-
Morning tea
An opportunity for children to come together for a healthy snack, often they help prepare their food alongside our carers and chef.
-
Mid-morning
Individually tailored to your child’s needs and curiosity the planned experiences continue, this includes both indoor and outdoor programs.
-
Lunch
Another nutritious meal expertly prepared by our chef. Families are invited to join the children for meals and excursions if they wish.
-
Afternoon
If your child wants to, or needs to sleep, it’s time to rest and recharge. For children who don’t need to rest the planned experiences continue, in most cases outdoors.

Guardian Childcare & Education Elsternwick is nestled in leafy suburbia, in a purpose-built early learning facility that is designed to feel like home. The centre is filled with natural sunlight, creating a fresh and inviting environment.
Guardian Childcare & Education Elsternwick is conveniently located in the heart of Elsternwick, a vibrant and family-friendly suburb. The Centre is easily accessible to families living in the surrounding suburbs of Caulfield, Ripponlea, Brighton, and St Kilda. Nestled amidst parks and residential homes, our Centre provides a home-like, nurturing, and safe environment for children. Its strategic location also facilitates regular excursions to local places of interest, strengthening the connection between the children and their community.
We offer numerous outdoor environments that are developmentally appropriate where the children can explore and interact at their own pace, and create their own spaces. The downstairs yard is littered with trees that offer ample shade, and a lovely expansive deck joins all rooms.
Opposite we have an open spacious yard that offers endless exploration in the form of sandpits, an outdoor kitchen, a river bed and our tree house. Above on the first floor, two natural yards offer endless fun in the form of sandpits, decking, a construction patch for digging and an outdoor kitchen. The children especially love tending to the vegetable patches they created and having the fruits of their labour included in their daily meals.
We strive to provide our children with a variety of new and engaging experiences, so we have a broad range of programs that children can participate in at our Centre. These programs provide children with the opportunity to develop new skills, practice challenging themselves, and learn to engage their critical thinking and imagination. Some of the programs we run regularly with the children are:
Joy of Reading – We provide children with the opportunity to develop a genuine passion for reading at an early age. Through teaching about different kinds of books and words, and fostering a literary understanding, children can develop the healthy habit of reading, providing various developmental benefits.
Cooking – We’re all about healthy nutrition, and our on-site chef prepares meals daily for the children to enjoy. We encourage children to engage in the food preparation process and develop confidence in playing an active role in their nutrition. Children regularly help select ingredients, prepare food, ask questions and learn about the various food groups and nutrients.
Sustainability – Providing our children with an understanding of sustainability and a passion for the environment is important for us, so we engage in various activities and learning experiences that teach children about recycling and looking after the planet.
We create balanced and nutritious meals inspired by cultures from around the world, with plenty of variety to encourage children to try new foods with their peers. Our menu is signed off by a dietician, and families are encouraged to submit their own ideas on what could be included.
Our connections with the world around us help to enhance the children’s experience. Each year we connect with the local community through fundraising activities that support key charities. We also make the transition to school that much easier through our strong connections with local schools, which support our children to participate in fun excursions and joint projects.
Our passionate and dedicated Educators keep families well informed on their child’s development and encourage participation in our programs and feedback on how we can do things better.
