A childcare centre administrative assistant will be the main point of contact for everyone entering the centre. You’ll also complete the administration tasks as required, including purchasing, filing, enrolments, and payroll.
Working as an administrative assistant with Guardian is an excellent way to start and develop your childcare career.

What does a childcare administrative assistant do on a daily basis?
The daily tasks a childcare administrative assistant completes are varied and can change depending on how busy the centre is at that time. At the start of your day, you’ll usually have a short meeting with the Centre Manager or Assistant Centre Manager, and they’ll assign you any special duties for the day.
After your meeting, you’ll be busy answering any email enquiries and greeting families as they drop off their children for the day. Our families like to be informed about anything at the centre, and you may be required to update them on special events. Most families will drop off their children at specific times, and you’ll soon learn when your busiest times are and when you can complete other tasks.
When the morning drop-offs are completed, you’ll focus on your administration tasks, such as purchase orders, payroll processes, new enrolments, handling deliveries, and other jobs. Towards the end of the day, you’ll greet the families as they start to come in and collect their children. As a childcare administrative assistant, you’ll find the daily tasks challenging, but you’ll soon find your rhythm.
At Guardian Childcare, we look for administrative assistants that can think outside the box and provide a welcoming and supportive environment for our children and their families. You’ll be the face of the centre and the first point of call for our families. If you’re up for the challenge, apply for our job openings today!
