We’re excited to share some important updates across our Guardian childcare centres to make them even safer and more nurturing for children – from the nursery right through to preschool / kindergarten. Keeping children safe is at the heart of everything we do, and here, we’re taking the opportunity to share our ongoing efforts to strengthen everyday practices.
Is Guardian Childcare safe?
We’ve enhanced our digital sign-in system, making drop-off and pick-up even more secure and efficient. This ensures only pre-authorised parents and carers can complete the process, while giving our teams a clear, real-time record of every child in our care. Alongside the technology, we continue to focus on the personal handover; those warm conversations between families and educators that help us understand each child’s needs for the day.
What are some of Guardian’s safety measures?
You’ll find out Our Look, Do, Tell framework in action across each of our centres. It’s a simple, effective approach that gives both children and educators practical tools for staying safe.
- Look at what’s happening around you
- Do something if you notice a risk or someone needs help
- Tell a trusted adult or team member straight away
For children, it’s empowering and easy to understand. For educators, it provides a clear and consistent way to respond calmly and quickly when needed.
How does Guardian manage food safety and allergies?
Every meal and snack at Guardian is freshly prepared by our Cooks and Chefs, following strict food safety standards. We’ve now strengthened our allergy management processes too, with clear (and discreet) displays in kitchens and meal areas to make sure each child’s dietary needs are met with care and respect. Families can feel confident that mealtimes are both safe and enjoyable for their child.
Personal care with safe, warm connections
Our digital platform is used to record nappy changes and toileting, giving parents real-time updates through our communication app. Our expert day care teams continue to follow rigorous hygiene practices, while also treating these moments as opportunities to connect, through singing songs or quiet conversation, so children feel comfortable.
How does Guardian keep children safe on excursions?
We know that excursions are an important way for children to connect with their community and the world around them, outside of our early learning centres. To ensure safe adventures, we’ve strengthened our risk assessments, increased educator-to-child ratios, and ensured teams are always equipped with high-visibility vests, first-aid kits, and updated contact lists. These measures allow children to explore with confidence, with their safety always the first consideration for our dedicated educators.
A shared commitment to your child’s safety
For families, these safety initiatives at Guardian Childcare mean extra reassurance that every part of your child’s day, from drop off to pick up, is supported by strong safety measures. Most importantly, it reflects the strong partnership we share with families. By working together, we create environments where children feel safe and supported.
