A role at Guardian can take you on an exciting career journey

In choosing Guardian Childcare & Education you will be joining a community of early childhood professionals who are passionate and committed to the care, education and development of children in their early years.

Grow with us, as they grow with you

Working with Guardian is a rewarding, inspiring and challenging experience where each Educator is treated with the same care and respect shown to the wonderful children at our centres. With clear learning and development opportunities, Guardian offers you a career, not just a job.

Guardian’s own Curriculum focuses on contemporary early years thinking and practice. The Curriculum is brought to life through our resources, environments and our Educators who extend children’s natural interests and abilities. We provide meaningful learning experiences that truly benefit every child’s development and, in return, rewards our Educators.

We recognise that learning is a lifelong journey, and we encourage and support our team on that journey of development throughout their career with Guardian.

Guardian gives you the opportunity to progress into a variety of roles both within our centres and in Support Office. Through our professional development opportunities, consistent growth and supportive team, we encourage you to grow your career with Guardian.

We want to develop our Educators to understand families’ aspirations for their children, to confidently communicate how their children are progressing and how families can be involved in their child’s development most effectively. If you’d like to work with and learn from some of Australia’s most passionate and experienced early childhood Educators in a company committed to providing our children with the highest quality learning experience, please search our latest positions.

Professional Development Opportunities

At Guardian, we recognise that learning is a lifelong journey, and we support our team on that journey of development throughout their career with us.

There are many avenues for professional development at Guardian – whether it is at our professional development days, through a financially and practically supported Bachelor course at university or simply through informal learning at our workshops – whatever your professional development looks like, we have a pathway.

Below are just a few examples of some of the opportunities available to you should you join Guardian Early Learning Group.

The Guardian Diploma

The Guardian Diploma in Early Childhood Services is just one way we support our Educators to develop in their career. This 18-month program has been designed to allow Educators to undertake a high-quality Diploma during work time to support their growth within the context of the Reggio Emilia approach.

Degree Program

Our degree program supports Educators who enrol in a Bachelor of Education – Early Childhood degree through paid study leave, paid practicums, support from experienced mentors, networking opportunities and reimbursement of a percentage of tuition fees.

Educator Days

Our annual or bi-annual Educator Days are professional development sessions provided to inspire, entertain and inform our Educators. These days are also a great opportunity to socialise with Educators from around the state and are a valuable contribution to your overall professional development.

The Guardian Pedagogical Exchange

Our Guardian Pedagogical Exchange in Melbourne is a centre of learning and collaboration for Guardian Educators and staff. This is where we run workshops, seminars and training sessions but it is more than just a training space – with a library, café, art spaces and materials exchange, it is where Guardian Educators are encouraged to meet and exchange ideas, network and learn about what is happening in our sector. We have plans to add more pedagogical institutes in both Sydney and Brisbane in the coming years.

Workshops and Short Courses

We continually offer short courses and workshops to Educators and staff at Guardian. These may include topics that are specific to our sector or are general skill development opportunities such as:

  • Practical National Quality Framework Training
  • People Leadership and Change
  • Centre Management Development
  • Assistant Manager Fast Track Training
  • First Aid, Anaphylaxis and Asthma Care
  • Child Protection Training

Peer Meetings

Collaboration is important at Guardian; therefore we meet regularly to share knowledge, information and celebrate achievements.

International Expert Guest Presenters

At Guardian, our educational philosophies draw from early learning centres, institutions and experts from all over the world. We regularly host international guests and encourage our Educators to join us at Guardian sponsored events to learn from some of the best early years Educators in the world. Past guests have included Andrea Sisbarro and Alison Maher from Boulder Journey School, former athlete Wayne Pearce and speakers from Reggio Children.
