We have been very happy with Guardian King Street. It is well run, organised and the educators have been consistent since we started there which is a sign of a good centre. The educators take a genuine interest in our daughter. They organise great activities for the children and it is evident that they are continually trying out new ideas to make improvements.

My daughter has been attending Guardian King Street for over 12 months. The staff have been consistent over that time and are all excellent. Belinda, the centre manager, is wonderful and runs a tight ship. I was advised by someone in the childcare industry prior to my daughter starting daycare to choose a centre based on the NQS accreditation and seek out a daycare that is ‘exceeding’ accreditation. This has been excellent advice and the quality of the care at Guardian King Street is exceptional. We briefly had our daughter attending another centre closer to our home for a couple of days per week earlier this year, but ultimately we decided to keep her at Guardian exclusively as despite the longer drive it is a much higher quality centre. The other centre she briefly attended was only ‘meeting’ accreditation criteria so I can confidently say from our experience that the NQS rating accurately reflects the quality of care provided. Thank you to the wonderful King St team!

Guardian King St is such a wonderful childcare centre. We’ve sent our daughter since she was 10 months old (she is now almost 2) and even when we moved house 15mins away we still kept her here because it’s the best! I looked at so many other daycare centers and none compare. The staff are just the most beautiful people who really love children. They are the best mix of kind, nurturing, playful and caring. The management is fantastic and the centre is modern, clean, calm, and full of great toys and activities for the kids. If you want a centre that is going to love and care for your child as much as you, I can’t recommend this daycare highly enough!

I couldn’t recommend a place more than this place. I have kept in touch with other parents and they all agree when I say that guardian really set our children up for success. They have all started prep and are doing well. They all adjusted perfectly to school and have had no issues with the learning or schedule.Great work team! You all made it so easy for us and did wonders caring for our son!

The supportive, kind, warm and knowledgeable educators are always focused on providing great learning experiences and excursions that have helped our child develop fine motor skills, language and friendships beyond our expectations. They love attending the centre and we are continually amazed by the new things they learn with their friends each day. We trust and feel at ease communicating with the educators and leadership, and love that the values and principles they teach are consistent with the ones we practice at home. We recommend King Street Guardian Early Learning to everyone!

My son has been attending King Street for almost a year now and is loving every minute of it - to the point where sometimes it's hard to get him home - he doesn't want to leave! The carer's treat the kids like their own and the facilities are second to none. I would not hesitate in recommending King Street for your children.

Our son was one of the first children enrolled at Guardian Early Learning Centre (GELC) King Street and he has loved every minute of his first year there. The educators are so kind and caring. They have taught our son so many things including self feeding and sign language so he can communicate with us. Being a full service centre makes life so easy for us too not having to worry about lunches and we know the food he does eat will be full of goodness. Sending our son to GELC King Street was one of the best decisions we could have made to start our son's education. Thanks to Mel and the team there...we love you!

A fantastic childcare centre in Bowen Hills! The Guardian approach to care and early learning is brilliant. My two little ones thrive in the open plan layout and the child-led play based learning philosophy. Visits to the Ekka and excursions to the local cafes for babycinos are just some of the experiences the kids rave about!Reasonable and competitive fees for fully inclusive care. The in-house chef is great!Great staff led by a wonderful Centre Manager. Highly recommend.

Excellent facilities, very modern, large with great toys and activities for the children. Beautiful natural light from floor to ceiling windows and outings/excursions for the kids. Sean and Maddie are fantastic. Gill the chef is amazing, very high quality fresh food for the children everyday. The toys are high quality, great big clean sandpit with diggers and a gorgeous fort and climbing equipment. Perfect for hot Queensland summers as it is temperature controlled. Only annoying part is driving up three levels just to drop your kid off, and having to walk down three levels of stairs once you pass reception, then back up three flights of stairs to then drive three levels back down to get out of the centre - every morning and afternoon.

Children at Guardian King Street also get out and about on regular excursions, and because of this, we have a great connection with the surrounding community. These experiences are great for children’s self-confidence and to encourage children to explore their world.

Our on-site cook prepares delicious and nutritious meals and snacks every day and also hosts hands-on cooking classes for the children to help extend their knowledge of nutrition. Our qualified Educators use play-based learning to support children ages six weeks to six years to have the best early childhood education experience possible.

All our learning programs align with the Early Years Learning Framework.

As part of our unique Visible Learning Program, families will also have the chance to gain an understanding of their child’s learning. Easily accessible for families, our Learning Exchange Display provides the opportunity for our Teachers and Educators to share with you any updates on their progress every day. Meet our Centre Manager Belinda

"I believe that if a child is given the opportunity to explore, create and be nurtured, there is no end to their potential."

Where children are supported to be brave, curious, and bold in their learning, for the best possible start to life.

Rhythm of the Day

With endless possibilities, there’s never a dull moment at Guardian and no two days are the same. Here’s what a day at Guardian might look like.

With endless possibilities, there’s never a dull moment and no two days are the same.

Handover time with children, families and our friendly Educators. There's a chance for conversation to share what's important for the day/what's happened the night before at home.

Breakfast time where families are welcome to stay and enjoy breakfast with the children.

As children are arriving and families are coming and going, there's an opportunity for play as well as family grouping, open-plan play and multi-age grouping.

There's an opportunity for children to come together and enjoy morning tea.

Following morning tea, the planned experiences continue. This includes both indoor and outdoor programs.

There's an opportunity for children to come together for lunch. With an open-door policy, families are able to join the centre for meals and excursion if they wish.

For children who want to, or need to, there's an opportunity to sleep, rest or relax. For children who don't need to rest, there are planned experiences, which are more likely to be outdoors.

Children come together for afternoon tea in small groups or with siblings (they can also rest and play together, too). This time also presents an opportunity to reflect on the day.

As families arrive to pick up children, there's an opportunity to speak to Educators and share information about the day.

Some centres offer early tea or light snack at the end of the day, which they can grab as they leave the centre. We’re mindful of how routines vary at home, so if throughout the day, we notice children look tired, food will be provided.

Our approach to early childhood education at Guardian Childcare & Education King Street in Bowen Hills means your family has access to high-quality early learning in a safe environment close to home. We’re about building strong relationships with children and families, ensuring we create amazing learning experiences for each child and age group.

We are committed to best practices in our child care Centre, ensuring safe, secure, and inviting learning environments for children aged six weeks to six years in a long day care setting, supported by friendly Educators.

Each learning program is designed by experienced Educators and Teachers to support children in developing social and emotional skills, along with literacy, numeracy and problem-solving ability that prepares them for a life of learning. Our learning programs are aligned with the Early Years Learning Framework, the National Quality Standard, and the Australian School Curriculum.

The on-site cook prepares delicious meals and snacks freshly every day and also hosts hands-on cooking classes for the children to help extend their knowledge of nutrition and encourage them to try new foods! The children and educators also tend a vegetable garden on the Centre rooftop.

For children aged three and four years, Guardian King St early learning centre has an amazing kindergarten program that runs with our long day care to help prepare them for their upcoming transitions into formal schooling. Our three-year-old kindergarten program emphasises developing some of the social and communication skills that the children will use as they gain more self-confidence and independence.

In four-year-old kindergarten, children further develop their communication, social and emotional skills, and they also begin exploring some numbers, shapes and phonics. We encourage children to practice reading simple sounds and words on their own, and we empower them through the learning process that comes with this. Through developing skills in these areas, children can feel more ready and confident as they begin their first year of school.

We develop each child’s literacy and numeracy skills to help them feel confident and prepared during the challenging leap to school. Our program supports the needs and routines of each of our families, and we ensure each child’s cultural background is supported and encouraged.

Guardian Childcare King Street is an early learning centre that provides high-quality education and child care for families in local areas, including Fortitude Valley, Newstead, Teneriffe, Spring Hill and Herston.

Sustainability is another focus at our Centre, and we empower children to develop an understanding of recycling and other sustainable practices while developing a genuine passion and care for looking after our planet. Our Out & About program encourages children to spend more time playing outdoors in the fresh air and natural sunlight. We have a beautiful, spacious outdoor environment for the children to explore and practice engaging their imaginations and creativity.

Why not come and meet the team and have a look around our Centre today? We’d love to show you why Guardian King Street in Bowen Hills is the perfect environment for your child. At Guardian, we believe that together, we can create life-long learners who reach their full potential.

We look forward to welcoming you soon!

Children discover the wonders of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics through age-appropriate activities that are designed to foster curiosity and develop foundational skills like problem-solving and creativity.

Reading aloud to children each day inspires imagination and supports thinking. Books with rhythm, rhyme and word patterns make stories more playful and memorable.
