Learn More About Our Centre

Our Caringbah centre offers a range of experiences through our childcare program that we believe are important for any child’s development in their early years. Our curriculum is modeled on the National Early Learning Years Framework which recognises the incredible value of investing in the first five years of a child’s life and the vital role that educators play in developing the whole child.

We aim to cater for children’s individual routines by practicing consistency between families’ homes and centres and by talking to parents about changes as children grow.

We ensure that all children have the opportunity to achieve and experience a variety of developmentally appropriate activities in aesthetically pleasing environments designed for growing bodies and creative minds.

Meet our Centre Manager

My name is Peta Kiellor, and I am excited to have moved into the Centre Manager role here at Guardian Caringbah.

I began my journey into Early Childhood Education in 2012 by completing my traineeship. Since then, I have moved through the positions of room leader, Educational Leader, and Assistant Centre Manager here at Caringbah which I held from May 2016 until my appointment as Centre Manager in March 2018.

I currently hold my Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care and have just finished preparation units for my Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood) with plans to begin my degree in July 2018. I have also recently completed my Diploma of Leadership and Management, and hold full first aid, asthma & anaphylaxis, and CPR qualifications, as well as current child protection. In my spare time, I am mum to a wonderful little girl and enjoy volunteering with the NSW Rural Fire Service, where I hold Advanced Firefighter Qualifications.

My philosophy includes viewing children as capable, competent and committed individuals who are learning and creating an emerging understanding of our ever-changing world. My beliefs align with the theories of Urie Bronfenbrenner and Jean Piaget, supporting children to create links to their existing worlds in order to learn and grow. I believe children should be active and passionate participants in the emergence of their own learning environments, active contributors to the educational programs of the room, and be deeply involved in reflecting on their own learning.

As Loris Malaguzzi suggests, “Children need the freedom to appreciate the infinite resources of their hands and their eyes”.
