(Campbell) I have felt confident sending my son to this centre ever since I completed my walk through. The centre is beautifully equipped inside and out with a real home feel, having everything I wanted for him to experience included lots of outside activities on actual grass. Since June last year the team has been brilliant in communication and support, across multiple rooms and administration, welcoming our little family and cared for Harvey as an extended family, which we were hoping for as we don't have any family supports close to us. The team continue to genuinely care for his needs whether that be emotional or learning based and he has so much fun going to 'school'.

We moved to Guardian FTP late last year and couldn't be happier with our decision. Our toddler has loved all the educators and we have no issues with drop off in the mornings! She loves going. There is consistency with which educators are in each room, and any changes no matter how brief are well communicated. The outdoor play area is second to none. This was one of the main draw cards for us in choosing the centre and seeing all the activities the kids do outside through the story park daily updates confirms our decision. The management team are reliable and have great communication. Any email will be responded to that day. Highly recommend this centre!

We absolutely love this childcare centre! The educators are all super friendly and caring and they build such beautiful bonds with the kids! My toddler loves going to daycare in the morning, and I can see the delight on his face when he sees his educators! The educators also put so much thoughts and love into developing programs and activities for the children, my boy comes home happy after each fun-filled day.Another thing we love about the centre is the huge outdoor area! All children have plenty of opportunities to explore and play and enjoy the beautiful outdoor, the grass, the sand pit, the slides, the sunshine! Educators always made sure that children are sun safe wearing hats and having sunscreen on.The centre manager is so so friendly and also goes above and beyond to support parents and children. The chef is also super friendly and make delicious food not only for the children, but also for parents (quick snacks for parents in the morning)! I could go on and on, there are so many wonderful things to say about this place! Very happy we chose this centre and highly recommend!

We started at the Guardian Fig Tree Pocket last September and our experience has been nothing but outstanding every step of the way.Firstly, even before officially starting, we were invited to a number of “stay & play” sessions (you can choose as many as you want/need leading up to your little ones first day at daycare). This helped to get our daughter get familiar with the environment, other kids and educators, which eventually set us up for success.Secondly, the educators have been absolutely fantastic! They not only treat our daughter with genuine care and love, they go extra mile in terms of everything (feeding, teaching new skills, coming up with greatly balanced sets of activities for cognitive, fine and gross motor development).Thirdly, the daycare facilities are brilliant, as they have a massive outdoor area with real grass and greenery, veggie garden etc. for kids to play around. This is the only daycare in our area that offers such huge outdoor space. We cannot recommend Guardian Fig Tree Pocket enough. Thank you to the centre management and all the educators for helping make our journey so smooth and pleasant.

My daughter has been attending this daycare for over a year, and I couldn't be happier with the experience. I was originally drawn to this centre due to their outdoor space being so large and unique and their encouragement of plenty sun smart outdoor time. The educators have been fantastic! They genuinely love the children and create a warm, caring environment and can be helpful at drop off when needed. I’ve also loved the versatile and creative play learning activities they offer, which keep my child engaged and excited. They tend to tailor the activities around the children’s interests.Another standout is how they introduce and celebrate different cultures, broadening my daughter’s worldview. My little one has been so happy here, and I feel confident knowing she is in such great hands!

We absolutely love Guardian Fig Tree Pocket! The educators are fantastic, caring, attentive, and really invested in the children’s well-being. Communication is excellent, with fast response times and detailed daily updates through Storypark, which gives us peace of mind. We’ve tried other childcare centers, but none have had such a positive impact on our anxious toddler that loves being at home. The outdoor space is second to none, providing a wonderful environment for exploration and play. Highly recommend to any parent looking for a nurturing and engaging childcare experience!

My children started at this centre about 6 months ago. We moved them to Guardian Fig Tree Pocket as they weren’t settling in very well at their last child care centre, where we missed some warmth and connection from the educators. Now, both are very happy, the centre management is great and the educators work so hard to make my boys feel at home. They are creating some lovely friendships, the activities they do every day are so exciting for them and the outdoor space is fantastic. We’ve been very happy so far.

We feel totally at ease that our children are receiving the love and care they would at home. They come home happy and utterly exhausted (which is a great thing) from fun and fulfilling days orchestrated by the caring and thoughtful educators (and the extended staff) that run the centre.

When we moved to QLD from NSW we researched nearby day care centres for our daughter who was born in COVID; she hadn’t been socialised due to lock downs etc. The obvious thing you first notice about this centre is the amount of outdoor space and the private playground. Our daughter absolutely loved it but really struggled to adjust to day care after being with us 1:1 for so long. The educators at this centre went above and beyond for us by addressing our concerns. They would call us throughout the day, discuss matters with us after hours and provide advice on how we could make the transition easier. Above all of that, they would cuddle her when she cried and stay with her until she felt at ease. All of my friends with children agree - these educators are gold!Communication is fantastic, the centre is run well despite being acquired recently. I couldn’t be happier and would recommend this centre to anyone who is looking for top notch care for their kids.

A truly fantastic centre. The educators really care about the children and spend time developing relationships with them. The centre also provides daily updates and loads of photos via the Storypark app so you don’t need to worry or wonder how your child is going with the day.The curriculum is highly varied taking advantage of the large block for outdoor activities as well as indoors with books and sensory play.I’ve been raving about this centre to anyone that will listen because I feel it is truly amazing and I wouldn’t trust anyone else with my kiddo!

I had 3 children at this centre and I have been unable to find anywhere the same since moving. Amazing caring educators and lovely children that we still maintain contact with even though we have not attended for a few months now. Lovely yard, not a fake environment which my children really enjoyed.

My two daughters have been at this centre 2 weeks and are already settled in. The centre has great staff that actually care about the children. My toddler loves the chickens, veggie garden and their outdoor play program. We have tried a number of different centres in the area and have never been satisfied with the care our girls were getting. Its daunting leaving your children in the care of someone else.... but I honestly can't speak highly enough about this place!

Rhythm of the Day

We know children (and families) like routine. Whilst no two days of learning are ever the same - here's what a day at Guardian might look like.

Whilst no two days of learning are ever the same - here's what a day at Guardian might look like.

Handover time with children, families and our friendly Educators. There's a chance for conversation to share what's important for the day/what's happened the night before at home.

Breakfast time where families are welcome to stay and enjoy breakfast with the children.

As children are arriving and families are coming and going, there's an opportunity for play as well as family grouping, open-plan play and multi-age grouping.

There's an opportunity for children to come together and enjoy morning tea.

Following morning tea, the planned experiences continue. This includes both indoor and outdoor programs.

There's an opportunity for children to come together for lunch. With an open-door policy, families are able to join the centre for meals and excursion if they wish.

For children who want to, or need to, there's an opportunity to sleep, rest or relax. For children who don't need to rest, there are planned experiences, which are more likely to be outdoors.

Children come together for afternoon tea in small groups or with siblings (they can also rest and play together, too). This time also presents an opportunity to reflect on the day.

As families arrive to pick up children, there's an opportunity to speak to Educators and share information about the day.

Some centres offer early tea or light snack at the end of the day, which they can grab as they leave the centre. We’re mindful of how routines vary at home, so if throughout the day, we notice children look tired, food will be provided.

Fig Tree Pocket Centre Manager Image

Sally and team

Our Centre team, led by our experienced Centre Manager Sally, prides themselves on creating a great sense of community for all families.

Each role in the Centre is designed to work together to help create a nurturing environment for every child in each of our learning spaces.

In our Nursery Room, the dedicated team has a special role in creating secure attachments, routines, and strong relationships. Unique to Guardian nurseries is our Baby Ambassador, who is your go-to person for you and your baby’s first 12 months with us. They will know every detail about your baby: how breast or bottle milk is managed, how they like to eat, their sleeping routines, the nappies they wear, and more. With babies as young as six weeks in the Centre, it’s the Baby Ambassador’s job to work with families and Educators to help make our Nursery feel just like home.

Our Educators across the age groups work together to create fun, stimulating, and age-appropriate experiences for every child in their care. They are dedicated, experienced professionals who are allocated to a specific room so they can get to know each child individually and support their learning and development.

As part of our 2-year Flying Start to School program, we have degree-qualified Teachers who use the latest teaching practices to help your child build essential practical and social skills, ensuring they’re ready for their next big adventure—school!

Each room has a Lead Educator or Teacher who is responsible for planning and implementing an effective ongoing cycle of planning, documentation, and evaluation of the room’s learning program.

At the core of the Centre is our Cook—make sure you check out their daily menu when you visit. They help make food part of the learning journey and love seeing how children respond to new and exciting flavours.

The team is supported by a strong Leadership Team, including an Assistant Centre Manager and an Educational Leader.

Every role at the Centre is as important as the next.

How will you share updates about my child’s day?

Great communication is vital in our collaborative partnerships with families at the Centre. We have a variety of different ways we communicate with you about your child’s learning and progress:

  1. Storypark app - Stay connected to your child's day with regular updates, including photos and learning insights

  2. Pick-up and drop-off updates – Our Educators will share highlights from their day, including experiences they enjoyed, mealtimes, and naps to support your evening routine.

  3. In-room learning exchange displays make our weekly learning plans easy to see so you know what your child will be learning.

  4. Centre Newsletters – Great for community connection and wider Centre and team updates.

  5. Development documentation and meetings for your individual child’s progress.

But remember our door is always open.

What are the main features of this Centre

  • We have a veggie garden and chicken coop, where children can collect fresh fruits and vegetables, as well as eggs, throughout the day. We then provide the opportunity to try these different foods at meal times, involving children in the entire process of preparing, cooking, serving, and eating foods.
  • Plenty of natural space for children to keep their imaginations engaged. We have large open grass areas with beautiful big shady trees for cooling down under in summer. There are also some gorgeous garden areas and a digging patch for when children feel like getting their hands dirty in nature.
  • The modern fort is a popular attraction, with the children coming up with all sorts of imaginative games and ideas for how it can be used for learning. We also have two large sandpits, which provide motor skill development opportunities for younger children and introduce an understanding of shapes and building for the older ones.
  • A large natural playground that lets children develop their independence and confidence in a safe and secure setting. The outdoor area as a whole is spacious, nestled on three-quarters of an acre, allowing children to roam freely and providing plenty of space for exploration and running around.

Our Learning Programs

Learning should be fun! Learning through play encourages children to explore and understand their world at their own pace. It helps build their knowledge, develop confidence, and embrace curiosity.

Learning should be fun! Learning through play allows children to build their knowledge, develop confidence, and embrace curiosity.

Kindergarten Program
Flying start to school

Our Flying Start to School kindergarten program is lead by degree qualified Teachers in a long day care setting. Our specialist two-year program is committed to supporting your child as they prepare for big school. We focus on nurturing their confidence, making friends and social emotional growth while also supporting their abilities in reading, writing, counting, and thinking skills. Whether it’s building with blocks, practicing their first letters, or learning to share with friends, every experience is carefully designed to support your child’s development.

Our Centre is a recipient of funding as part of the QLD Government’s Free Kindy Program. Eligible children who turn four years old by 30 June 2025 can receive up to 15hrs of free kindergarten a week to reduce your out-of-pocket fees. Ask for more details when you tour the centre.

Out and about

Through excursions, children are supported to expand their world, to get to know their community, and have a sense of belonging. Their learning thrives when they feel safe, welcome, and that they belong.

STEM

Children discover the wonders of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics through age-appropriate activities that are designed to foster curiosity and develop foundational skills like problem-solving and creativity.

Cooking

Cooking experiences teach numeracy by counting ingredients, and weighing and measuring quantities and volume, while managing these tasks supports independence and confidence.

Ella Language

Learning languages through Early Learning Languages Australia (ELLA) supports brain development and social skills and creates opportunities to celebrate cultural diversity.

Joy of Reading

Reading aloud to children each day inspires imagination and supports thinking. Books with rhythm, rhyme and word patterns make stories more playful and memorable.

Sustainability

From growing veggies and foraging in the garden for that day’s meal ingredients to learning about recycling, children learn about being part of a community, connecting to their environment and understanding their impact on the world.
