We are extremely happy with everything at Guardian Balmain. The centre is wonderful in every aspect, the children enjoy freshly made, on-site meals, and the educators are absolutely fantastic. One thing we truly value is the stability of the staff, which makes such a difference for both the children and the families.

The centre also has a spacious outdoor area where the children can play and explore, and the toys and educational resources are constantly being upgraded, keeping the environment engaging, stimulating, and age appropriate.

Communication with parents is excellent. The team genuinely listens, actively asks for feedback and ideas, and most importantly, actually puts them into action, which makes us feel very heard and involved.

A special mention to Maria, who always goes above and beyond her responsibilities. She is incredibly caring, approachable, and always happy to stop for a chat. Her dedication really stands out.

This childcare centre was our first visit when looking for a place for our daughter to spend the day and learn with other kids in the local community. We didn’t go anywhere else after the tour, the staff was great and welcoming, the facilities are clean. We are very happy with this place to be our girl’s first learning centre. My little one started going here when he was 10 months old. Even though it took him about four months to really stop crying when I was dropping him off, after just a few weeks I already saw him enjoying the place at pickup time. After a few months, he would run away from me every time he saw me coming for him — at least that was a good sign he didn’t want to leave!

All the amenities are in good condition, and their open backyard is where my boy enjoys himself the most. The educators are lovely, and he has already bonded with a few of them. I love the fact that I receive daily photos of my toddler — seeing him grow and enjoy time with his peers makes my day.

I’ve had a good experience here, and I can tell everyone takes great care of him, always greeting him with a big smile and a warm welcome.

Special thanks to Maria, who from day one made me feel absolutely comfortable when she showed me around, giving me the trust that my boy would be in a good place.

The staff at Guardian have been so welcoming of our daughter who started in their care from 12months. She feels very much at home here, the centre has an amazing philosophy for the children they care for which is reflected in our (now almost 2 year old) eagerness to head here on her daycare days. Both of my kids loved their time at Balmain Cove over the last 3 years. The staff is very supportive and make sure each child's individual needs were met. My son absolutely adores Guardian at Balmain Cove. Every staff member I've dealt with particularly Carla, Georgia and Prash have been so kind, understanding and ready to welcome my son with open arms.
Each day we get a beautiful update including photos of the kids and what they have been upto that day.
My son loves every meal he gets so much so he often has seconds, thank you Lisa.
The kids have so much space both indoors and outdoors to roam and explore safely.
The staff have gone out of their way to make my son feel happy, safe and cared for and they've spent time really getting to know him.

Our son started at another local daycare before Guardian however after a few months we moved him to Guardian Balmain Cove and we're so glad we did.

We have been so impressed with the facility and the Staff and our son has loved attending - and we have loved seeing the little updates each day online.

Although all the staff have been amazing, Prash, Carla and Georgia have made everything so easy for us and helped our Son settle so quickly.

My 10 month old son absolutely loves it there. Every singe person I’ve interacted with there has been so kind and invested in ensuring he has a good time every visit. They’re extremely easy to speak with and love sharing stories and photos of the fun he’s having there. He loves the food, thank you Lisa. Management are all exceptional and very personable. The space itself is so fun and dynamic. The outside space is great and my son lives the sandpit. Overall, a fun, caring and educational space where I’m more than happy to send my baby each day.

We've been at this centre for over a year with my then 1 year old and 3 year old. Very happy with the care they get, the teachers are intuitive and really bond with the kids. Theyve got nice facilities, including a garden and worm farm, they do good activities and my son even goes swimming with them via jump, which is awesome. Lovely community of parents too.

Rhythm of the Day

We know children and families like routine, so you will always receive a warm welcome each morning and an invitation to stay for breakfast. At the end of the day, a smooth transition is assured with your child’s belongings ready for you after a day that fulfils your child's interests and curiosity. In between, the day is filled with new and exciting experiences to engage young minds as part of their early childhood education. Here’s a glimpse of what a day of play-based learning at our childcare centre often looks like.

Morning

Breakfast time provides a great chance for you to share what is important and how your baby’s night at home was.

Mid-Morning

Your baby will enjoy engaging in both our indoor and outdoor nursery environments with planned experiences like songs and story time, followed by morning tea.

Middle of the Day

Your baby’s lunch times will suit their needs, and with our open-door policy, families are welcome to enjoy lunch/bottle time with your baby. When your baby is ready, they are gently settled for sleep and rest.

Mid-Afternoon

Our planned indoor and outdoor nursery experiences continue with the chance for movement, games and more books and songs, with an afternoon snack provided.

End of Day

The Nursery team are eager to share information about your baby’s day and their learning, preparing you and your baby for a smooth transition to your evening.

What we do to keep children safe

Create Safe Spaces & Practices

  • Nappy change areas are designed to have visibility windows and are set up for maximum supervision
  • Our policies also cater for team members being in sight or sound of another team member at all times.
  • Safety embedded in daily programs – by conducting daily checklists, comprehensive risk assessments, and more
  • personal phones or devices are not allowed in learning spaces.

Safe People Who Follow Safe Policies

  • Working With Children Checks for all team members. Automatic alerts if a WWCC is revoked and team member not eligible for shifts
  • Rigorous reference checks – must provide previous line managers for their past roles
  • Annual compulsory Suitability Declarations to confirm ongoing fitness to work with children
  • Mandatory reporting and speaking up – report concerns immediately and all concerns will be investigated fully
  • Ongoing mandatory training in child safety, including annual refreshers and leadership-specific modules

  • All tradespeople must provide a WWCC & complete Guardian-specific induction.

Daily Rates

Our daily rates are all inclusive and have no additional charges for incursions / excursions or any of our learning programs. The rates shown are an estimate based on using Childcare Subsidy (CCS) subsidised hours. The CCS helps lower your out-of-pocket costs, with subsidy rates dependant on your individual family eligibility levels.

Great communication is vital in our collaborative partnerships with families at the Centre. We have a variety of different ways we communicate with you about your child’s learning and progress:


  1. Storypark app - Stay connected to your child's day with regular updates, including photos and learning insights

  2. Pick-up and drop-off updates – Our Educators will share highlights from their day, including experiences they enjoyed, mealtimes, and naps to support your evening routine.

  3. In-room learning exchange displays make our weekly learning plans easy to see so you know what your child will be learning.

  4. Centre Newsletters – Great for community connection and wider Centre and team updates.

  5. Development documentation and meetings for your individual child’s progress.

Preschool Program
Flying start to school

Our Flying Start to School preschool program is lead by degree qualified Teachers in a long day care setting. Our specialist two-year program is committed to supporting your child as they prepare for big school. We focus on nurturing their confidence, making friends and social emotional growth while also supporting their abilities in reading, writing, counting, and thinking skills. Whether it’s building with blocks, practicing their first letters, or learning to share with friends, every experience is carefully designed to support your child’s development.

Our Centre is a recipient of funding as part of the NSW Government’s Start Strong Program. Families can receive fee relief to reduce your out-of-pocket fees of up to $2174 per child aged 4 on or before 31 July 2025, and up to $515 per year for children aged 3 on or before 31 July 2025. Ask for more details when you tour the centre.

Out and about

Through excursions, children are supported to expand their world, to get to know their community, and have a sense of belonging. Their learning thrives when they feel safe, welcome, and that they belong.

Cooking

Cooking experiences teach numeracy by counting ingredients, and weighing and measuring quantities and volume, while managing these tasks supports independence and confidence.

Learning languages through Early Learning Languages Australia (ELLA) supports brain development and social skills and creates opportunities to celebrate cultural diversity.

Joy of Reading
