Why Guardian?

The first five years of your child’s life are incredibly important when it comes to social and emotional development, and setting them up with a love of learning that lasts a lifetime. That’s why at Guardian we’re focused on teaching children how to learn versus just ticking a box.

With a focus on care and education, we’re here to help you get the absolute most out of your childcare experience. Read more about why you should choose Guardian Childcare and Education for your family.

What do we offer?

We know it’s a big decision to make about who will care for your child, but we aim to make it an easy one by providing a home-away-from-home where children learn and feel safe to explore in a variety of settings.

Our world-class curriculum is delivered by qualified teachers through exciting and engaging play-based experiences, including a leading Preschool and Kindergarten Program for our older children. We combine this with the highest quality care, and communicate it all back to you so you can see how your child is growing and developing every day.

Our Centres have rooms and Educators dedicated to each age group: BabyToddler and Preschool/Kindergarten. Our enrolment options provide long day care hours to support families, combining the security of ongoing bookings with the flexibility to access casual care days when needed (if spaces are available in your Centre).

How can I Enrol my Child?

If you’re thinking of enrolling, we’d encourage you to book a tour of your local Centre

During your tour you will have the opportunity to meet the Centre Manager, Educators and have a really good look around the Centre while the team answer any questions you may have.

We even have a list of questions you can ask the centre to make sure it’s the right fit for you and your family.

If you wish to enrol after your tour, the Centre Manager will support you with this process, including our full induction pack and information for parents. You will receive details about government subsidies, immunisation requirements and any other documents needed to confirm your place.

If you are not ready to enrol, or is there are no places available at the Centre of your choice, you will be able to join our waitlist and stay up to date with vacancies and Centre news.

What will happen when we start?

The orientation and settling in period at your new Centre is all about understanding and respecting the needs of both families and children. You are welcome to stay with your child when dropping off or picking up for as long as you and our team feel is necessary. We’ll also take care of you at the start, because we know that sometimes mum and dad need some extra support and a tissue or two!

We aim to make the orientation experience a positive and welcoming introduction to Guardian. Our Centres will provide options for your start at the Centre, which include:

  • Inviting you to visit with your child at times that suit you, to familiarise yourself with the Centre prior to your child’s attendance.
  • Providing you with a detailed tour of the Centre, which will include introductions to educators, other children, and families, and that highlights procedures that impact you and your child.
  • We will provide you with our Family Handbook, and plenty of opportunities to have all your questions answered.
  • Supporting you and your family with the opportunity to stay with your child during the settling in process.
  • Encouraging you to share information about your child and any concerns, doubts or anxieties you may have in regard to their enrolment.

From your child’s first day we will work on building relationships with their educators and other children in their room. This will help your child create bonds which will make them feel secure and safe in the Centre. We will also support them to get settled in their new environment by encouraging them to have some fun and enjoy creative experiences which interest them.

Read our FAQs for new families to help with any other questions you may have.

We’re not ready to start yet… Join our waitlist

It can be heartbreaking to miss out on a place at your top Centre, so remember to put your child’s name down on the waitlist early (some people do it when the child is born), and confirm your requirements as regularly as possible.

You can book a tour at any time, and once you’re on the waitlist you’ll receive regular updates about availability, events and other Centre information you may find useful.

What are your Childcare Fees?

The out of pocket cost of childcare is a real consideration for families assessing their care options. Our fees are specific to each Centre and can be found on our individual Centre pages

We do not have a set daily fee as there are many variables that need to be considered, such as the age of your child, the room they are enrolled in and the location of the Centre.

Once enrolled, Guardian charge fees one week in advance on a weekly basis, and you will receive a statement via email. We are a registered childcare provider, which means eligible families can claim the Child Care Subsidy (CCS).

Can I claim the Child Care Subsidy?

The Child Care Subsidy (CCS) is a government subsidy that offers different levels of financial assistance to help cover the cost of childcare for Australian families. How much you receive depends on your individual circumstances.

Your CCS is calculated using three components:

  1. Your combined family income
  2. Your level of ‘activity’
  3. Your childcare provider’s hourly rate

Our Child Care Subsidy page has all the information you need. And our simple Child Care Subsidy Calculator can help you determine what support you’re eligible for and your estimated out of pocket fees.
