I brought my little girl to Arthur Street ELC when she was 10 months old and her last day was when she was 2 year and 4 months old. It was such a hard decision for me to leave as I know whole heartedly that she loved spending time with the care workers and her friends. I am so grateful as I know she had the best start here! Everyday I could see how she developed, both emotionally and intellectually through open play and organised learning. Every day she could tell me something new that she had learned and every day she hugged and kissed the daycare workers goodbye while also telling some of the lucky ones that she loved them. At the begining it was hard for me, a first time mammy, leaving my little girl to work full time, but the staff were very good and I soon began to relax and trust in them. I could see how my little girl was settling in and how every day she was becoming that more confident thanks to the support and love from all the staff in Arthur Street ELC. I wish them love and best wishes in their respective future endeavours. I am very happy to recommend them and hope you have the same experience as my daughter and I had should you choose them to care for your own little ones. Thank you 🌺🌻🌼

What is unique about Arthur Street Centre is the concept of open plan. My child had been to 2 previous Centres (including one experience with Guardian in Wynyard) and Arthur Street provided my child the best environment for her development. I fell in love with the open kitchen where children can interact with the chef during breakfast and lunch. I believe this has aspired my child to play with kitchen toys at home and tried to "help" us cook. Niyati and her team are professional and caring to every child and taught them well to be discipline and be well behave among each other. This is the best thing about an open plan environment where everything needs to be shared.

The entire team at Guardian Childcare & Education Arthur Street are amazing. The dedicated staff of the Centre provided our daughter with a supportive, engaging, fun and caring environment. The open plan concept and giant sandpit was something that our daughter really enjoyed. The preschool has an excellent early learning program that goes well beyond numeracy and literacy and encourages other social skills such as sharing, respect, teamwork, problem solving and resilience. Our daughter especially enjoyed learning about contemporary issues such as caring for the environment, recycling and sustainability. Individuality is also celebrated and supported, and our daughter was encouraged to pursue her own learning interests that really brought out her creative side. She was also able to pick up new languages and enjoyed learning about other cultures. The school readiness program was instrumental in ensuring a smooth transition to Kindergarten for both our daughter and for us as parents. We are truly grateful for everyone at Arthur Street who played a part in our daughters learning journey.

This childcare center is the top 1 choice in my opinion. At the beginning I would not have any clue of how to put my daughter in Childcare, it is Niyati and her team who have done a great job to help me going through all the enrollment documents and even provide me the trial days for my daughter before the actual start. Surprisingly my daughter likes to stay there from the beginning, and I think this is all due to the fantastic staff that this center have, and the fun environment they have created.Another thing I like about this center is they always have kept a good record for each kid. Every day I can see when nappy is changed, when and what kind of food was fed, when and how long my daughter was slept, and at the end of day when I pick her up, the staff even provide a brief report to me about the day of my daughter! With photos and videos too!! It just amaze me how thorough they are.

What a fantastic centre. Caring, engaging, proactive, fun loving - the list of compliments for this superb team is endless. It is the educators who really make this place so remarkable. Our shy son has blossomed at Arthur Street, making his way from the nursery to a confident member of the toddler group. The open plan nature allows key mixing of different age groups which helps build social skills and education through observation. The centre is efficiently lead, involves the parent community with regular updates and events and most importantly - genuinely cares about its children. We can't thank you enough.

Love, love, love this childcare. I couldn't be happier with the way the staff have supported us and our son through the daunting transition of starting childcare for the first time.It is such a happy, caring and friendly environment and I've always felt welcome coming and going from Arthur Street. I feel that nothing is too much to ask and there is great initiative shown by the educators who go above and beyond. Some of my favourite things include: parents being welcome to have breakfast before leaving their children; the regular photo updates and ease of communication in person, by phone or by email; the open-plan environment that allows the kids to roam around and for children of different ages to play; the learning and fun opportunities we see the kids having; and the excursions.Above all, the staff we've come to know here are second-to-none. Their professionalism, friendliness and commitment to caring for our son has been exceptional and we're so grateful to them for making our first, challenging experience of leaving our son as smooth as possible. Thanks team!

Our son started going to Arthur Street when he was 8 months old for 1 day a week, we quickly increased it to 2 days a week and we finally realised that our son loved it so much he has been going to care for 5 days a week since he was 10 months old. If he could go on weekends he'd probably pull us out of bed to take him there. Best decision we made choosing this centre specifically.Niyati's team are AMAZING. Wonderful carers who put a lot of effort, time and energy into creating new activities on a daily basis for the kids. Our son loves it and we couldn't be happier. We also love that they daycare has an open plan where the kids can interact with one another regardless of the ages, and that they also have dedicated carers for each age group and where they do activities specific for the ages. Its been an incredible experience for our son and my husband and I have learnt a lot from them as well. I love that I can ask for advice on how to manage challenging behaviour and how best to implement them at home when our son is with us.I love that they take initiative as well when they recognised that our son didn't need a soother or was interested in trying to use the toilet, they would let us know and confirm if we were happy for them to continue assisting our son with developing new positive habits and breaking old habits. What I love even more is how they continue to keep us informed with capturing on their story park app all the things the kids do with not only pictures and videos but capturing in detail a post that describes what happened with the kids, who was involved and informing us what these activities do to help our son learn new skills and new ways of thinking. They have an amazing team of people and every day I can see how much each carer loves what they do.They also have an amazing meal plan where they introduce the kids to different kinds of foods themed across different cultures. My kid eats anything and I think its probably largely due to being introduced to all kinds of cultural foods. They also provide the kids healthy snacks, like cucumber, carrots, etc.I could go on on...we love Guardian Arthur Street and we're looking forward to two more years or more if we have more kids. Thanks for being an incredible team and for taking such amazing care of our kid.I don't have anything negative to say because we haven't experienced anything displeasing over the last year and a half of our son attending.

My son, now 2, started at Guardian ELC Arthur Street at 8 months old and his introduction to childcare could not have been better. The educators that have looked after and taught him since have been the most competent and caring people we could have asked for. They became like a second family for him and he would ask to go to daycare on the weekend to see his friends. What more could a parent want?! Niyati, the centre manager, is fantastic - so easy to talk to and completely engaged with the kids as well. The meals made by the cook at the centre were incredible and the environment itself is second to none. Huge sandpit, imaginative play areas, instruments and natural play set ups, and a lovely outdoor area with veggie garden. We've had to leave Arthur St due to a move and I've found that we have VERY large shoes to fill. A lot of the centres we have toured since haven't even been close to living up to Arthur St. I can't speak highly enough of the people there and know that any child would be lucky to become a part of their family.

Excellent staff and Director! We were supported every step of the way with our 11 month's transition into the service and long day care for the first time. Niyati, Paula and Seema warmly greet us each day and tailored a specific transition for our family. The open plan layout was a major draw card for us and we have found it is fostering our child's development positively every day. The staff have made the process pleasant and we both feel as parents peace of mind while we are at work and our child is in their care.

Lovely little learning centre perfect for kids who like running around and exploring. There's a big indoor sandpit and a smaller outdoor one. The staff are lovely and attentive and they provide some great activities for the kids. They've been such a great help with toilet training and if there's anything I wanted special attention with, they're happy to help. The centre manager is amazing, she's hands on, always smiling, always with the kids and really engaging with parents. She came in last year and transformed the whole centre into a great space with happy staff.

We moved to Sydney recently and were looking for casual care for our two little girls (18 months and 4.5 years). The center was happy to confirm their acceptance even before we arrived in Sydney. Since then our experience has been great, and we have opted to keep them on longer, even though it's a bit further from where we live. The teachers are lovely and the space is creatively set-up. It's a bit of a shame that the outdoor area is currently closed due to the construction, as this will be a great addition, but it seems as though it should be re-opened shortly.

This Pre-school is hands down the best childcare we have ever been to and had the pleasure of being apart of. It has been life changing in the best way possible due to the staff being so down to earth, fun, energetic, hands on and creative in ways I have never imagined possible. From the day we walked in to enrol our children we were welcomed with open arms and made to feel apart of this community and family. This childcare provides kids with everything they could possibly want or need. The facilities are fantastic and they are always upgrading and pouring money back into benefiting the children. The directors are so professional, happy to help in more ways than imaginable and super friendly, they don't just sit at a desk they are hands on with staff and children. This has been a life changing experience for the best for my children and our family and we are forever grateful we got to be apart of this. We are going to miss Nurture one so much and all the beautiful staff :)

My husband and I had a list of criteria for our daughter who was starting daycare for the first time at 14 months old. One of the things we wanted was open plan - mainly because we loved the interaction our daughter could get across rooms. When we visited centres that the kids were separated by age - we found the experience to be limited. Whereas now, we see our daughter enjoying and learning from the older kids. The centre director has been so compassionate and helpful with helping our daughter adjust. She spends plenty of time on the floor with the educators, children and parents. This has been very important for us - as we feel that we have a real relationship with her and the centre. We are not just a number. Finally, we love the programs "incursions" that are provided for the kids to learn. The centre has lots of areas for music, play and education. We could not be happier with our choice.

Learn More About Our Centre

A Day at Arthur Street ….

At Arthur Street our children, families and Educators begin their day with a family breakfast offered from 7am. Our family breakfasts have become a beautiful daily transition ritual where you are welcome to serve the first meal of the day to your child before you head off to work. There is a great vibe during this time as families often take the time to sit and chat with each other which creates a sense of community within the centre.

A familiar Educator from every age group is always ready to welcome your child as they begin their day. By incorporating playful elements and by beginning to establish a trusting relationship with you and your child, our Educators help your child to overcome any distress that they may experience in the initial days of settling into their new space.

Children are learning from birth. Each day there are a variety of experiences designed and planned to encourage our children to explore and learn. We know that play is powerful. As children engage in various play experiences, they will become confident to explore further and to wonder and learn about their world. Our Educators are close by, to support and promote strong positive dispositions for learning and to extend and deepen the learning that quality play experiences provide.

The open nature of learning environment encourages children to develop socially, play independently and also to collaborate with others as they explore, investigate, wonder and imagine. Children move with purpose across indoor and outdoor spaces, choosing and accessing different materials as they become inventors, investigators, scientist, chefs, artists and designers during their play.

Children’s health and wellbeing is our main priority at Arthur Street. Our chef has wonderful relationships with each child and encourages them to have positive associations with food. The four main nutritious meals of the day (breakfast, morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea) are progressive, served straight out of our open kitchen enabling the children to develop positive associations with food and respond to their bodily needs by making independent decisions around what they want to eat.

Our Educators support children as they participate in routines that are smooth, familiar and predictable and meet the needs of each individual child. Routines provide many opportunities for significant learning and for rest and relaxation throughout the day.

We know families want to hear about the learning and fun their children are having with us each day and we share this with you through our wonderful Storypark App. Each child has their own portfolio which is regularly added to by both families and Educators and a reflection with photos is also posted each day, capturing children’s learning across the centre.

These photos often provide a wonderful opportunity for families to communicate with their child about their day and are an invitation for families to have input and share ideas with Educators about their child’s learning and development by leaving a comment or posting a story or photo of their own. At the end of each day, an Educator is always available to share information about your child’s day.

Making the right choice in care and education for your little one is a big decision. Whether you are just starting to look, or are ready to secure a position, we will support you each step of the way.
