A Flying Start to School

You’ll forever remember your child’s first day at school. And you want your child to be ready for the move from preschool or kindergarten to school and beyond. Our two-year Flying Start to School program is based on supporting three to five-year-old children to become capable, independent learners and confident in who they are. These are the social and emotional foundations that prepare a child for a successful transition to school.

The perfect partnership for your child’s first steps to school:

  • Expert Educators: Degree-qualified Teachers nurture your child’s confidence, independence, and love of learning, setting them up for school success.
  • Proven programs: Our EYLF-based curriculum builds essential skills like problem-solving and resilience for a smooth transition to school.
  • Engaging resources: High-quality materials spark curiosity and creativity, making every day an exciting learning adventure.
  • Support for families: Long day care hours and holiday continuity provide flexibility and peace of mind.
  • A true partnership: Join a welcoming community where families and educators work together to support your child’s growth.

Learning should be fun.

Learning through play lets children explore and understand their world at their own pace, building knowledge, confidence, and curiosity. We create meaningful play experiences alongside structured learning to support language, literacy, and numeracy development.

The first year focuses on discovery, independence, and communication. At this age, children are eager to explore, share their ideas, and try things for themselves. We nurture their confidence and resilience in a safe, supportive space where they can make mistakes, try again, and celebrate their achievements as part of a group.

Year two shifts to developing a strong sense of identity and community. These children start thinking more deeply, caring about fairness, and understanding their role in the world. We provide a safe, engaging environment where they can take risks, solve problems, and express their ideas, helping them build complex thinking and communication skills for the next stage of life. Programs like I am Ready for School further support this journey, helping children prepare for a confident transition to school.

Our Flying Start to School program includes Development Pathways, which outline five key milestones in each area of your child’s growth. Throughout the year, our team observes and tracks progress, helping us understand and support your child’s unique development at their own pace.

A child’s learning is a partnership with families.

Communicating with families

The Storypark app puts you in your child’s learning space with photos, videos, and updates about your child throughout the day. You will feel like you are right there with your child.

Visible Learning

Learning Exchange Displays in each learning space and on the Storypark app show the educational program our Teachers have created to support your child’s learning and development.

Transition Statements

These are a summary of your child’s learning and development over time – a snapshot of their progress. We provide these to you towards the end of each year.

  • For 3–4-year-old children who are finishing their first year in our Flying Start to School program (and moving into our second year for 4-5-year-olds), we provide a Transition to Preschool/Kindergarten Statement (we share this with our Teaching Team too!).
  • For 4–5-year-old children who are moving to big school we provide you with a Transition to School Statement. This can be shared with your child’s new school. We know your child so well, and we want your child’s new Teacher at school to know them too!
