Rhythm of the Day
With endless possibilities, there’s never a dull moment at Guardian and no two days are the same. Here’s what a day at Guardian might look like.
With endless possibilities, there’s never a dull moment and no two days are the same.
Handover time with children, families and our friendly Educators. There's a chance for conversation to share what's important for the day/what's happened the night before at home.
Breakfast time where families are welcome to stay and enjoy breakfast with the children.
As children are arriving and families are coming and going, there's an opportunity for play as well as family grouping, open-plan play and multi-age grouping.
There's an opportunity for children to come together and enjoy morning tea.
Following morning tea, the planned experiences continue. This includes both indoor and outdoor programs.
There's an opportunity for children to come together for lunch. With an open-door policy, families are able to join the centre for meals and excursion if they wish.
For children who want to, or need to, there's an opportunity to sleep, rest or relax. For children who don't need to rest, there are planned experiences, which are more likely to be outdoors.
Children come together for afternoon tea in small groups or with siblings (they can also rest and play together, too). This time also presents an opportunity to reflect on the day.
As families arrive to pick up children, there's an opportunity to speak to Educators and share information about the day.
Some centres offer early tea or light snack at the end of the day, which they can grab as they leave the centre. We’re mindful of how routines vary at home, so if throughout the day, we notice children look tired, food will be provided.

Learn More About Our Centre
Guardian Childcare & Education Croydon Park is a clean and modern learning environment for children aged six weeks to six years to grow and develop in their early years. We place an emphasis on play-based learning, and empowering each child to foster development through their interests, passions and talents.
We have a spacious outdoor environment for children to roam and explore, and there are endless possibilities for fun and learning. We have a beautiful water area, where children can openly explore the properties of liquid while also cooling off on warmer days. Our sandpits are a great place for the children to practice engaging their imaginations and creativity.
Children at Guardian Croydon Park receive five healthy, nutritious meals each day, prepared by our friendly cook in our commercial-grade kitchen. Our Educators encourage children to engage in the food preparation process, through interacting with our chef or socialising while eating meals in the Piazza.
We have a strong sense of community at the centre, with opportunities for families to connect with the local community through excursions and incursions. We make regular trips to nearby parks, libraries, supermarkets, and other community facilities. Our Educators take time to plan these trips carefully selecting a variety of destinations that are both fun and educational.
We believe in fostering a love for learning from an early age at Guardian Croydon Park. Our dedicated team of university qualified Teachers continuously seek out new ways to engage our students in their education journey; focusing on creating meaningful experiences within all aspects of the curriculum.
Through the Storypark app, family communication is made simple. Families receive regular photos of your child throughout the day, providing some peace of mind that you won’t miss your child’s most significant early learning developmental moments and milestones.
We’re open from 6.30am to 6.00pm every weekday, so there is plenty of flexibility to work around your schedule. We’re conveniently located a short distance from the main road into Adelaide’s CBD, so families from the northern suburbs may choose to drop their children off on the way into work rather than travelling to a separate location for childcare.
We provide child care and long day care for families in Croydon Park and the surrounding suburbs, such as Prospect, Enfield, Kilburn, and Woodville. When searching for childcare nearby, selecting the right facility is crucial for your child’s development. Located conveniently near the heart of the city, our childcare centre in Croydon Park offers an excellent option for families seeking quality education.
As a leading childcare centre in Adelaide, we offer a comprehensive curriculum that nurtures children’s curiosity and development. By emphasising personalised experiences and family engagement, we create an environment where your child feels secure and inspired, ensuring a smooth transition to educational success.
At drop-off and pick-up times, we encourage families to come into the Centre and meet with our Educators. This is an amazing opportunity to discuss your child’s growth and development, and to find some ways to improve their early childhood education experience. You can also take this time to walk around the learning environment and explore the various resources, materials and activities that your child can engage with throughout the day.
Those aged three and four years old have the opportunity to participate in our preschool program. The preschool curriculum is provided by passionate, university-qualified Early Childhood Teachers who place an emphasis on fostering genuine and meaningful relationships with children. The preschool room is filled with resources that inspire learning and curiosity, showing children that education is a positive part of life.
Both the three-year-old and four-year-old programs are focused on preparing children for the exciting transition into primary school. We’ll begin introducing some basic literacy and numeracy skills, providing children with a positive head-start as they enter the first few years of primary school.
We’re committed to children’s health and nutrition, and our on-site cook prepares each meal fresh and packed with all the nutrients that children need at their age. We encourage children to engage in food preparation and to ask questions about where their food comes from, why it’s good for them, and how they can eat it. We also encourage exploration of the cultural heritage behind different foods, helping promote diversity and inclusion from an early age.
Guardian Croydon Park consists of a passionate and enthusiastic educational team that take the time to know and understand your child. We foster growth and curiosity through your child’s unique hobbies, interests and talents, providing them with the opportunity to develop a lifelong love of learning.
Why not come and meet the team and have a look around our Centre today? We’d love to show you why Guardian Childcare and Education Croydon Park is the perfect learning environment for your child. Our Learning Programs
Learning should be fun! Learning through play encourages children to explore and understand their world at their own pace. It helps build their knowledge, develop confidence, and embrace curiosity.
Learning should be fun! Learning through play allows children to build their knowledge, develop confidence, and embrace curiosity.
Our specialist two-year kindergarten/preschool program is led by degree qualified Teachers in a long day care setting. Children explore and understand their world in an environment of safety and security. It’s where they develop the foundational literacy and numeracy skills to thrive.
Through excursions, children are supported to expand their world, to get to know their community, and have a sense of belonging. Their learning thrives when they feel safe, welcome, and that they belong.
Children discover the wonders of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics through age-appropriate activities that are designed to foster curiosity and develop foundational skills like problem-solving and creativity.
Cooking experiences teach numeracy by counting ingredients, and weighing and measuring quantities and volume, while managing these tasks supports independence and confidence.
Learning languages through Early Learning Languages Australia (ELLA) supports brain development and social skills and creates opportunities to celebrate cultural diversity.
Reading aloud to children each day inspires imagination and supports thinking. Books with rhythm, rhyme and word patterns make stories more playful and memorable.
From growing veggies and foraging in the garden for that day’s meal ingredients to learning about recycling, children learn about being part of a community, connecting to their environment and understanding their impact on the world.
