I cannot fault this childcare. It is so comforting to know our son is well taken care of. The childcare educators are amazing, if they have a concern with our son or his not acting in his normal behaviour they will call us to advise so.
Additionally, after every pick up they give me a summary of what has happened.
We really lucked out on our first childcare centre.

The childcare educators are so patient with our son, he is still adjusting to childcare. If he is upset they will try to calm him down, if they can't they will call us.
I see them hug him when I pick him up (he is young and wants comfort for security), they try to accommodate his need for comfort as much as possible; when their time permits.
It is reassuring they will love him and hold him to comfort him as you want your child to feel safe and not scared.

When we were first looking for a childcare it was so hard to find reviews to advice parents if a childcare centre is good or not.
Rest assured, your child is so safe, cared and loved here.

From the beginning, this centre has been more than childcare, it has truly become our village. We don’t have family here, and you can feel that same close-knit, supportive, family connection the moment you walk in.
Zoha, the Centre Manager, is incredibly approachable and always available for families. The way she supports her team is obvious, the educators are happy, motivated and give their best every single day. You can tell they feel valued, and that reflects directly in the beautiful care they provide.

The educators are warm, patient and genuinely invested in every child’s growth. My child feels safe, loved and excited to come in, which means everything to us.

Zohan the centre manager always keeps us well informed of any centre incidents or updates within 24hrs via email.
Our little family have had such a great experience as our child progressed from the baby room to the toddler room and now they are in the preschool room.
The preschool room staff are so friendly and keep us updated with our child's development and the activities they participated in during the day.
Also the meals served to the children are diverse and healthy and my picky son usually eats multiple serves!
Honestly the best childcare centre im Canberra.
So happy we decided to enrol our child here.

We first toured this centre some time ago and initially chose a different provider — but we quickly realised what was missing: the warmth, connection, and genuine care we felt from the moment we first walked into Wanniassa. Guardian Wanniassa has been an amazing experience for my son, Qaqa. He is always excited to go to the centre early morning, and it’s clear he loves the engaging and fun learning activities. The toddler educator and lead are all incredibly professional, always ensuring that the children are supported in a caring and nurturing environment.
He loved the food there and always have minimum 2-3 serves lol. Thanks to our wonderful chef and kitchen staff there.

My kid has quickly settled there within few weeks and now he enjoys his whole day. I highly recommend Guardian Wanniassa to any parent around who are looking for a fantastic childcare service and growth !!

Guardian childcare wanniassa has been providing excellent care/education services for my child since early 2022. She is always excited to go to “school”, has established positive relationship's with the wonderfull educators throughout the centre and is provided with ongoing education from social skills to numeracy and literacy (she is already writing, has alphabet and number recognition and can now write words from memory already). Educators are always happy to give feedback at the end of day, the kitchen is always spotless and the centre in general is very well maintained. Shout out to Zoha for her dedication to her staff and children under her care, you all play a pivotal role in helping to care for and educate my child.

I love this childcare! My child has been attending for over 12 months now, and I always have peace of mind knowing she is safe, well looked after and fed very well while in their care. I am always kept up to date with what is going in the centre and with my child. The facility is always clean, well presented, has loads of natural light and most importantly an amazing team of childcare workers. The childcare director Michelle, is such a lovely and welcoming face and runs the centre very well, ensuring the educators to child ratio is spot on. I 100% recommended!

Our son loves his time at Guardian Wanniassa. Staff are wonderful and are amazing with communication. They work hard to promote a sense of community throughout the centre. The centre is very clean and well run, and they’re always updating their resources.
As first time parents and our son’s first time in care, we have found the experience to be almost seamless, and they completely guided us in introducing him to the centre. He has learnt so much in the 6 months he’s been there, and we feel so fortunate to be apart of the Guardian community.

Guardian Wannissa a spectacular early learning centre where not only do our children learn and nourish in an inclusive and caring environment, but who's educators also feel like family to us.

our two Children Joey and Delilah both have attended the centre, have been taught and cared for at Wanniassa by a team of amazing educators.
it truly speaks volumes as a parent when your children are excited to go to school and give hugs to their educators, and on return after a long day are happy and smiling.

Michelle and her team have been like a family to us and after 5 years at the centre this is our last year as our little miss spreads her wings and moves on to preschool, all the skills she has learned at Guardian will certainly give her a great start on her new journey.

they are mainly good, they take care of my brother when he faeces on himself. he hasn't gotten tape worm and he returned home with all of his limbs each day. though his limbs may be contaminated with small human sicknesses.

Rhythm of the Day

We know children and families like routine, so you will always receive a warm welcome each morning and an invitation to stay for breakfast. At the end of the day, a smooth transition is assured with your child’s belongings ready for you after a day that fulfils your child's interests and curiosity. In between, the day is filled with new and exciting experiences to engage young minds as part of their early childhood education. Here’s a glimpse of what a day of play-based learning at our childcare centre often looks like.

Morning

Breakfast time provides a great chance for you to share what is important and how your baby’s night at home was.

Mid-Morning

Your baby will enjoy engaging in both our indoor and outdoor nursery environments with planned experiences like songs and story time, followed by morning tea.

Middle of the Day

Your baby’s lunch times will suit their needs, and with our open-door policy, families are welcome to enjoy lunch/bottle time with your baby. When your baby is ready, they are gently settled for sleep and rest.

Mid-Afternoon

Our planned indoor and outdoor nursery experiences continue with the chance for movement, games and more books and songs, with an afternoon snack provided.

End of Day

The Nursery team are eager to share information about your baby’s day and their learning, preparing you and your baby for a smooth transition to your evening.

What we do to keep children safe

Create Safe Spaces & Practices

  • Nappy change areas are designed to have visibility windows and are set up for maximum supervision
  • Our policies also cater for team members being in sight or sound of another team member at all times.
  • Safety embedded in daily programs – by conducting daily checklists, comprehensive risk assessments, and more
  • personal phones or devices are not allowed in learning spaces.

Safe People Who Follow Safe Policies

  • Working With Children Checks for all team members. Automatic alerts if a WWCC is revoked and team member not eligible for shifts
  • Rigorous reference checks – must provide previous line managers for their past roles
  • Annual compulsory Suitability Declarations to confirm ongoing fitness to work with children
  • Mandatory reporting and speaking up – report concerns immediately and all concerns will be investigated fully
  • Ongoing mandatory training in child safety, including annual refreshers and leadership-specific modules

  • All visitors must sign in and present photo ID before entry
  • All tradespeople must provide a WWCC & complete Guardian-specific induction.

Daily Rates

Our daily rates are all inclusive and have no additional charges for incursions / excursions or any of our learning programs. The rates shown are an estimate based on using Childcare Subsidy (CCS) subsidised hours. The CCS helps lower your out-of-pocket costs, with subsidy rates dependant on your individual family eligibility levels.

The ACT Government offers funding to provide families fee relief of up to $2575 for children who turn 3 on or before 30 April 2025. This provides families up to 300 hours of free preschool in 2025. Great communication is vital in our collaborative partnerships with families at the Centre. We have a variety of different ways we communicate with you about your child’s learning and progress:


  1. Storypark app - Stay connected to your child's day with regular updates, including photos and learning insights

  2. Pick-up and drop-off updates – Our Educators will share highlights from their day, including experiences they enjoyed, mealtimes, and naps to support your evening routine.

  3. In-room learning exchange displays make our weekly learning plans easy to see so you know what your child will be learning.

  4. Centre Newsletters – Great for community connection and wider Centre and team updates.

  5. Development documentation and meetings for your individual child’s progress.

Preschool Program
Flying start to school

Our Flying Start to School preschool program is lead by degree qualified Teachers in a long day care setting. Our specialist two-year program is committed to supporting your child as they prepare for big school. We focus on nurturing their confidence, making friends and social emotional growth while also supporting their abilities in reading, writing, counting, and thinking skills. Whether it’s building with blocks, practicing their first letters, or learning to share with friends, every experience is carefully designed to support your child’s development.

Our Centre is a recipient of funding as part of the ACT Government’s Three-Year-Old Preschool Program. In 2026 and 2027, eligible children who turn three years old on or before 30 April will receive up-to 300 hours of free Preschool subsidies to reduce your out-of-pocket fees. Ask for more details when you tour the centre.

Out and about

Through excursions, children are supported to expand their world, to get to know their community, and have a sense of belonging. Their learning thrives when they feel safe, welcome, and that they belong.

Cooking

Cooking experiences teach numeracy by counting ingredients, and weighing and measuring quantities and volume, while managing these tasks supports independence and confidence.

Ella Language

Learning languages through Early Learning Languages Australia (ELLA) supports brain development and social skills and creates opportunities to celebrate cultural diversity.

Joy of Reading

Reading aloud to children each day inspires imagination and supports thinking. Books with rhythm, rhyme and word patterns make stories more playful and memorable.

Sustainability
