Absolutely loved how much support Chen and Dani have been to my son, they made him feel welcomed and have always tried to listen to my concerns and help me address them. I would also like to thanks Placida for her ongoing support and always understanding me as a parent and guiding us. After worst two last experiences I am really glad that this one has turned out to be the best.

Mel, Caitlin and the Wanda Street Guardian Team have been completely transformative for our child, in the best possible way. He started at Guardian after previously being enrolled at a different centre that we feel never truly made him feel welcome. We made the change to Love Kids/Guardian and from before Day One (thanks to some orientation hours) Mel and Caitlin had made him feel welcome and part of the 4yo Kinder room. He has absolutely blossomed since then. He doesn't complain or cry about drop-off like he did at the old centre. Instead he comes home excited about stories from his day or activities planned for the week, he's making friends and developing socially. His vocabulary and intellectual curiosity are rapidly growing. Friends and family are commenting about how different he seems this year, how much more confident he is and he has calmed down so much. He's a completely different child and we are delighted with his development. Placida the Manager, as well as all the fantastic teams in each room, the entire centre has helped to make my son feel much more comfortable and safe and cared-for, and we cannot thank them enough. If you are unsure about your child's current centre, and are worried about the transition to a new centre being too disruptive, well I can assure you that I've been in that exact situation and had the exact same concerns... but the Guardian team have addressed every concern, made our child feel cared-for and part of the community, and been fantastic communicators with our family every step of the way. I highly recommend this centre.

Our experience with Lovekids(Guardian), Mulgrave, started 14 yrs ago with our first son, last year our youngest "graduated" from them. From day one our kids felt at home with the staff. We feel like they become part of the family. I am sad that we had to leave them.

Welcome to our Centre

Guardian Childcare & Education Mulgrave South is a convenient childcare choice for families living in and around Windsor, Bligh Park, McGraths Hill and Oakville.

With a range of resource-rich environments – including a spacious open-plan yard – the modern yet homely Centre has herb and vegetable gardens, native trees, a fort and natural play structures where children are encouraged to explore and learn.

The first five years of your child’s life are incredibly important when it comes to social and emotional development, and setting them up with a love of learning that lasts a lifetime. That’s why, at Guardian Mulgrave South, we’re focused on teaching children how to learn versus just ticking a box. This approach to education comes to life in our Kindergarten Program, which is led by qualified teachers who are there to help prepare your child for the exciting transition to school.

The Victorian Government offers funding to provide families up to 15 hours of Free Kindergarten a week, in addition to the Childcare Subsidy. The funding offsets the fees for three and four-year-old children that are part of the Centre’s long day care Kindergarten program. Families will save up to $2,050 a year for children aged three years old and above in eligible long day cares in 2024. Ask us for more information when you visit our Centre.

With a dedicated team of Educators who have been with the Centre for a long time, we are proud to be a culturally diverse Centre and celebrate a variety of cultures and holidays throughout the year. This extends the children’s knowledge of the world around them and increases their understanding of diversity.

Our on-site cook prepares nutritionally balanced meals using seasonal ingredients every day in our dedicated kitchen. This space also hosts regular hands-on cooking classes where the children and Educators collect herbs and vegetables from our gardens to add to the daily meals.

Begin the adventure at Guardian Mulgrave South today by booking a tour to explore the Centre or speaking with the team.

We’re Exceeding! What does that mean? Every six months, our Centres are assessed by ACECQA, the national body with the responsibility for monitoring the quality of all registered child care centres in Australia. A rating of Exceeding National Quality Standard means that you can be assured that this Centre is providing an exceptional level of care and attention for your child.

"I began working at Love Kids in 2004 - it has become my second home and the Educators have become my family."

Where children are supported to be brave, curious, and bold in their learning, for the best possible start to life.

Rhythm of the Day

With endless possibilities, there’s never a dull moment at Guardian and no two days are the same. Here’s what a day at Guardian might look like.

With endless possibilities, there’s never a dull moment and no two days are the same.

Handover time with children, families and our friendly Educators. There's a chance for conversation to share what's important for the day/what's happened the night before at home.

Breakfast time where families are welcome to stay and enjoy breakfast with the children.

As children are arriving and families are coming and going, there's an opportunity for play as well as family grouping, open-plan play and multi-age grouping.

There's an opportunity for children to come together and enjoy morning tea.

Following morning tea, the planned experiences continue. This includes both indoor and outdoor programs.

There's an opportunity for children to come together for lunch. With an open-door policy, families are able to join the centre for meals and excursion if they wish.

For children who want to, or need to, there's an opportunity to sleep, rest or relax. For children who don't need to rest, there are planned experiences, which are more likely to be outdoors.

Children come together for afternoon tea in small groups or with siblings (they can also rest and play together, too). This time also presents an opportunity to reflect on the day.

As families arrive to pick up children, there's an opportunity to speak to Educators and share information about the day.

Some centres offer early tea or light snack at the end of the day, which they can grab as they leave the centre. We’re mindful of how routines vary at home, so if throughout the day, we notice children look tired, food will be provided.

Learn More About Our Centre

At Guardian Childcare & Education Mulgrave South we believe in providing an environment that is secure, caring and nurturing. We provide and educationally based program to ensure each room provides meaningful, developmentally appropriate play based experiences for the children. We provide opportunities for the children to explore literacy, numeracy, music and movement, science and nature, maths, and the arts to help them understand their world, and explore their environment.

Throughout the day children will be exposed to small group, whole group and individual learning experiences that have been developed from the needs, strengths and interests of each child. Children will have opportunities for solo play as well as forming relationships within small and large groups.

Your child will love their day at Guardian Childcare & Education Mulgrave South with our friendly and passionate team of educators. We have high educator to child ratios allowing educators and families to work together to ensure a happy and productive time whilst children are in our care.

Our educators take the time to provide families with up to date information on their child´s day and development progress. Our educators are selected for their qualifications and expertise in the early childhood field and we pride ourselves on the quality of our care and the warm and secure learning environment we provide.

Your child’s learning and development will benefit greatly from the interaction with educators and other children at the centre. We make sure that our curriculum and school readiness program fits within the Commonwealth Government’s Early Years Learning Framework and National Quality Standards.

Our Learning Programs

Learning should be fun! Learning through play encourages children to explore and understand their world at their own pace. It helps build their knowledge, develop confidence, and embrace curiosity.

Learning should be fun! Learning through play allows children to build their knowledge, develop confidence, and embrace curiosity.

Kindergarten/Preschool Program

Our specialist two-year kindergarten/preschool program is led by degree qualified Teachers in a long day care setting. Children explore and understand their world in an environment of safety and security. It’s where they develop the foundational literacy and numeracy skills to thrive.

Out and about

Through excursions, children are supported to expand their world, to get to know their community, and have a sense of belonging. Their learning thrives when they feel safe, welcome, and that they belong.

STEM

Children discover the wonders of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics through age-appropriate activities that are designed to foster curiosity and develop foundational skills like problem-solving and creativity.

Cooking

Cooking experiences teach numeracy by counting ingredients, and weighing and measuring quantities and volume, while managing these tasks supports independence and confidence.

Ella Language

Learning languages through Early Learning Languages Australia (ELLA) supports brain development and social skills and creates opportunities to celebrate cultural diversity.

Joy of Reading

Reading aloud to children each day inspires imagination and supports thinking. Books with rhythm, rhyme and word patterns make stories more playful and memorable.

Sustainability

From growing veggies and foraging in the garden for that day’s meal ingredients to learning about recycling, children learn about being part of a community, connecting to their environment and understanding their impact on the world.
