We have been at this centre since 2020 with my daughter who is now in school, and my son now attends the toddler classroom. The current manager Ha is absolutely fantastic and you can tell she is committed and passionate about building an excellent team and centre. They are continually offering more for the kids with incursions and excursions, amazing food, and regular events. Most importantly I know they genuinely know my son and care for him, and are very open and communicative with updates and any queries I have.

I can't recommend this place enough. Our daughter has been thriving here since the day she started when she was 9 months old. The loving care from the educators and manager is outstanding, you can tell they love what they do and put their hearts into their work. It is evident that our daughter feels safe and confident and is being well supported in her progress and growth. The center has a massive beautiful natural outdoor area and well equipped and clean indoor areas. Thank you, we appreciate everything you do!

We have had our two kids through Guardian Camberwell (previously Tiggers) since our first was a baby in 2018. As with most childcare centres, we have seen ups and downs throughout the years, but there’s definitely been a big change for the better in more recent times. The centre is bright, clean and well equipped with fun and educational toys, there is a huge outdoor area that all the kids love, an on-site chef preparing a variety of tasty and nutritious food, plenty of fun incursions and excursions as well as special family events through the year, engaged & friendly educators who make a real effort to get to know the all the children and their families, and an amazing centre manager & support team (Communication is excellent!) Would definitely recommend Guardian Camberwell, it’s been a great centre for our family.

We have been so incredibly happy with our daughters time here, she has been so happy & really thrived at Guardian Camberwell. The center provides such a positive & nurturing environment, and we have been really impressed with the activities, excursions & food and particularly happy with the full time access to outdoor play.We can't even single out a particular teacher that has impressed as every single teacher over the 2 years of her enrollment has been just as outstanding, nurturing and caring and seemed genuinely invested in her happiness. So thank you so much for taking such great care of our daughter!

Steph and the tram are amazing and they have support our son journey since 8 months old. He is maturing into a well rounded toddler and is learning so much in life skills as well as education requirements. He loves the Japanese lessons especially in light of the Tokyo Olympics .

As a first time parent finding a good childcare was really important to us. After a lot of searching we decided on Camberwell Guardian. As soon as we walked in for our tour we had a great vibe and feel of the place. Everything was clean, calm and organized, with educators playing with the babies on the floor, reading books, playing with toys. My husband and I knew straight away that this was the place for us, we spent the walk home hoping that we could get in because places are limited. Thankfully, we were able to get our son in on our preferred days and didn’t have to split him between 2 childcares. The educators in the rooms are so kind and caring and always greet us with a smile and a hello in the morning. As both my husband and I are working fulltime, we are often one of the last parents to do pick up and the educators always have the time to debrief about the day have a chat, tell me what my son was up to that day and how he is progressing and who his friends are. Our son really does have a great bond with them, and his little face just lights up when he sees them.Being born in Covid times he didn’t have much of a chance to engage with others, so he did take a couple of weeks to adjust to his new daycare routine, the educators took the time to gain his trust and work with him. Our son wouldn’t eat a lot at daycare at the begin due to the stress of the new environment but the educators will always offer him his favourite things even if not on the menu for that day so he would have something. He is now eating everything at daycare and having second helpings! We look forward everyday to the Storypark updates and as soon as the notification pops up on our phones we drop everything to have a look at what our son has been up to. We love looking at the photos of him playing with the other babies and educators and can see that he is having a great day.Communication from Steph the Centre Manager is amazing. She knows every parent and child’s name and will always greet us in the morning. She is quick to respond and gives thorough updates, in fact I just wait for the email from Steph to find out what the latest Covid restrictions are instead of trying to figure out the everchanging restrictions. There have been a few occasions when I have had to put Dean in an additional day and Steph has been so accommodating. We really love everything about Guardian Camberwell and I tell everyone how much our son loves it and I honestly recommend it

Rhythm of the Day

We know children (and families) like routine. Whilst no two days of learning are ever the same - here's what a day at Guardian might look like.

Morning

Our friendly Nursery team of familiar educators will be there to greet you and support your baby to settle in for the day.  Breakfast time is available & families are welcome to stay and enjoy with the children. This is also a great chance for conversation to share what is important and how your baby’s night at home was.

Mid-Morning

Our nursery learning environments are set up indoors and outdoors for your baby to engage with a variety of planned experiences while they interact with our team such as exploring picture books, singing songs together. We also offer morning tea.

Middle of the Day

Dependent on the needs of every baby, we time lunch to suit the children. Team members will support your child to eat and/or have a bottle, and when they are ready, are gently settled for sleep or rest. With an open-door policy, families can enjoy lunch/bottle time with your baby if you wish.

Mid-Afternoon

Our nursery planned experiences (both indoor and outdoor) continue and there are opportunities for movement, playing games, more books and songs, or sensory exploration. Afternoon snack is provided.

End of Day

We’ll have your baby’s belongings ready for you at pick up time. The Nursery team will share information about your baby’s day and their learning, preparing you and your child for a smooth transition to your evening. Please grab a piece of fruit or snack on the way out!

Camberwell Centre Manager Image

Ha and the team

Our Centre team, led by our experienced Centre Manager Hathe, prides themselves on creating a great sense of community for all families.

Each role in the Centre is designed to work together to help create a nurturing environment for every child in each of our learning spaces.

In our Nursery Room, the dedicated team has a special role in creating secure attachments, routines, and strong relationships. Unique to Guardian nurseries is our Baby Ambassador, who is your go-to person for you and your baby’s first 12 months with us. They will know every detail about your baby: how breast or bottle milk is managed, how they like to eat, their sleeping routines, the nappies they wear, and more. With babies as young as six weeks in the Centre, it’s the Baby Ambassador’s job to work with families and Educators to help make our Nursery feel just like home.

Our Educators across the age groups work together to create fun, stimulating, and age-appropriate experiences for every child in their care. They are dedicated, experienced professionals who are allocated to a specific room so they can get to know each child individually and support their learning and development.

As part of our 2-year Flying Start to School program, we have degree-qualified Teachers who use the latest teaching practices to help your child build essential practical and social skills, ensuring they’re ready for their next big adventure—school!

Each room has a Lead Educator or Teacher who is responsible for planning and implementing an effective ongoing cycle of planning, documentation, and evaluation of the room’s learning program.

At the core of the Centre is our Cook—make sure you check out their daily menu when you visit. They help make food part of the learning journey and love seeing how children respond to new and exciting flavours.

The team is supported by a strong Leadership Team, including an Assistant Centre Manager and an Educational Leader.

Every role at the Centre is as important as the next.

How will you share updates about my child’s day?

Great communication is vital in our collaborative partnerships with families at the Centre. We have a variety of different ways we communicate with you about your child’s learning and progress:

  1. Storypark app - Stay connected to your child's day with regular updates, including photos and learning insights

  2. Pick-up and drop-off updates – Our Educators will share highlights from their day, including experiences they enjoyed, mealtimes, and naps to support your evening routine.

  3. In-room learning exchange displays make our weekly learning plans easy to see so you know what your child will be learning.

  4. Centre Newsletters – Great for community connection and wider Centre and team updates.

  5. Development documentation and meetings for your individual child’s progress.

But remember our door is always open.

Our specialist two-year program is committed to supporting your child as they prepare for big school. We focus on nurturing their confidence, making friends and social emotional growth while also supporting their abilities in reading, writing, counting, and thinking skills. Whether it’s building with blocks, practicing their first letters, or learning to share with friends, every experience is carefully designed to support your child’s development.

Out and about

Through excursions, children are supported to expand their world, to get to know their community, and have a sense of belonging. Their learning thrives when they feel safe, welcome, and that they belong.

STEM

Children discover the wonders of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics through age-appropriate activities that are designed to foster curiosity and develop foundational skills like problem-solving and creativity.

Cooking

Cooking experiences teach numeracy by counting ingredients, and weighing and measuring quantities and volume, while managing these tasks supports independence and confidence.

Ella Language

Learning languages through Early Learning Languages Australia (ELLA) supports brain development and social skills and creates opportunities to celebrate cultural diversity.

Joy of Reading

Reading aloud to children each day inspires imagination and supports thinking. Books with rhythm, rhyme and word patterns make stories more playful and memorable.

Sustainability

From growing veggies and foraging in the garden for that day’s meal ingredients to learning about recycling, children learn about being part of a community, connecting to their environment and understanding their impact on the world.
