The centre looks really nice and tidy, my daughter started when she's around 7 months, although she only comes one day a week, the educators will always includes her, writing observation and you can really see how they cared and love to be around children. The educators always very helpful, happy, and positive. The CM also very thoughtful, supportive and always communicating everything that happened in the centre. I'm glad that my daughter becomes a part of George Street community! 😍

My daughter thoroughly enjoys her time at George Street. It’s a beautiful, spacious centre with plenty of room for the children to play, explore, and learn. We especially love the excursion program, which gives the children opportunities to get out and engage with the community. It’s been a wonderful experience for our family!

The best childcare ever! My son started in the Nursery room and has moved through to the Toddler room and soon to be the Pre-school room. He has been supported in every way possible by the amazing educators. He even comes home and says how much he loves his different teachers. He is exposed to so much culture and creativity and is really thriving at Guardian. Thank you!

Our daughter has been here since she was about 9.5 months old (now she’s almost 2.5 yrs) & has always been take care of by the educators. Never had an issue with anything, honestly everyone has been super friendly, professional and communication has been good.Convenient locations for those who work in the CBD & easy to get to via Town Hall station on rainy days (don’t even have to go to the street level).I do think the StoryPark app could be a bit more better but no real complaints.

The whole Guardian team at George Street not only look after the kids, but also the parents. The team communicate well with us, parents, to ensure that we are all on the same page. They always make room for the kids to improve and develop. And they always give us a warm welcome when we arrive for the day!

Can I just say that I have bragged and bragged about how amazing your centre is to anyone and everyone. Your teachers are fantastic, the food preparation is done with love and I can tell your teachers are genuinely interested in the development of the children's skills. I enjoy the photos that are put up on story park, this makes me feel like I am not missing out whilst having to work and being away from my kid. The photos also assist me in gauging what my son is learning and what interests him. Thank you for being so wonderful. I am very happy with my decision in moving across to Guardian George Street.

The center not only provide high quality, clean environment for children to learn and grow but also all staffs have been very professional, caring, patient towards children. My experience at George St has been really positive- I currently have two children attending the toddler and Preschool rooms respectively. You can tell how passionate and caring the educators are and really provide each child with the attention they need and build on their interests. I have been a parent here since 2017 and have never been happier with the level of care my children are receiving.

I'd highly recommend Guardian on George St. When our little girl first joined in January 2020, it was a little challenging to settle in given that we have just moved from overseas and she missed her friends. But the educators had such a personalised way to make her feel comfortable. Every morning, Ella now asks if she can go to "school" (even on weekends) which is a real reflection on how much she loves it there. She talks about her educators and all her friends everyday which really reflects the sense of community and belonging. Her growth and development has improved dramatically. She's always very curious to learn, she loves arts & craft and trying to learn to read & write. I even asked one of our educators to help her with more words in Mandarin given there is a carer who speaks fluent Chinese and now Ella can count to 10 in just a few weeks. It's a very personalised approach to her ongoing education and I would highly recommend this centre.

Fantastic service! Our daughter has been with them since 9 months old, and has 1 year to go. We have never had an issue, the staff are welcoming and friendly. Our daughter loves going so much that she hates to leave at night which is encouraging. The things she learns, and is taught at daycare could never be re created in the home environment. Give them a go, you seriously won’t be disappointed!! 10/10

My son and I have been fortunate enough to be a part of the George Street community for over a year now. I have experience in the early years sector, so selecting that second home for my child was something I took very seriously – George Street is one of the best I toured and the decision to enrol was a given from the moment we walked through the doors. George Street are part of the Guardian family and to me, this means a level of quality and excellence is strived for. They take my child’s dietary needs seriously and communicate with us regularly about any little changes that arise – the communication across all aspects of my child’s day make it easier for my at drop off and pick up, I don’t ever need to worry. The educators are intuitive to both my child and my own needs, they reach out to make sure we are okay and getting what we need. The program experiences, goal setting and learning environments are warm, clean and connected to each child. I couldn’t recommend George Street any higher – they are worth every penny!

Guardian George St ELC is a wonderful childcare! Rhiannon and team have taken great care of Trisha. I was first worried about the transition to childcare; but I shouldn't have been, Trisha has settled in really really well. With all the fun learning activities, great facilities and yummy menu, Trisha has been enjoying her childcare days. And we are enjoying the constant updates and pictures in Storypark too. I feel like I am not missing out on anything. To Rhiannon and team, thank you so much!

Found the centre via careforkids and was initially drawn by the excellent ratings across all areas of the National Quality Standard - but was quickly won over by the open communication and level of care displayed while visiting. Having enrolled bub, I am consistently impressed by the quality of interactions with staff and ongoing communications - from weekly activity program plans to daily activity / menu updates and more, all of which helped put my mind at ease when bub is away. The flexible casual day booking options are fantastic to have! And needless to say, the facilities are excellent and attention to safety particularly reassuring during COVID times.

We enrolled our son when he was 6 months old. This was after considerable research and visits to few other centres in the area. Three years later, we are still happy with our decision. The educators are very attentive, caring and for me, that is most important. :)

We are have such a positive experience with the George Street Early Learning Centre. It is a big decision to entrust someone with your child, but the staff are fantastic, and we truly feel he is loved and well cared for there. There is a large focus on educational outcomes (with ample opportunity for parent's input), great energy put into developing nutritious meals, and a wonderful space to play (this was a huge factor for us, as many of the other centres in the city don't have the space for children to really run around, and don't have an outdoor area - which we think is necessary).Another huge plus for us is that our son is alongside our offices in the city - and it's nice to have him close-by!

We were visiting Sydney from the US and needed childcare for our daughters (2 and 5 year olds). We found the George Street Early Learning Centre from the careforkids.com.au website and couldn't have been more pleased. The teachers made our girls feel very welcome and they had no trouble transitioning. We highly recommend the center.

We moved from Elizabeth St ELC (Also Guardian) in September 2020 following the closure of that site. With some changes of staff at George St which is always unsettling as a parent, the centre appointed an excellent leader with an expert team of staff that all seem passionate about what they do. Our daughter attends pre-school where there is an excellent structured (but play-based) learning programme - if I was to add her feedback, it would be that she wished it was open on the weekend!! Other items to note are the food choices, the daily comms via the Storypark app, the formal and informal comms from the centre manager and her team which are always clear and the welcome you get when arriving for drop-off/pick-up.

Both my child and I love this centre. She settled down very quickly when she first came to centre. The educators build very strong relationships with my child and they know her so well. I also found the health standard for the centre is excellent and the space, the setup, and the resources are great for the children.

Rhythm of the Day

We know children (and families) like routine. Whilst no two days of learning are ever the same - here's what a day at Guardian might look like.

Morning

Our friendly Nursery team of familiar educators will be there to greet you and support your baby to settle in for the day.  Breakfast time is available & families are welcome to stay and enjoy with the children. This is also a great chance for conversation to share what is important and how your baby’s night at home was.

Mid-Morning

Our nursery learning environments are set up indoors and outdoors for your baby to engage with a variety of planned experiences while they interact with our team such as exploring picture books, singing songs together. We also offer morning tea.

Middle of the Day

Dependent on the needs of every baby, we time lunch to suit the children. Team members will support your child to eat and/or have a bottle, and when they are ready, are gently settled for sleep or rest. With an open-door policy, families can enjoy lunch/bottle time with your baby if you wish.

Mid-Afternoon

Our nursery planned experiences (both indoor and outdoor) continue and there are opportunities for movement, playing games, more books and songs, or sensory exploration. Afternoon snack is provided.

End of Day

We’ll have your baby’s belongings ready for you at pick up time. The Nursery team will share information about your baby’s day and their learning, preparing you and your child for a smooth transition to your evening. Please grab a piece of fruit or snack on the way out!

George Street Centre Manager Image

Giulia and team

Our Centre team, led by our experienced Centre Manager Giulia, prides themselves on creating a great sense of community for all families.

Each role in the Centre is designed to work together to help create a nurturing environment for every child in each of our learning spaces.

In our Nursery Room, the dedicated team has a special role in creating secure attachments, routines, and strong relationships. Unique to Guardian nurseries is our Baby Ambassador, who is your go-to person for you and your baby’s first 12 months with us. They will know every detail about your baby: how breast or bottle milk is managed, how they like to eat, their sleeping routines, the nappies they wear, and more. With babies as young as six weeks in the Centre, it’s the Baby Ambassador’s job to work with families and Educators to help make our Nursery feel just like home.

Our Educators across the age groups work together to create fun, stimulating, and age-appropriate experiences for every child in their care. They are dedicated, experienced professionals who are allocated to a specific room so they can get to know each child individually and support their learning and development.

As part of our 2-year Flying Start to School program, we have degree-qualified Teachers who use the latest teaching practices to help your child build essential practical and social skills, ensuring they’re ready for their next big adventure—school!

Each room has a Lead Educator or Teacher who is responsible for planning and implementing an effective ongoing cycle of planning, documentation, and evaluation of the room’s learning program.

At the core of the Centre is our Cook—make sure you check out their daily menu when you visit. They help make food part of the learning journey and love seeing how children respond to new and exciting flavours.

The team is supported by a strong Leadership Team, including an Assistant Centre Manager and an Educational Leader.

Every role at the Centre is as important as the next.

How will you share updates about my child’s day?

Great communication is vital in our collaborative partnerships with families at the Centre. We have a variety of different ways we communicate with you about your child’s learning and progress:

  1. Storypark app - Stay connected to your child's day with regular updates, including photos and learning insights

  2. Pick-up and drop-off updates – Our Educators will share highlights from their day, including experiences they enjoyed, mealtimes, and naps to support your evening routine.

  3. In-room learning exchange displays make our weekly learning plans easy to see so you know what your child will be learning.

  4. Centre Newsletters – Great for community connection and wider Centre and team updates.

  5. Development documentation and meetings for your individual child’s progress.

But remember our door is always open.
