Learn More About Our Centre expand_more
Guardian Childcare & Education Flinders Street is a modern early learning centre on Flinders Street in the Adelaide CBD. We have relationships with many of the local businesses and offices, making our Centre a safe and secure environment for children in working families.
For children aged four and five years, we have a preschool program that ties in with childcare to provide all the benefits of long day care while providing your child with the best possible preparation for primary school.
Some of the key benefits of our preschool program are:
• Your child will be developing fundamental skills and knowledge in a learning environment that responds to their needs in a changing world. This means that each child’s unique skills, stage of development, and challenges will be taken into consideration.
• Our preschool curriculum is based on world-leading research and best-practice teaching and deliver on the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and the National Quality Standards (NQS).
• The program is led by bachelor-degree Teachers and highly experienced educators, meaning you can feel confident that we understand your child, their development, and their learning.
At Guardian Flinders Street, we believe that strong connections with the local community are one of the most important aspects of child development and a quality education. We regularly take the children out on fun and adventurous excursions to the nearby attractions.
These excursions provide children with the opportunity to interact with the public in a safe and secure setting. Educators help children practice their social skills, build their confidence and develop their independence, ultimately boosting development and providing progress toward key milestones.
Our Centre is conveniently located in the heart of Adelaide city, with plenty of public transport nearby. We can provide the opportunity for families to spend some time with their children on the way to work, dropping them off as they get to the city rather than closer to home. You may also choose to visit your child throughout the day, and we welcome families to drop in and have a chat at lunchtime or at other stages throughout the day.
We make drop-offs and pick-up times a meaningful experience with learning opportunities and the chance to interact with families. These are great times for you to come into the Centre and take a look around the learning environment while exploring the various materials and activities we have for the children.
We’re proud to be a multicultural team, with Educators and Teachers who speak a wide variety of languages other than English. This helps to create a fair and inclusive environment where children feel free and empowered to be themselves and explore their own cultural identities. It also helps children develop an understanding of inclusion and respect for their peers’ differences.
We develop each child’s literacy and numeracy skills to help them feel confident and prepared during the challenging leap into primary school. Our program supports the needs and routines of each of our families, and we ensure each child’s cultural background is supported and encouraged.
As part of our unique Visible Learning Program, families will be able to gain an understanding of their child’s education. Our Learning Exchange Display will provide the opportunity for our Teachers and Educators to share updates on your child’s progress. It will also be a chance for you to have direct input into your child’s learning!
Families will have access to our communication app Storypark, allowing us to share important Centre updates, as well as exciting activities or milestones – ensuring that you remain connected, day-to-day.
