Take a Look Around

Welcome to our Centre
Welcome to Petit Early Learning Journey Elderslie, proudly owned by Guardian Childcare & Education!
Our Elderslie childcare centre in south west Sydney is modern, spacious and bright, and will quickly become your child’s home away from home. With expansive indoor and outdoor spaces to discover, our environment is safe and engaging for children aged 6 weeks – 6 years to explore the world around them.
Our early learning centre in Elderslie has seven beautiful learning studios, grouped by age, and a separate sleep room attached to the nursery. Each room is full of high quality educational resources for creative and collaborative play-based learning. We support each child to learn, grow and thrive so that they can develop a lifelong love of learning. Family input is encouraged at Petit ELJ Elderslie; families are a valued voice in our Centre!
Children attending our child care in Elderslie will have access to engaging, resource-rich environments, and:
• An individualised approach that caters for children’s ages, diverse cultural needs, and unique learning journeys
• Fresh, nutritious meals and snacks full of the best seasonal ingredients, prepared on-site by our very own Chef
• Ukubebe, Happy Feet, Soccer Joeys and Fun Fit Circus programs
• Nappies, wipes, bed linen, hats and sunscreen all included
Our Petit ELJ Elderslie preschool program has a strong focus on children’s social and emotional development. We support children to develop those skills needed to become confident, engaged learners as they move up to school. Through both structured and play-based learning, we let your child explore and learn in the way that’s best for them. Our Centre’s Preschool program is recognised by the Start Strong NSW Government initiative.
This program emphasises learning through play but also offers more structured learning opportunities for number concepts, pre-writing (e.g. tracing, completing patterns, reproducing patterns) and reading and writing skills.
Eligible children who turn 4 years old on or before 31 July 2024 will receive up to $2,110 in additional subsidies. This fee support is on top of any Child Care Subsidy eligible families may be receiving. If your child is 3 years old and not yet 4 years old on, or before 31 July in 2024 and is enrolled at our Centre, you will receive up to $500 in fee relief. Ask us for more information when you visit our Centre.
To further enrich your child’s early learning journey, we also plan age-appropriate incursions and excursions throughout the year.
We use family communication app Storypark, allowing us to share with you any important updates within the Centre, as well as exciting activities or milestones that your child encounters – ensuring that you always remain connected, day-to-day.

Rhythm of The Day
With endless possibilities, there’s never a dull moment at Guardian and no two days are the same. Here’s what a day at Guardian might look like. Please note, this will vary depending on centre opening hours.
-
Morning
Handover time with children, families and our friendly Educators. There's a chance for conversation to share what's important for the day/what's happened the night before at home.
-
Morning
Breakfast time where families are welcome to stay and enjoy breakfast with the children.
-
Morning
As children are arriving and families are coming and going, there's an opportunity for play as well as family grouping, open-plan play and multi-age grouping.
-
Morning
As the children come together, planned experiences begin. This is where the Guardian programs and practices come to life. Examples of learning include numeracy, literacy, language, critical thinking, problem solving, leadership, social skills, technology, science, creative arts, curiosity and more.
-
Morning
There's an opportunity for children to come together and enjoy morning tea.
-
Mid-morning
Following morning tea, the planned experiences continue. This includes both indoor and outdoor programs.
-
Afternoon
There's an opportunity for children to come together for lunch. With an open-door policy, families are able to join the centre for meals and excursion if they wish.
-
Afternoon
For children who want to, or need to, there's an opportunity to sleep, rest or relax. For children who don't need to rest, there are planned experiences, which are more likely to be outdoors.
-
Afternoon
Children come together for afternoon tea in small groups or with siblings (they can also rest and play together, too). This time also presents an opportunity to reflect on the day.
-
End of the day
As families arrive to pick up children, there's an opportunity to speak to Educators and share information about the day.
-
End of the day
Some centres offer early tea or light snack at the end of the day, which they can grab as they leave the centre. We’re mindful of how routines vary at home, so if throughout the day, we notice children look tired, food will be provided.
