We have been part of the Guardian Preston West family for almost 3 years and absolutely love this centre. My daughter started when she was 2 and as a parent new to the early childhood environment I was so nervous to send her, however, she had the most warm and beautiful educator, Julie, who went above and beyond to comfort, educate and nurture her. My daughter was lucky enough to have Julie for 2 years and we were so excited for this. Julie brings a wonderful program, implementing a strong indigenous connection to her learning, giving the children so much wonderful knowledge and experiences. When it was time for my second child to start care I didn’t hesitate to send him, based on my experience with Julie and the wonderful management team I knew my babies were going to be looked after and loved, my second child had Penny and Thanusha, they were wonderful and welcoming, communication was fantastic and when I would pick him up from his room in the afternoon he was always clean and his bag packed ready to go home. For his second year he had the wonderful Krystiana, Renee and June, who were just as wonderful, they were organised, always had fun and engaging experiences ready for the children and were so easy to talk to.We have been so fortunate in our amazing experience at this centre and are so grateful of the family we have created through this service. We cant wait for the year ahead.

My children have attended this centre spanning over 7 years. The centre is always clean and presentable. The rooms are always changing to keep children engaged with interests they are showing at the time. All staff are wonderful with the children. There is minimal turnover in staff which I love for my children, and for me, it shows that they are happy to be there, which makes for a happy environment. There is a strong sense of warmth and care. I highly rate the communication received on a daily basis. My children and I strongly recommend this centre.

As a new Parent placing my Child into care was hard and I looked at around 15 childcare centres in and around my area. I found Guardian Preston West the best, I felt that the atmosphere of the centre was warm with Educators and children happy and enthusiastic. I found the management staff very easy to get along with and happy to take the time with each interaction they had from families to staff. I find the communication from center Management comprehensive and very easy to access. I love having daily updates of what my little has been up to each day along with a lesson plan, sleep times, bottle/food times and special moments via video and photos. We have been able to work with our educators on a particular sleep schedule along with reusable nappies our family uses. After a few months at Guardian Preston West my Child has settled into their Community and I can see his understanding of his surroundings growing with the genital encouragement of the educators. My Childs favourite activity is the 1980's projector they use as shadow play, thing like this sets Preston West apart.I trust my educators, as they are an extension of our family and who my Child counts as there safe guardians while Mum and Dad are away.

Couldn’t recommend highly enough!! Amazing and kind educators and great staff that are always going above and beyond to make our children feel safe and secure in their environment. They communicate really well the daily experiences of the child, and often go above and beyond showing cognitive advancements and interests with specific videos and reflections on them which make us feel so happy and included to see!! They have worked so well with our eldest in helping him become more confident and social with others and with his overall sense of belonging. We really love Guardian and all it’s done for helping in the development of our little people and how much joy it’s brought to them in sending them there. Thank you!!

Best daycare ever!! I’ve had one child there for three years and second baby for 6 months. Centre management is absolutely fantastic. The place is run so smoothly and efficiently. And the educators are wonderful. They truly care for your children, and also teach them so well! It’s not easy dropping your babies in care but this centre makes it easy.

When your 2.5 year old comes home from childcare every day with a big smile and raves about his carers and friends you know youve found a good match. Since minute one I’ve been so impressed with guardian Preston west. It is a very professionally run centre delivering high quality care, always with a big smile. My son is always excited to go and we as parents receive such detailed wrap ups of each day, you really feel like you’re along for the ride. Can’t speak more highly of it.

Rhythm of the Day

We know children (and families) like routine. Whilst no two days of learning are ever the same - here's what a day at Guardian might look like.

Morning

Our friendly Nursery team of familiar educators will be there to greet you and support your baby to settle in for the day.  Breakfast time is available & families are welcome to stay and enjoy with the children. This is also a great chance for conversation to share what is important and how your baby’s night at home was.

Mid-Morning

Our nursery learning environments are set up indoors and outdoors for your baby to engage with a variety of planned experiences while they interact with our team such as exploring picture books, singing songs together. We also offer morning tea.

Middle of the Day

Dependent on the needs of every baby, we time lunch to suit the children. Team members will support your child to eat and/or have a bottle, and when they are ready, are gently settled for sleep or rest. With an open-door policy, families can enjoy lunch/bottle time with your baby if you wish.

Mid-Afternoon

Our nursery planned experiences (both indoor and outdoor) continue and there are opportunities for movement, playing games, more books and songs, or sensory exploration. Afternoon snack is provided.

End of Day

We’ll have your baby’s belongings ready for you at pick up time. The Nursery team will share information about your baby’s day and their learning, preparing you and your child for a smooth transition to your evening. Please grab a piece of fruit or snack on the way out!

Jacqueline and team

Our Centre team, led by our experienced Centre Manager Jacqueline, prides themselves on creating a great sense of community for all families.

Each role in the Centre is designed to work together to help create a nurturing environment for every child in each of our learning spaces.

In our Nursery Room, the dedicated team has a special role in creating secure attachments, routines, and strong relationships. Unique to Guardian nurseries is our Baby Ambassador, who is your go-to person for you and your baby’s first 12 months with us. They will know every detail about your baby: how breast or bottle milk is managed, how they like to eat, their sleeping routines, the nappies they wear, and more. With babies as young as six weeks in the Centre, it’s the Baby Ambassador’s job to work with families and Educators to help make our Nursery feel just like home.

Our Educators across the age groups work together to create fun, stimulating, and age-appropriate experiences for every child in their care. They are dedicated, experienced professionals who are allocated to a specific room so they can get to know each child individually and support their learning and development.

As part of our 2-year Flying Start to School program, we have degree-qualified Teachers who use the latest teaching practices to help your child build essential practical and social skills, ensuring they’re ready for their next big adventure—school!

Each room has a Lead Educator or Teacher who is responsible for planning and implementing an effective ongoing cycle of planning, documentation, and evaluation of the room’s learning program.

At the core of the Centre is our Cook—make sure you check out their daily menu when you visit. They help make food part of the learning journey and love seeing how children respond to new and exciting flavours.

The team is supported by a strong Leadership Team, including an Assistant Centre Manager and an Educational Leader.

Every role at the Centre is as important as the next.

How will you share updates about my child’s day?

Great communication is vital in our collaborative partnerships with families at the Centre. We have a variety of different ways we communicate with you about your child’s learning and progress:

  1. Storypark app - Stay connected to your child's day with regular updates, including photos and learning insights

  2. Pick-up and drop-off updates – Our Educators will share highlights from their day, including experiences they enjoyed, mealtimes, and naps to support your evening routine.

  3. In-room learning exchange displays make our weekly learning plans easy to see so you know what your child will be learning.

  4. Centre Newsletters – Great for community connection and wider Centre and team updates.

  5. Development documentation and meetings for your individual child’s progress.

But remember our door is always open.
