The Centre features vegetable gardens, a worm farm, a newly refurbished nursery and a range of age-specific play areas where our exciting programs come to life.

These programs include a leading preschool program for those older children preparing for the transition to primary school, led by university-qualified teachers.

Our on-site chef prepares five nutritionally balanced meals using seasonal ingredients every day. The children enjoy their meals either indoors or outside under the trees whilst socialising with their friends and educators.

At Guardian Maroubra East we get out and about on regular excursions, so we have a great connection with the surrounding community. We visit the local nursing home, St Brigid’s Green, to visit the elderly residents every month. The children adore this experience and it brings so much joy to everyone involved.

As part of our unique Visible Learning Program, families have the chance to gain an in-depth understanding of their child’s learning. Easily accessible for families, our Learning Exchange Display provides the opportunity for our Teachers and Educators to share with you any updates on their progress every day. You will also have the chance to share with us your own personal goals and visions for us to implement, having direct input in your child’s educational journey!

Families will also be given access to our family communication app Storypark, where we will share with you any significant updates in your child’s day, as well as any other important updates that happen in the centre – ensuring that you’re always connected, even when you’re not here.

The NSW Government offers funding to provide families at our Centre fee relief of up to $2174 per child aged three and above, and up to $515 per year for children aged three. This support is in addition to the CCS and can help to lower your out-of-pocket fees.

My daughter has been with the centre since she was 11 months old and she is now transitioning from the nursery to the toddlers room (for over a year now) Our experience with this centre has been amazing. She loves spending time with all the educators and other children. The level of engagement and learning activities at this centre are excellent. Food is cooked in house and is very good. We are excited for her toddlers transition and highly recommend this centre.

Great centre and staff are amazing. Both my kids attend and are thriving in the short amount of time they've been there. Educators are encouraging, patient and accommodating. I find my children are more social and love the outdoor area. Miss Nicole is a legend and my son absolutely adores her. Thank you all!

My son has been in the centre for the past 20 months graduating from the nursery to the toddler room. While there has been a short period of turnover, the staff has now fully stabilised and my son is absolutely loving it! The Centre Manager is very friendly, the Educators are absolute superstars (shoutout to Elyott, Aisling, Kayla, Dotty and Cheyenne) and the Chef, Alex, always prepares delicious meals. The new outdoor area is beautiful. Highly recommend. Best, Christina and Jonathan

We sent our daughter to the centre for a total of 3 years. She was there in the baby and toddler rooms. We really enjoyed working with the educators and felt the educators played a big part in the journey of our girl. We have even made a family friend with one of the educators in the process. The centre managers and room leaders have also been very responsive and caring. They were a joy to work with.Lastly, I definitely would recommended them if anyone wants to put their child in a day care centre that has the happiness of a kid at the core of their service. Thank you everyone at Guardian Maroubra East for helping Ana learn and grow to be a confident, happy and caring individual.

Really lovely staff. Happy kids. Our kids attended before we moved house. Liked that the kids were in different groups but still saw and played together every day. Unlike some daycares where they're kept separate.

Rhythm of the Day

We know children (and families) like routine. Whilst no two days of learning are ever the same - here's what a day at Guardian might look like.

Whilst no two days of learning are ever the same - here's what a day at Guardian might look like.

Handover time with children, families and our friendly Educators. There's a chance for conversation to share what's important for the day/what's happened the night before at home.

Breakfast time where families are welcome to stay and enjoy breakfast with the children.

As children are arriving and families are coming and going, there's an opportunity for play as well as family grouping, open-plan play and multi-age grouping.

There's an opportunity for children to come together and enjoy morning tea.

Following morning tea, the planned experiences continue. This includes both indoor and outdoor programs.

There's an opportunity for children to come together for lunch. With an open-door policy, families are able to join the centre for meals and excursion if they wish.

For children who want to, or need to, there's an opportunity to sleep, rest or relax. For children who don't need to rest, there are planned experiences, which are more likely to be outdoors.

Children come together for afternoon tea in small groups or with siblings (they can also rest and play together, too). This time also presents an opportunity to reflect on the day.

As families arrive to pick up children, there's an opportunity to speak to Educators and share information about the day.

Some centres offer early tea or light snack at the end of the day, which they can grab as they leave the centre. We’re mindful of how routines vary at home, so if throughout the day, we notice children look tired, food will be provided.

We also encourage exploration of the cultural heritage behind different foods, helping promote diversity and inclusion from an early age.

As part of our unique Visible Learning Program, families will be able to gain an understanding of their child’s education. Out and about

Through excursions, children are supported to expand their world, to get to know their community, and have a sense of belonging. Their learning thrives when they feel safe, welcome, and that they belong.

STEM

Children discover the wonders of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics through age-appropriate activities that are designed to foster curiosity and develop foundational skills like problem-solving and creativity.

Cooking

Cooking experiences teach numeracy by counting ingredients, and weighing and measuring quantities and volume, while managing these tasks supports independence and confidence.

Reading aloud to children each day inspires imagination and supports thinking. Books with rhythm, rhyme and word patterns make stories more playful and memorable.
