Celebrating our Stars: The Aspires Awards return
The Aspires Awards are back for 2024 – with even more opportunities to recognise our incredible teams of educators!
We know that people who work in early childhood education and care roles make such a difference in the lives of young children. Their days are spent doing such important work – supporting the children in their care to create a lifelong love of learning.
Here at Guardian, we believe it’s important to celebrate and openly appreciate the amazing early childhood educators who work across our Centre teams. We know that even a simple ‘thank you’ or a ‘well done’ each day can make someone’s day. These small words spread positivity and the important sense of being appreciated.

It’s something we get really excited about every year with our Aspires Awards – an event that really highlights our belief in the importance of appreciating and celebrating both teamwork and individual efforts.
Taking place this year in August in Melbourne, the Aspires Awards are our sector-leading annual awards program. These awards recognise the great work done by people at different levels across Guardian.
The Aspires Awards go beyond simply ‘a pat on the back’.
It’s much more than just an award presentation; The Aspires are the symbol of our commitment to celebrating those that are positive, brave, thoughtful and professional in their work each day.
And the best part? We make sure both individual and team efforts are recognised with our Aspires Stars and Aspires People categories. Nominations are based on our Guardian mindsets and selected through a nomination and voting process.
The Aspires Stars and The Aspires People: Showcasing our superstars
The Aspires Stars encompass six award categories recognising incredible people who shine bright in their roles, including Centre of the Year, Reconciliation Award and The Aspires Innovator.
We genuinely believe that every role in our Centres contributes to making Guardian the amazing place that it is. And this is exactly what the Aspires People category is all about. It includes awards such as Educator of the Year, Teacher of the Year and Centre Manager of the Year.
Two new categories to recognise more amazing work
In 2024, we’ve introduced two new awards to highlight even more outstanding contributions: Lead Educator / Teacher of the Year and Casual of the Year. These additions reflect our commitment to celebrating the diverse talents and dedication within our team and ensuring that everyone who contributes has a chance to be recognised.
Winners are announced at our ‘night of nights’ – the Aspires Awards dinner and awards ceremony! These Awards give us a great opportunity to take some time to reflect on the amazing work being done across the Guardian network.
We can’t wait to celebrate so many of our stars again this year.
