm little hug along the way... and I love seeing him happy always around the educators and friends! Truly never a dull moment. The team has been great in helping me bringing up a beautiful happy boy. The education, the weekly pictures and updates, the outdoor activities super CUTE i must say, and just the team itself.. its a like BIG family.. and that itself is the most important value for me.. warm, caring, and strong bond...So, yes this is certainly an amazing centre!! Highly recommend it to any parents

An exceptional facility, located in the heart of the city, with caring, dedicated staff. Our little girl has been going to Guardian now for some time and and has progressed through the various stages, starting as a shy, reserved child downstairs to now wanting to go see her educators and friends upstairs with the ‘big kids’. Diverse, inclusive and supportive, Guardian Flinders Street is managed wonderfully by Talia and her team who forge lasting relationships with the children, create memories through their play and education and share outings and experiences in the city. Big shout out to Courtney and Laura who have supported our daughter and helped her thrive at Guardian. Could not recommend highly enough!

Our experience with Guardian Flinders street has always been fantastic. The space in each room is not only huge but warm and inviting with lots of resources and activities always set up for the kids. The menu sounds incredible and always has a nutritious variety of foods every day. My children have formed close relationships with their lovely educators and they are always informative when I pick them up to let me know how their day went.

Where do I start with expressing how happy we are with Guardian - Flinders St Childcare Centre?!Everyone kept telling me “you’ll know when you have found the right place, you’ll get a gut feeling”. I didn’t think it was going to happen. I questioned whether it was even going to happen for us - until we toured Flinders St. While I appreciate the centre may not be for those seeking lots of outdoor space, we LOVE the space that has been created and everything it offers our now 17 month old. We love that the outdoors has been brought inside. We love that Guardian focuses on excursions and the importance of creating community minded children by actually getting out and about into the local community.I had never heard of Guardian Childcare before we started looking and our experience has been nothing short of wonderful. Our daughter started at a different Guardian Childcare Centre (while we waited for a spot at Flinders St) and while she enjoyed her time there, and the centre was lovely, she has blossomed at Flinders St. Talia and her team make it so easy and stress free to leave our beloved in their care. The educators seem genuinely happy and engaged with the children and are warm and enthusiastic. I have often witnessed how wonderful they all are with the kids. Our daughter has created strong bonds with all the educators, also in part because of their model of care (yet another element of the centre that I love). Our daughter is excited to go to childcare and is gleeful as we walk towards the front door. What more could a parent ask for when it comes to childcare? And yet Flinders St keeps on impressing us and easing our anxieties about having our daughter in anyone’s care but our own.We also love that the centre is only approved for a smaller number of children compared to many other childcare centres we toured. We LOVE that photos are taken of the kids playing and learning, and it’s really special to receive those updates while at work. We are so impressed and appreciative of the digital capabilities of the educators (live streaming from NASA’s website, or the Adelaide Zoo?! Yes please!)It’s safe to say we are thrilled with our choice to send our daughter to Flinders St.

When we moved to Adelaide last year my Son was in a different centre, something happened that traumatised him. I took him to guardian on Flinders st and the girls have worked hard to gain his trust and help him get past his previous trauma. My son enjoys going to day care again and loves all the carers at the centre. Thalia is one of the most involved directors I have ever met. She has worked with me to help find solutions to over come my son's previous trauma. Everytime I see her she is in with the kids and the kids run to her for big hugs. I couldn't sing the praise of the centre enough.

The Flinders St team are nothing short of amazing. Our little man is always excited each and every day he walks in the door, and we're always receiving detailed progress updates on his development from the carers/educators. The facility itself is brilliant, super clean yet really warm and inviting, making a great space for inquisitive little people to learn and grow.

Highly experienced Educators and degree-qualified Teachers support children to grow and thrive.
Safe, secure environments that support children’s social and emotional development.
A specialist two-year kindergarten program that prepares children for school, with the benefits of long day care.

Guardian Childcare & Education Flinders Street is a light-filled and open-plan Centre with luscious indoor gardens, a creek bed, a treehouse, sandpits, and natural play structures. With multiple enclosed outdoor areas, art studios and music and movement programs, children are encouraged to explore and learn every day.
As the only inner-city childcare centre in Adelaide accepting children under 2.5 years of age, Guardian Flinders Street has a strong community, with many of our parents popping in on their breaks, or taking the children out to lunch at our local cafes.
Teachers and Educators at Guardian Flinders Street also provide wonderful learning programs for the children, including a leading Kindergarten Program for those preparing for the transition to primary school.
Guardian Flinders Street Centre Manager Talia is a huge advocate for connecting with children and families early in the education journey.
“I left lecturing to return to a centre format, as I missed the connection of working with children and families at this crucial stage of their learning journey. I love connecting with and supporting families and sharing their joy as their child grows and develops and builds the foundations of their own identity.”
Children also get out and about on excursions, so we have a great connection with the surrounding community. We visit a variety of locations, including the Botanic Gardens, Rundle Mall, Adelaide Sustainability Centre, and the museum. We are proud to have a community-minded and culturally diverse team who celebrate a variety of cultures and holidays throughout the year.
Our dedicated cook prepares five delicious and nutritious meals on site each day, using seasonal ingredients. To further explore food at the Centre, our Educators host regular hands-on cooking classes for the children to expand their taste buds and understanding of good nutrition.
Begin the adventure at Guardian Flinders Street today by booking a tour to explore the Centre, or chat with our team of Educators to learn more about our high-quality curriculum.
"I love connecting with families and sharing in their joy as their child grows and develops."
