The Centre has a proud and culturally diverse team who celebrate a variety of cultures and holidays. Children often get out and about on excursions, fostering great connections and partnership with the local Inner West community. Favourite destinations include Rafael’s Bakery, our local library and visits to Haberfield public school for our Preschool children, who also benefit from our leading Preschool Programs.

Our team of Educators are committed and passionate about ensuring your child will be safe, nurtured and cared for every day. At Guardian, children are encouraged to engage in interest-led play that creates learning and meaningful experiences.

Our Educators seek to optimise diverse learning opportunities and implement the Curriculum as framed by the Early Years Learning Framework.

You and Your Child

All Guardian Centres provide a Centre-to-Family communication platform so families can maintain contact with their children’s experiences through photos, stories and learning outcomes.

Our Centres use Storypark and each family is provided with a secure login to access on their computers, mobiles or apps.

More about Guardian Haberfield

Haberfield is a suburb in the Inner West of Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. Haberfield is located 6.5 km west of the Sydney central business district in the local government area of the Inner West Council. Guardian Childcare Haberfield services a number of local areas, including: Ashfield, West Ashfield, Five Dock, Leichhardt, Croydon, Rodd Point and Annandale.

Our Haberfield centre offers a range of experiences through our childcare program that we believe are important for any child’s development in their early years. Our curriculum is modeled on the National Early Learning Years Framework which recognises the incredible value of investing in the first five years of a child’s life and the vital role that educators play in developing the whole child.

At Guardian Haberfield we prioritise working with families, not just children – because we understand that a true family childcare service should focus on childhood education as well as connecting your young ones to the community and preparing them for school.

With extended standard hours and a goal to create the best educational programs for children in the country, we’re here for you during those crucial Preschool years.

We offer a curriculum broader than just literacy and numeracy, including language, art, music, social skills, sport, sustainability and much more. With a strong focus on family involvement, engagement and communication, Guardian Haberfield also offers a solid team of experienced educators who are passionate about their roles, and this is reflected in the genuine interest they take in each and every child and family. We love building connections with the families at our Centre, and endeavour to learn as much as we can about them.

We value the role of families as a child’s first teacher and we’re committed to developing trusting relationships by listening and responding to families about all aspects of their child’s learning and development. So, our approach is focused on the latest research and insights into how children learn best, and the specific skills they will need to thrive in the 21st Century.

We have an on-site cook who prepares all meals fresh each day, using seasonal and healthy ingredients. We also grow a range of fresh ingredients at most of our Centres, that the children love getting involved with – often harvesting those vegetables and herbs to use in the Centre kitchen as part of their learning about nutrition and wellness. It’s a real playground to plate experience!

We aim to cater for children’s individual routines by practicing consistency between families’ homes and centres and by talking to parents about changes as children grow.

We ensure that all children have the opportunity to achieve and experience a variety of developmentally appropriate activities in aesthetically pleasing environments designed for growing bodies and creative minds.

We also offer a number of additional benefits for busy families, such as:

  • Designated drop off and pick up zones to assist with those busy mornings and afternoons.
  • Casual care days where possible.
  • Assisting you with government subsidies and entitlements to help you make the most of the financial support which may be available
  • Our family communication app StoryPark to keep you informed throughout the day.
  • We hold parent and educator sessions to keep you informed of your child’s individual progress.
