I want to say that being at guardian Altona north has been amazing. Hayat the centre manager and all staff are absolutely amazing and always hands on with the children. Also the fact that the centre is tucked away from the main road gives me that extra sense of security.

I’ve had one child go through Guardian Altona North and 2 currently enrolled in kinder and daycare. All staff have been fantastic carers and educators for my children. The teachers provide daily learning stories and regular updates with reference to best-practice early childhood Australian standards. This is more than other early childcare centres in the area where I found no feedback or delayed correspondence. For a large centre it feels like a tight-knit community with the benefit of well-established processes. 5/5!

Our son loves attending Guardian, or ‘school’ as we call it. Has thrived and truly loves all of his educators. We were worried about transitioning after attending a different daycare for a long time but the staff in both the rooms and at the front desk have made it so easy. We love the range of food our son gets to eat and that he is always greeted by educators in different rooms despite having only been in the one. Excited to see the new centre too! Thanks Wallaby room, Jess P and the rest of the team!

Placing our son in daycare during a pandemic was stressful. He was 6 months old and we were nervous. The educators are amazing in the possum room. They nurtured him and helped him develop. He is such a happy kiddo and loves going to daycare. Highly recommended!!!

Our 3 and a half year journey at this centre has been outstanding. We have a child with additional needs. They have been supportive of his challenges, and incredibly willing to learn how to care for his increasing sensory needs. Throughout the years, they have been extremely sensitive and communicative about their strategies and goals, to assist him to have the best possible experience in the day care setting. We will never forget what they have done for us. Highly recommend!

I would like to commend Guardian Altona North for a positive experience for our family. From the front office staff to the kinder Emu Room, all staff were caring, considerate and communicative, particularly during this challenging year. I would like to make a special mention of Mary and Rachel at the front office and particularly Hemali and Ri in the kinder Emu Room. Thank you for looking after us and providing a fun and supportive learning environment for my boy. Thank you.

We are more than happy with the quality of care provided at Guardian Altona North (formally Early Learners). We were hesitant at first coming from a small regional town where we experienced a much smaller childcare centre, but our worries were wiped away by the friendly faces that greeted us! This was two years ago, and we have since enrolled our second little one here. Yes the centre is big and there are a lot of children and families, but we feel the educators there all make the time for every child. The kinder program is also amazing! Even in the midst of a global pandemic, we feel confident that our kindy is prepared for school next year.

We sent our daughter to this childcare for about a year and loved it. The Carers and management are excellent. It was daunting as a first time mum to leave my child with others but from orientation through to my daughters last day I felt completely at ease and comfortable. We are moving abroad otherwise we would be staying with the centre all the way through to kindy.

We sent our daughter and son to this daycare and have had only ever had positive experiences. The staff are experienced and supported the development of my children both emotionally and academically. When one has to leave their children it’s always with a level of trepidation and concern, however, this was quickly allayed with the amazing people who looked after them. Amazing experience, from Mary’s warm greeting at the front office, to each individual staff in the rooms. The kinder program also needs a mention, as my daughter began prep this year so prepared. Thank you again to the team there.

My son has been at Guardian Early Learners for a year and half now. We have had only positive experiences there and intend to start our second son soon. The staff are friendly, supportive and nuturing. I love how they keep us updated on what activities the kids get up each day via their online platform. There are lots of outdoor space for the kids to run around. The centre organises events throughout the year where families can meet educators and carers and have a play with the kids, such as Mother's Day, Father's Day, Grandparents Day, Xmas Concert and Graduation Day, etc. I highly recommend booking a tour to see if this centre suits your family.

We could not be happier with our experience at Early Learners! The staff are friendly, welcoming and always keep the children engaged in something fun. I love how the teachers take note of what the children are actually interested in and tailor their days to keep them engaged in fun & educational activities. There is plenty of outdoor space & the kids love the gardening projects they can get involved in.

I'm so thrilled with my experience at Early Learners. My son attended the centre from 18months until he attended school. The staff there are so nurturing and supportive and guided him through both, emotional and educational development. He was so thoroughly prepared for school that the transition was very smooth. Both my son and I often talk about the centre and staff with such fond memories, I can't thank them enough.

Our LO started with the team at Early Learners when she was just 15 months old, and having already had two open heart surgeries in her so far short life. The team there were incredible, not deterred by the issues she faced at that time, and were an integral part of her daily life, both physically and mentally.Every year, and through her kinder years, the team continued to be a monumental part of our village raising our child. Our LO has now started prep school, but we are always welcomed back if we want to pop in and say hi and see our old teachers.

Rhythm of the Day

We know children (and families) like routine. Whilst no two days of learning are ever the same - here's what a day at Guardian might look like.

Morning

Our friendly Nursery team of familiar educators will be there to greet you and support your baby to settle in for the day.  Breakfast time is available & families are welcome to stay and enjoy with the children. This is also a great chance for conversation to share what is important and how your baby’s night at home was.

Mid-Morning

Our nursery learning environments are set up indoors and outdoors for your baby to engage with a variety of planned experiences while they interact with our team such as exploring picture books, singing songs together. We also offer morning tea.

Middle of the Day

Dependent on the needs of every baby, we time lunch to suit the children. Team members will support your child to eat and/or have a bottle, and when they are ready, are gently settled for sleep or rest. With an open-door policy, families can enjoy lunch/bottle time with your baby if you wish.

Mid-Afternoon

Our nursery planned experiences (both indoor and outdoor) continue and there are opportunities for movement, playing games, more books and songs, or sensory exploration. Afternoon snack is provided.

End of Day

We’ll have your baby’s belongings ready for you at pick up time. The Nursery team will share information about your baby’s day and their learning, preparing you and your child for a smooth transition to your evening. Please grab a piece of fruit or snack on the way out!

Altona North Centre Manager Image

Hayat and team

Our Centre team, led by our experienced Centre Manager Hayat, prides themselves on creating a great sense of community for all families.

Each role in the Centre is designed to work together to help create a nurturing environment for every child in each of our learning spaces.

In our Nursery Room, the dedicated team has a special role in creating secure attachments, routines, and strong relationships. Unique to Guardian nurseries is our Baby Ambassador, who is your go-to person for you and your baby’s first 12 months with us. They will know every detail about your baby: how breast or bottle milk is managed, how they like to eat, their sleeping routines, the nappies they wear, and more. With babies as young as six weeks in the Centre, it’s the Baby Ambassador’s job to work with families and Educators to help make our Nursery feel just like home.

Our Educators across the age groups work together to create fun, stimulating, and age-appropriate experiences for every child in their care. They are dedicated, experienced professionals who are allocated to a specific room so they can get to know each child individually and support their learning and development.

As part of our 2-year Flying Start to School program, we have degree-qualified Teachers who use the latest teaching practices to help your child build essential practical and social skills, ensuring they’re ready for their next big adventure—school!

Each room has a Lead Educator or Teacher who is responsible for planning and implementing an effective ongoing cycle of planning, documentation, and evaluation of the room’s learning program.

At the core of the Centre is our Cook—make sure you check out their daily menu when you visit. They help make food part of the learning journey and love seeing how children respond to new and exciting flavours.

The team is supported by a strong Leadership Team, including an Assistant Centre Manager and an Educational Leader.

Every role at the Centre is as important as the next.

How will you share updates about my child’s day?

Great communication is vital in our collaborative partnerships with families at the Centre. We have a variety of different ways we communicate with you about your child’s learning and progress:

  1. Storypark app - Stay connected to your child's day with regular updates, including photos and learning insights

  2. Pick-up and drop-off updates – Our Educators will share highlights from their day, including experiences they enjoyed, mealtimes, and naps to support your evening routine.

  3. In-room learning exchange displays make our weekly learning plans easy to see so you know what your child will be learning.

  4. Centre Newsletters – Great for community connection and wider Centre and team updates.

  5. Development documentation and meetings for your individual child’s progress.

But remember our door is always open.
