Our Learning Environments

We know children thrive when they feel welcomed, safe, and inspired. That’s why each environment in our centres is carefully planned to spark imagination and support every child’s love of learning.
Tailored for Each Age and Stage
Nursery Rooms (0-2 years)
Our nursery rooms are calm, nurturing environments designed for the youngest learners. With soft furnishings, natural light, and gentle sensory materials, babies feel safe and cared for as they begin exploring their world.
Spaces are designed with safety and comfort in mind, most with cosy separate cot rooms and age-appropriate toys for sensory exploration.
Everything is scaled for baby’s needs, creating a warm and reassuring “first home away from home.”

Toddler Rooms (2-3 years)
Toddler rooms are active and engaging, designed to support growing independence, movement, and curiosity. Open play areas encourage active movement, while cosy areas provide opportunities for quiet time. Resources support social interaction, experimentation, and emerging self-help skills.

Preschool / Kinder Rooms (3-5 years)
Preschool rooms at Guardian are vibrant, stimulating spaces that prepare children for school and beyond. With more complex resources, they feature a variety of learning spaces that encourage problem-solving, creativity, and collaboration. The environment is designed to foster independence, resilience, and confidence, making preschoolers feel ready for their next big step.

Permanent Learning Spaces
Guardian rooms are planned around learning outcomes. They include up to eight Permanent Learning Spaces – thoughtfully designed areas that encourage different types of play and exploration, using age-appropriate, high-quality resources. These include:
- Constructing – discovering shapes, balance, and problem-solving through building.
- Pretending – for imaginative role play where children explore different characters, scenarios, and social interactions
- Reading – cosy nooks filled with books that encourage a love of stories.
- Coming Together – a place to share ideas, collaborate, and connect.
- Being Cosy – quiet areas for rest, self-regulation, and reflection.
- Communicating – supporting children develop language, express ideas, and explore different ways of connecting with others.
- Creating – art, craft, and open-ended materials to build their creativity
- Manipulating – hands-on play that develops fine motor skills, focus, and persistence.
Outdoor Spaces
Our outdoor environments are designed to be safe, engaging, and suited to each child’s stage of development. Most Centres have a separate outdoor space attached to the Nursery rooms.

These spaces inspire children to be active – climbing, running, and exploring nature – while discovering more about the world around them. With bike tracks, sand pits, vegetable gardens, cubby houses and climbing equipment, each day becomes an adventure.

Dining and Mealtimes
Most of our centres feature dedicated dining areas that are calm, welcoming, and designed to feel like family mealtimes. With child-sized tables and premium furnishings, these spaces encourage social connection, independence, and a positive relationship with food.
Families often join us to share a meal with their children.

A Home Away from Home
Every environment in our centres is more than just a classroom – it is a premium space, thoughtfully designed to feel like a safe and welcoming second home. Soft furnishings, natural textures, and homelike features create comfort and familiarity, allowing children to relax, build confidence, and flourish.
Inviting entrances and family meeting areas complete the Centre experience.

Learning That You Can See
We want you to experience your child’s learning journey every day. That’s why you’ll see careful documentation of their learning displayed on walls in each room, showcasing the creativity and collaboration that happens here each day.
