Guardian Childcare & Education Underwood

(Formerly Jacaranda)

Guardian Childcare & Education Underwood is one of more than 15 state-of-the-art Guardian Childcare Centres in Queensland. The Centre has a range of exciting, resource-rich environments including a spacious outdoor area with herb and vegetable gardens, an art studio, a water pump, a creek bed, a worm farm, and natural play structures where children are encouraged to play and learn.

The first five years of your child’s life are incredibly important when it comes to social and emotional development, and setting them up with a love of learning that lasts a lifetime. That’s why at Guardian Underwood we’re focused on teaching children how to learn versus just ticking a box. This approach to education comes to life in our Kindergarten Program, which is led by qualified teachers who are there to help prepare your child for the exciting transition to school.

Children get out and about on excursions, so we have a great connection with the surrounding community. We visit a variety of locations, including local parks, Bunnings, Big W and our local cafe for babyccinos. We are also proud to have a culturally diverse team and celebrate a variety of cultures and holidays throughout the year.

You can watch and listen to a reading of the beautiful lullaby ‘Inanay’, from the Torres Strait Islands, performed by our Teacher Milly Chong. The children and Centre community often sing this special and much-loved song during their Yarning Circle.

Our on-site cook at Guardian Underwood prepares nutritionally balanced meals using seasonal ingredients every day. To further explore food at the Centre, our Educators host weekly hands-on cooking classes for the children to enhance their understanding of good nutrition. Children can also enjoy their meals in the dedicated piazza while socialising with their peers and educators.

Learn More About Our Centre

Guardian Childcare & Education Underwood is a haven for exploring and researching. We have a large open playground that includes natural elements like grass, plants, sandstone, and wooden structures, complete with a water pump and pebbled dry creek bed.

Our little researchers are encouraged to explore, question and experiment to learn more about the world around them.

Our passionate team is committed to making every child and family member feel loved and supported in our home away from home environment. Most of our team have been with the centre for many years, which allows us to develop lasting relationships with the children, their families, and each other.

Our nutritionally planned meals change each season to take advantage of the freshest ingredients available. The children are not shy in requesting their favourite meals, and often ask their families to replicate them at home!

Our friendly team would love to tell you more about life at our new centre, so please contact us today.
