Welcome to Guardian Childcare & Education Hornsby, a modern, light-filled long daycare centre. Our childhood education programs are focused on play-based learning, where our spacious day care and child care centre provides a nurturing and stimulating environment for children aged six weeks to six years of age, supporting them to discover the world in a safe and secure way.

Rhythm of the Day
With endless possibilities, there’s never a dull moment at Guardian and no two days are the same. Here’s what a day at Guardian might look like.

Handover time with children, families and our friendly Educators. There's a chance for conversation to share what's important for the day/what's happened the night before at home.
Breakfast time where families are welcome to stay and enjoy breakfast with the children.
As children are arriving and families are coming and going, there's an opportunity for play as well as family grouping, open-plan play and multi-age grouping.
There's an opportunity for children to come together and enjoy morning tea.
Following morning tea, the planned experiences continue. This includes both indoor and outdoor programs.
There's an opportunity for children to come together for lunch. With an open-door policy, families are able to join the centre for meals and excursion if they wish.
For children who want to, or need to, there's an opportunity to sleep, rest or relax. For children who don't need to rest, there are planned experiences, which are more likely to be outdoors.
Children come together for afternoon tea in small groups or with siblings (they can also rest and play together, too). This time also presents an opportunity to reflect on the day.
As families arrive to pick up children, there's an opportunity to speak to Educators and share information about the day.
Some centres offer early tea or light snack at the end of the day, which they can grab as they leave the centre. We’re mindful of how routines vary at home, so if throughout the day, we notice children look tired, food will be provided.

Kindergarten/Preschool Program
Our specialist two-year kindergarten/preschool program is led by degree qualified Teachers in a long day care setting. Children explore and understand their world in an environment of safety and security. It’s where they develop the foundational literacy and numeracy skills to thrive.
Out and about
Through excursions, children are supported to expand their world, to get to know their community, and have a sense of belonging. Their learning thrives when they feel safe, welcome, and that they belong.
STEM
Children discover the wonders of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics through age-appropriate activities that are designed to foster curiosity and develop foundational skills like problem-solving and creativity.
Cooking
Cooking experiences teach numeracy by counting ingredients, and weighing and measuring quantities and volume, while managing these tasks supports independence and confidence.
Ella Language
Learning languages through Early Learning Languages Australia (ELLA) supports brain development and social skills and creates opportunities to celebrate cultural diversity.
Joy of Reading
Reading aloud to children each day inspires imagination and supports thinking. Books with rhythm, rhyme and word patterns make stories more playful and memorable.
Sustainability
From growing veggies and foraging in the garden for that day’s meal ingredients to learning about recycling, children learn about being part of a community, connecting to their environment and understanding their impact on the world.

We moved our toddler here a year ago and couldn't be happier with our choice. We have always had tough drop-offs with our little one but the staff have been caring, taking time to reassure us and make that process as easy as possible. Great educators who are kind, friendly and design creative and thoughtful activities for the kids. Excellent communication from staff.

The educators here are absolutely amazing ! As a first time mum I was so overwhelmed with different feelings when my son started day care but the stuff made every step of the way easier and were incredibly supportive of me and so caring of my son. I have seen them treat every child with so much respect and do their utmost to look after our kids. I’m so grateful I found this place. Thank you team for always working so hard to take care of our precious children ! 15/10 from me :)

I've been so pleased with my son's transition into Guardian Hornsby – he's come out of his shell and enjoys his days there, and I give full credit to the wonderful staff and the environment they've created. The large outdoor play area is such a bonus, and I always look forward to the regular Storypark updates where I can see the creative and well-thought-out activities the kids have been up to that day. I also appreciate the effort that goes in to producing the newsletter for parents, which provides tips and resources, community events, casual day availability, upcoming menus and more. A big thank you to Sophie and the team for all of your efforts.

I couldn’t recommend Guardian Hornsby more highly - it truly is an outstanding childcare centre. The staff are kind, engaging and creative and highly responsive to my child’s needs. The physical environment is wonderful inside and out, with a large covered outdoor space that can be utilised even during inclement weather. I was a bit anxious how my child would adjust to the new environment, having been timid to join in at their previous centre, but it was a seamless transition thanks to all of the carers. I’m greatly impressed with their daily activities including music sessions, sports, crafts, stories and useful skill development and can hardly believe how much my child participates as they actively include and support them. The centre director, Sophie, is a great leader. She was so helpful securing our place, has been flexible in accomodating our needs and always replies quickly to emails and is available on the phone. Thank you Guardian Hornsby!

This centre is honestly amazing. My daughter was struggling to settle into another centre so we moved her to Guardian Hornsby, and she absolutely loves it! The teachers are caring, nurturing, kind and patient, the centre managers are kind and always so helpful, they do numerous fun activities throughout the day, and the outside play area is awesome. So grateful to have found such a special place for our little girl.

The director and staff are AMAZING and they have a great space and do lots of awesome, fun stuff with the kids, including a great music program! My only tiny niggle is that the centre is fairly large, but then... still not as large as some.

The staff retention, the staff in general, the facilities and equipment and variety of toys and experiences the children have available to them have encouraged us to return to the centre with our second child long after our first child had finished up. The room set up is tricky in the existing building but the team make it work and both my boys have loved their time there.

My elder boy started from nursery room to the preschool room. Now he is in kindy and he still loves to visit his old buddies when we pick up his little brother from the daycare.The educators are professional and patient. They have lots of activities for children everyday. Plus the communication between parents and centre are very well. Feel me and my kids are in very good hands. Highly recommended!!

I have been working in this centre for more than eleven years, as an educator I am thankful of having this wonderful opportunity. Working in a friendly, supportive environment make me feel like this centre is my second home. We learn and share our experiences with the children. Such a lovely centre with amazing staff who are always ready to go above and beyond to make sure your child feels welcomed and cared for. This centre is one of the best centre in the area, with warmth and a family like atmosphere. I personally felt that my child increased dramatically in her confidence and development since attending over the last year. My 4 years old son is in the pre-school room at Guardian Hornsby. He is extremely shy so at the beginning it was a real challenge and struggle to get him to attend school. His room educators have been amazing and I can’t speak highly enough of them. They are very caring, nurturing and provided plenty of support to my son, in which he now really enjoys going to the centre. He is progressing well, having more interactions with other children. Natalie is the centre manager and she has also been very helpful and accommodating. She is easy to talk to and takes time to understand our situation. Natalie and the educators communicate with each other to assist us in anyway that they can. We are just so grateful to have found Guardian for our youngest member of the family, and I would highly recommend this centre to future families looking for childcare.

We were part of Bird House family for the last 4 years and were lucky to find this place. My kid loved the daycare and all her educators and made some amazing friends. Educators are very caring, enthusiastic and value the relationship with the child & their families. Would highly recommend this centre to any family!The educators and Manager are all so warm and welcoming, My daughter loves coming everyday!The communication is great from all the staff. They are very approachable to discuss anything about my daughter and I get to see all the activities they've been engaging in throughout the day daily on an app as well as regular updates on learning and development specific to my daughter.We love the great range in food too!We feel very lucky to have found such a great centre!
