We couldn't be happier with our experience at Guardian Childcare at Hornsby. Both of our children started here when they were under one year old, and it's been incredibly rewarding to watch them grow and thrive under the care of such dedicated and nurturing educators. The team has always created a warm, safe, and welcoming environment where our children felt loved, supported, and encouraged to learn. The educators genuinely care about every child and have played a significant role in their early development, helping them build confidence, independence, and social skills. We couldn’t be happier with the care and support our family has received from Guardian. The team have created such a welcoming, safe, and nurturing environment where our child has settled in beautifully and is so happy to attend each day. The educators are amazing and we appreciate the genuine care, encouragement, and support they provide. A special mention must go to Sophie, the Centre Manager. We are very happy with the overall experience. The educators are caring, supportive and genuinely invested in the children’s growth and wellbeing. We have been sending our eldest to Guardian Hornsby for over 2 years and when our second was ready, we had no hesitation! Sophie and her team treat the kids and us parents with kindess and respect. They develop the kids holistically and take the time and put in the effort to get to know what works best for each individual child. Our 2 children are very different and whilst the level of care has been the same, we have been very impressed with how the team continue to support and bring out the best in them. Thank you team, both our boys (and us parents) couldn't be happier.

I am so glad that my child attends Guardian Hornsby. Centre Manager Sophie is incredibly knowledgeable and professional, and the team is truly amazing. I feel welcomed and included at all times, and most importantly, my child loves going to daycare. The centre’s programs are inclusive and meaningful, and my girl’s absolute favourite is music time with Nicko!

I absolutely love this daycare! It’s the third one my little one has attended, and it might just be the best so far. The team is incredibly organized and always engaging the kids in a variety of fun and stimulating activities. Our experience at this daycare over the past two years has been wonderful. The staff are warm, attentive, and genuinely care for the children. We've seen great progress in our son's social and language development. I would highly recommend Guardian to other families.

I’m so glad to have found a childcare that genuinely cares for my daughter. The whole team is super friendly and easy to talk to, and I always feel in the loop with the regular updates they provide. It’s clear they really know her and understand her needs, which means a lot to my partner and I. Communication with both me and my partner has been great from day one. We'd been looking for a care center for our bub before he turned 1, and The Guardian Hornsby impressed us on first sight. My son has been going here since he was 11 months old, and has "graduated" from the nursery room to the toddler room with utmost care, warmth, and patience from the lovely carers. They go out of the way to ensure a child's wellbeing. Here is where my son learnt to walk, run, and eventually - jump :) Here is where my son learnt to self-serve when it comes to eating. He's explored the world of art, music, and play. Here is where my son learnt to make friends and connections - in the most precious years of his life! Sophie and team are always accommodating to various demands (both from parents and the bubs), and they're receptive to feedback too. My son looks forward to going to daycare every day, where he has made a real bond with everyone - other kids and educators included ❤️ Thank you, thank you, and - thank you ❤️

The staff are awesome. They truly are educators first and have helped us be better parents. They are constantly coming up with new programs and activities and make a point of including the kids interests. My son has loved anything to do with cars, but has discovered music and cats of all things that he also loves.

My son has been going there since he was 8 months old. I love the way the staff at the centre look after him, they are amazing. Enjoy reading about their day on Storypark app and also the pics of him and his friends having fun.

We moved our toddler here a year ago and couldn't be happier with our choice. We have always had tough drop-offs with our little one but the staff have been caring, taking time to reassure us and make that process as easy as possible. Great educators who are kind, friendly and design creative and thoughtful activities for the kids. Excellent communication from staff.

Guardian Childcare is an amazing place for young kids.The educators are extremely friendly and professional.They really make an effort to engage the kids and develop them in every possible way.I’ve seen lot of improvements in my son and he always looks forward to going there.I would recommend this daycare to anyone that is looking for a quality care.Thanks!

The educators here are absolutely amazing ! As a first time mum I was so overwhelmed with different feelings when my son started day care but the stuff made every step of the way easier and were incredibly supportive of me and so caring of my son. I have seen them treat every child with so much respect and do their utmost to look after our kids. I’m so grateful I found this place. Thank you team for always working so hard to take care of our precious children ! 15/10 from me :)

I've been so pleased with my son's transition into Guardian Hornsby – he's come out of his shell and enjoys his days there, and I give full credit to the wonderful staff and the environment they've created. The large outdoor play area is such a bonus, and I always look forward to the regular Storypark updates where I can see the creative and well-thought-out activities the kids have been up to that day. I also appreciate the effort that goes in to producing the newsletter for parents, which provides tips and resources, community events, casual day availability, upcoming menus and more. A big thank you to Sophie and the team for all of your efforts.

I couldn’t recommend Guardian Hornsby more highly - it truly is an outstanding childcare centre. The staff are kind, engaging and creative and highly responsive to my child’s needs. The physical environment is wonderful inside and out, with a large covered outdoor space that can be utilised even during inclement weather. I was a bit anxious how my child would adjust to the new environment, having been timid to join in at their previous centre, but it was a seamless transition thanks to all of the carers. I’m greatly impressed with their daily activities including music sessions, sports, crafts, stories and useful skill development and can hardly believe how much my child participates as they actively include and support them. The centre director, Sophie, is a great leader. She was so helpful securing our place, has been flexible in accomodating our needs and always replies quickly to emails and is available on the phone. Thank you Guardian Hornsby!

This centre is honestly amazing. My daughter was struggling to settle into another centre so we moved her to Guardian Hornsby, and she absolutely loves it! The teachers are caring, nurturing, kind and patient, the centre managers are kind and always so helpful, they do numerous fun activities throughout the day, and the outside play area is awesome. So grateful to have found such a special place for our little girl.

Rhythm of the Day

We know children and families like routine, so you will always receive a warm welcome each morning and an invitation to stay for breakfast. At the end of the day, a smooth transition is assured with your child’s belongings ready for you after a day that fulfils your child's interests and curiosity. In between, the day is filled with new and exciting experiences to engage young minds as part of their early childhood education. Here’s a glimpse of what a day of play-based learning at our childcare centre often looks like.

Morning

Breakfast time provides a great chance for you to share what is important and how your baby’s night at home was.

Mid-Morning

Your baby will enjoy engaging in both our indoor and outdoor nursery environments with planned experiences like songs and story time, followed by morning tea.

Middle of the Day

Your baby’s lunch times will suit their needs, and with our open-door policy, families are welcome to enjoy lunch/bottle time with your baby. When your baby is ready, they are gently settled for sleep and rest.

Mid-Afternoon

Our planned indoor and outdoor nursery experiences continue with the chance for movement, games and more books and songs, with an afternoon snack provided.

End of Day

The Nursery team are eager to share information about your baby’s day and their learning, preparing you and your baby for a smooth transition to your evening.

What we do to keep children safe

Create Safe Spaces & Practices

  • Nappy change areas are designed to have visibility windows and are set up for maximum supervision
  • Our policies also cater for team members being in sight or sound of another team member at all times.
  • Safety embedded in daily programs – by conducting daily checklists, comprehensive risk assessments, and more
  • Personal phones or devices are not allowed in learning spaces.

Safe People Who Follow Safe Policies

  • Working With Children Checks for all team members. Automatic alerts if a WWCC is revoked and team member not eligible for shifts
  • Rigorous reference checks – must provide previous line managers for their past roles
  • Annual compulsory Suitability Declarations to confirm ongoing fitness to work with children
  • Mandatory reporting and speaking up – report concerns immediately and all concerns will be investigated fully
  • Ongoing mandatory training in child safety, including annual refreshers and leadership-specific modules

  • All visitors must sign in and present photo ID before entry
  • All tradespeople must provide a WWCC & complete Guardian-specific induction.

Daily Rates

Our daily rates are all inclusive and have no additional charges for incursions / excursions or any of our learning programs. The rates shown are an estimate based on using Childcare Subsidy (CCS) subsidised hours. The CCS helps lower your out-of-pocket costs, with subsidy rates dependant on your individual family eligibility levels.

Great communication is vital in our collaborative partnerships with families at the Centre. We have a variety of different ways we communicate with you about your child's learning and progress:


  1. Storypark app - Stay connected to your child's day with regular updates, including photos and learning insights

  2. Pick-up and drop-off updates – Our Educators will share highlights from their day, including experiences they enjoyed, mealtimes, and naps to support your evening routine.

  3. In-room learning exchange displays make our weekly learning plans easy to see so you know what your child will be learning.

  4. Centre Newsletters – Great for community connection and wider Centre and team updates.

Preschool Program
Flying start to school

Our Flying Start to School preschool program is lead by degree qualified Teachers in a long day care setting. Our specialist two-year program is committed to supporting your child as they prepare for big school. We focus on nurturing their confidence, making friends and social emotional growth while also supporting their abilities in reading, writing, counting, and thinking skills. Whether it’s building with blocks, practicing their first letters, or learning to share with friends, every experience is carefully designed to support your child’s development.

Out and about

Through excursions, children are supported to expand their world, to get to know their community, and have a sense of belonging. Their learning thrives when they feel safe, welcome, and that they belong.

Cooking experiences teach numeracy by counting ingredients, and weighing and measuring quantities and volume, while managing these tasks supports independence and confidence.
