Rhythm of The Day
With endless possibilities, there’s never a dull moment at Guardian and no two days are the same. Here’s what a day at Guardian might look like. Please note, this will vary depending on centre opening hours.
-
Morning
Handover time with children, families and our friendly Educators. There’s a chance to share what’s important for the day and any news from home.
-
Morning
Breakfast time where families are welcome to stay and enjoy breakfast with the children.
-
Morning
An opportunity to play and discover with open-plan play in family groups and multi-age groupings.
-
Morning
Planned experiences. This is where the Guardian difference comes to life. Alongside our Educators your child’s exploration leads to learnings in numeracy, literacy, language, critical thinking, problem solving, leadership, social skills, technology, creative arts and much more.
-
Morning tea
An opportunity for children to come together for a healthy snack, often they help prepare their food alongside our carers and chef.
-
Mid-morning
Individually tailored to your child’s needs and curiosity the planned experiences continue, this includes both indoor and outdoor programs.
-
Lunch
Another nutritious meal expertly prepared by our chef. Families are invited to join the children for meals and excursions if they wish.
-
Afternoon
If your child wants to, or needs to sleep, it’s time to rest and recharge. For children who don’t need to rest the planned experiences continue, in most cases outdoors.
-
Afternoon tea
Another chance for the children to come together and re-fuel in small groups. There is also an opportunity to rest or play together and reflect on the day.
-
Pick-up
As you arrive to pick up your child, there’s a chance to speak with our Educators and share news about the day. Our Storypark App also allows you to stay in touch 24/7 wherever you are.
-
End of day
Your child is encouraged to grab a light snack before they leave the centre. We’re mindful of how routines vary, throughout the day if we notice your child looking tired food will be provided.

Learn More About Our Centre expand_more
Guardian Childcare & Education Pascoe Vale is located on Cumberland Road in Pascoe Vale, close to both the Tullamarine Freeway and Bell Street, providing easy access for commuters in the north and west of Melbourne. We pride ourselves on our professional, safe, inviting and natural learning environments which warmly welcome all children, families and visitors.
Our centre has 188 places and caters for children from six weeks to five years of age in nine beautifully appointed rooms. We are known for our delicious and nutritious menu which offers breakfast, lunch and three snacks delivered by an innovative cook and kitchen staff. We have strong community partnerships, including those with our local primary schools and we actively support a positive transition to school for our funded kindergarten four and five-year-old children.
Our educational and learning programs are planned for each age group by qualified Educators, supported by a Senior Educational Leader who provides guidance and mentorship. Children’s interests, ideas, strengths and needs are central and we work in partnership with both children and their families to ensure that learning is meaningful.
Our passionate team of Early Childhood Teachers and Educators are guided in their practice by many important documents and statements including, the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework, The National Quality Framework, The United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, the Early Childhood Australia Code of Ethics and our own play-based Guardian Curriculum, which itself is largely influenced by the Reggio Emilia Educational Project.
Our learning program includes a combination of structured and unstructured experiences, routines and rituals, and is largely child centred, placing high value on children’s inquiry, their voices and unique differences. Children are celebrated as active and curious learners, capable and competent with rights and agency.
Our learning programs also place value on giving children many opportunities for building their skills with self-help, self-regulation, co-construction with peers, independence, responsibility, persistence, social competence and emotional resilience.
At PVELC we have a culture of inclusivity, joy, empathy and community and look forward to welcoming your family into our family, where everybody belongs!
