Welcome to our Centre

Guardian Childcare & Education Barangaroo is conveniently located in the Sydney CBD, ideal for families working in the city. Families can access the highest quality childcare centres and childhood education close to work, meaning less time rushing around and more time with your child. You can enjoy that extra time together and a 5-minute drop-off before heading to work.

Our Barangaroo childcare centre offers:

Our Barangaroo childcare centre has an open-plan area featuring a wet/dry creek, bark pit, climbing structures, hills, and age-specific play areas. Children are encouraged to explore and learn everything from balance to social skills in these exciting, resource-rich environments. 

Children have the unique opportunity to experience the city up close with daily excursions in the local area including to Barangaroo reserve, museums and the aquarium.

Our early learning centre at Barangaroo is located close to Sussex Street and Wynyard Station and welcomes children from 6 weeks to 6 years old. We have a dedicated Baby Ambassador in our nursery room to help ensure that your child’s experience with us is a positive one that your whole family can enjoy. 

Children and families also have the added benefit of a two-year Preschool Program led by degree-qualified Teachers who are there to help prepare your child for the exciting transition to school.

Our on-site Cook prepares five nutritious meals and snacks using seasonal ingredients every day. To further explore food at our Barangaroo child care, our community-minded Educators host weekly cooking classes for the children to help enhance their understanding of good nutrition. 

The children are often involved in preparing their menu and enjoy working, cooking and chatting with our chef through the open window to our dedicated kitchen, creating more rich learning environments for children. 

The team our Barangaroo long day care centre uses the family communication app StoryPark to stay connected and ensure families are updated about what’s happening each day.  

The NSW Government offers funding to provide families at our Centre fee relief of up to $2174 per child aged three and above, and up to $515 per year for children aged three. This support is in addition to the CCS and can help to lower your out-of-pocket fees.

The Guardian at Barangaroo is the first child-care centre that my son has ever experienced. At the end of each week, I become more impressed with every aspect this Centre offers. From the diversity in the fresh daily meals, to creative activities with paints, colouring and music, my son is receiving an enriched experience that is growing and developing him.I was blown away to see the Centre putting on a mini version of VIVID inside the nursery for the children to engage with. All of the nursery kids seem to love the lights, art and music that went along with the festivities. My child is 11 months and has already been exposed to Van Gogh!I love the consistent, daily updates on my son and seeing his progress throughout the week in a collection of photos and videos. He continues to be exposed to so many new experiences – Please keep doing exactly what you’re doing.

My child loves it here. The educators are fantastic, it’s clear that they put careful thought into the children’s daily experiences and they’re always so warm and welcoming to my child, which I’m sure is a big part of why she seems so happy. We also really appreciate the communications through Storypark about the group activities as well as my child’s milestones. She took her first steps at daycare and through the video shared with us, it felt like we were right there for such a special moment. I couldn’t recommend Guardian Barangaroo more highly.

I couldn't be happier with Guardian Barangaroo. Sending my daughter to daycare was hard to navigate yet Jess and Nicole made the whole process easy. The educators in Nursery are extremely skilled and just wonderful people. I know I chose the best daycare for my kid because when I pick her up, she doesn't want to leave! 10 out of 10, we love the ongoing support provided by the Barangaroo team from enrolling, to trials, transition, Nicole, Jess and all the educators have been so welcoming and supportive. We love how organised the centre is run, the caliber of the staff is next level. During the lockdown we got various call to check in how we are going, they treat us like part of family! Guardian Barangaroo is a fantastic centre - and I am so incredibly happy that my son is able to attend. Leaving your child in someone else's care is never easy. But at Guardian Barangaroo I feel completely comfortable that they give my son loads of love and support. The staff are understanding and friendly, and always give him a hug when if he needs it.

We love Nicole and the team at Barangaroo but more importantly, our daughter loves it. We can see how much effort goes into creating a caring, positive environment for learning and wellbeing; and we can see how effective that is by the fact Leila happily strolls in each day. After viewing many(!) daycares and still unable to decide on one, I knew Guardian Barangaroo was the right place for my daughter before the tour had finished. Nicole, the Centre Manager, knew all the kids names and they were all running to her to say hello or get a cuddle, and she happily obliged throughout the tour.The open plan layout of the center is light & bright (and genius) and ensures that there are always eyes on the LOs. My LO started out in Toddlers and has since moved on to Junior Pre-school, where she loves the Summer Learning Programme and the excursions exploring Barangaroo. But the thing that stands out to me the most is the relationships my LO has formed with her educators, which provides great peace of mind for us as parents. Somehow, in a sea of tiny humans they know my LOs personality, and what she responds to (even the educators that are not in her room).She's been experiencing separation anxiety at drop off and the educators have been supporting us through this by offering suggestions, and with superhuman patience. I genuinely feel that my LO has gotten the best start to her schooling here.Thank you Nicole & Jess & Jo, and every member of the Guardian Barangaroo team who have made this such a positive experience.

This place as an absolute godsend - after a nightmare experience with a previous daycare (i took my LO out after only one day in the old daycare), I was very hesitant to place my trust in another day care, and after spending weeks looking for an alternative, I finally visited guardian.. after speaking with Nicole and telling her about our first experience, she was very understanding and assured us that their approach would not allow for something similar to happen to our LO - she spent over an hour with us explaining why such a thing would not happen and how they handle different type of situations. So we bit the bullet and enrolled our LO, and oh how glad we are for biting that bullet! The way our LO reacted to the educators and the relationship that was built was tremendous. Although all the educators in the centre are absolutely awesome, I must call out Nicole and Sabrina, some of the best people I have come across - their approach, knowledge, understanding, patience, attitude (the list can go on and on) is one I can only admire. I am very gad I enrolled my LO (3.5 years old when first enrolled) in this centre, and would definitely recommend it to anyone needing daycare for their child. Great facilities and great environment.

Moving countries is never easy especially with a little one. Guardian Barangaroo has helped us overcome this giving us their best. The team was always there to help, they took my daughter’s case individually and resolved that-and they do this for every kid that goes there. Guardian Barangaroo rescued us when we needed them the most. And little did we know we will form bonds which will last a lifetime. Leaving my 6 months old with Guardian was assuring, comforting and rewarding. Its not just one person with Guardian but the entire community of educators, centre managers, other kids and parents which make it absolutely unique. They don't just give a safe and secure environment for our kids but a fun and happy place for them to learn new skills and play. My child is a happy confident little person, and it could not have happened without the contribution of committed and invested people at Guardian Barangaroo. We have transitioned from 0-1, 1-2 and not 2-3 and its smooth and always had my child in the centre of the decisions.its never easy or guilt free to leave you child with anyone but when I see my child rushing into the arms of educators and don't want to come back home, its a lot less. My children have been to a number of childcare centres, but nothing compares to the incredible experience my daughter has at Barangaroo. Incredible excursions, beautiful rooms and resources where she is inspired to learn. Chloe, Nicole, Kate, Sabrina, Tanya (the very talented chef) and the whole team are wonderful leaders, nurturers and genuinely care for creating learning experiences for all the children. Rhythm of the Day

We know children (and families) like routine. Whilst no two days of learning are ever the same - here's what a day at Guardian might look like.

Whilst no two days of learning are ever the same - here's what a day at Guardian might look like.

Handover time with children, families and our friendly Educators. There's a chance for conversation to share what's important for the day/what's happened the night before at home.

Breakfast time where families are welcome to stay and enjoy breakfast with the children.

As children are arriving and families are coming and going, there's an opportunity for play as well as family grouping, open-plan play and multi-age grouping.

There's an opportunity for children to come together and enjoy morning tea.

Following morning tea, the planned experiences continue. This includes both indoor and outdoor programs.

There's an opportunity for children to come together for lunch. With an open-door policy, families are able to join the centre for meals and excursion if they wish.

For children who want to, or need to, there's an opportunity to sleep, rest or relax. For children who don't need to rest, there are planned experiences, which are more likely to be outdoors.

Children come together for afternoon tea in small groups or with siblings (they can also rest and play together, too). This time also presents an opportunity to reflect on the day.

As families arrive to pick up children, there's an opportunity to speak to Educators and share information about the day.

Some centres offer early tea or light snack at the end of the day, which they can grab as they leave the centre. We’re mindful of how routines vary at home, so if throughout the day, we notice children look tired, food will be provided.

Our Centre team, led by our experienced Centre Manager Robert, prides themselves on creating a great sense of community for all families.

Each role in the Centre is designed to work together to help create a nurturing environment for every child in each of our learning spaces.

In our Nursery Room, the dedicated team has a special role in creating secure attachments, routines, and strong relationships. Unique to Guardian nurseries is our Baby Ambassador, who is your go-to person for you and your baby’s first 12 months with us. They will know every detail about your baby: how breast or bottle milk is managed, how they like to eat, their sleeping routines, the nappies they wear, and more. With babies as young as six weeks in the Centre, it’s the Baby Ambassador’s job to work with families and Educators to help make our Nursery feel just like home.

Our Educators across the age groups work together to create fun, stimulating, and age-appropriate experiences for every child in their care. They are dedicated, experienced professionals who are allocated to a specific room so they can get to know each child individually and support their learning and development.

As part of our 2-year Flying Start to School program, we have degree-qualified Teachers who use the latest teaching practices to help your child build essential practical and social skills, ensuring they’re ready for their next big adventure—school!

Each room has a Lead Educator or Teacher who is responsible for planning and implementing an effective ongoing cycle of planning, documentation, and evaluation of the room’s learning program.

At the core of the Centre is our Cook—make sure you check out their daily menu when you visit. They help make food part of the learning journey and love seeing how children respond to new and exciting flavours.

The team is supported by a strong Leadership Team, including an Assistant Centre Manager and an Educational Leader.

Every role at the Centre is as important as the next.

Great communication is vital in our collaborative partnerships with families at the Centre. We have a variety of different ways we communicate with you about your child’s learning and progress:

Our Flying Start to School preschool program is lead by degree qualified Teachers in a long day care setting. Our specialist two-year program is committed to supporting your child as they prepare for big school. We focus on nurturing their confidence, making friends and social emotional growth while also supporting their abilities in reading, writing, counting, and thinking skills. Whether it’s building with blocks, practicing their first letters, or learning to share with friends, every experience is carefully designed to support your child’s development.

Our Centre is a recipient of funding as part of the NSW Government’s Start Strong Program. Families can receive fee relief to reduce your out-of-pocket fees of up to $2174 per child aged 4 on or before 31July 2025, and up to $515 per year for children aged 3 on or before 31 July 2025. Out and about
