Learn More About Our Centre expand_more
Guardian Childcare & Education Artarmon is a beautiful early learning centre that incorporates indoor and outdoor settings to provide a natural learning environment for children. Our Educators are warm, friendly, and inviting, and focused on creating a nurturing environment for each age group.
Our early learning centre provides a stimulating care and education environment for children aged six weeks to six years. Our Artarmon child care centre uses play-based learning to support each child’s progress that aligns with outcomes in the National Quality Framework for Early Childhood Education.
Our childcare centre is a part of the local community and we understand the importance of providing a stimulating environment for those important early years of a child’s life. Located on the lower north shore, our Centre is situated in a beautiful area just off the main road.
Families living in the northern suburbs of Sydney, including Artarmon, Lane Cove, Willoughby, St Leornards, Crows Nest and Chatswood can easily access Centre on the way to or from the CBD, relieving the stress for busy families looking for childcare nearby. The child care centre is also close to public transport and conveniently located for families on the north shore.
We understand the importance of providing quality early learning experiences for children in their formative years. Our passionate Educators love supporting children as they develop socially, intellectually and emotionally through those vital early years with a high-quality early education.
The centre also features a babies room, where our specialist nursery Educators support individual routines and secure attachments in a warm environment. Your child will love the indoor and outdoor learning environments, which encourage creativity and exploration and learning resources for all age groups.
The Artarmon early learning centre also has a herb garden that our Educators and children work on collaboratively to grow a variety of plants. Children are regularly given the chance to use these ingredients in our cooking activities.
We also have a fun and engaging water area, where children can explore the properties of water through play. In summer, this space can allow room for activities that can help cool the children down. The wooden cubby house is another popular attraction amongst the children, providing endless opportunities for imagination and pretending.
We invite families to come into the childcare centre at drop-off or pick-up time to spend some time chatting with our Educators, meeting all the children, and exploring our various learning environments. This is a great way for our Educators to develop their understanding of your child’s needs and find ways to provide the best possible early childhood education and childcare experience.
You can also speak to the team about how our curriculum supports how children learn, including school readiness for older children getting ready to start primary school. Why not ask about how you can take advantage of the Child Care Subsidy? Or how our professional kitchen serves up nutritious meals for growing children.
For our four and five-year-olds, we have a dedicated preschool program that can help promote the development of some skills and behaviours they’ll use moving into primary school. Many of our Kindergarten Teachers are university-qualified in early childhood education, meaning they have a strong understanding of early childhood development and learning.
Some of the benefits of our kindergarten curriculum are:
- Children are supported and guided through social and emotional development to help their sense of identity, communication skills, and wellbeing, and to build their confidence.
- We encourage children to explore their full creative potential, and we do this by making learning fun and engaging. Through using their creativity, children are empowered to develop their language skills, begin to understand numbers and shapes and become more independent.
- Our curriculum aims to invoke lifelong feelings of curiosity and a love of learning so that children continue to develop their skills, knowledge and understanding of the world throughout their life.
Our Educators are passionate about childcare and childhood development and work hard to find each child’s unique interests, passions, and talents to incorporate them into learning. We believe that no two days should be the same in those first few years, so our learning environment is constantly changing to provide new opportunities for exploration and engagement with children.
Our Artarmon childcare Centre welcomes babies as young as six weeks, and work with families through the age stages until finally preparing our older children for the exciting transition to primary school with our leading Preschool Program. In fact, we have an amazing Nursery Team that includes a ‘Baby Ambassador’ who specialises in the developmentally appropriate care and learning of babies. One-on-one time and cuddles are prioritised for your baby, with the security of always having a familiar Educator close by who knows your baby.
Communication with families is vital, so we use a family communication app called Storypark. It enables the Centre to provide real-time updates to families, which is important for you but also supports open communication between the Educators and the families. The focus is on providing children with plenty of opportunities and setting them up for a lifelong love of learning.
You’ll be kept up to date on our unique Visible Learning Program, which gives you a great understanding of your child’s learning for the day at pick-up. It will give you plenty to talk about with them on the drive home! With many of them being university-qualified, our team can connect with every child in a genuine and meaningful way to inspire curiosity and promote growth and development.
Our focus is on building strong relationships with each child and family, to create an atmosphere of safety and security to support children to develop a lifelong love of learning and self-confidence, all in a safe environment.
We also host fun events throughout the year which is a great way for our families to come together and have some fun. We look forward to welcoming you to our Centre soon! Why not book a tour to see the centre meet our highly qualified team and get to know the Centre Manager? We’d love to meet you and your family.
