Guardian Early Learning Centre - Gungahlin

Guardian Early Learning Centre – Gungahlin is a childcare centre in Canberra committed to providing high quality care and learning for children. Our new centre has a team of enthusiastic and well trained educators who take pride in creating exciting learning experiences to foster children’s growth and development.

Literacy experiences is a strength here at Guardian Early Learning Centre – Gungahlin. Through creative arts (music and movement), storytelling, role playing stories and building connections with texts, children develop socially, cognitively, physically and creatively during their time at the centre.

A big family breakfast

Our educators are committed to building relationships with families and children. We’ve been holding family events to build relationships within our centre’s community which provides families with a chance to connect with one another.

Recently we held a big family breakfast which gave families an opportunity to chat with the educators, relax with their children and enjoy a nice breakfast at the centre. Our dedicated educators arrived at work at 6am to prepare for the brekkie feast! It was all worth it though because the breakfast was a great success!

Here’s what a few of the parents had to say about the breakfast event:

“Three cheers to all involved with the family breakfast this morning! THANK YOU all, it was yummy and lots of fun. Thank you.”

“Thank you Emma and the team for a lovely breakfast and catch up this morning. It is always good to be able to take time to talk to the educators and to meet other parents in a relaxed atmosphere, as we don’t always have a chance during drop-off and pick-ups. Keep up the great work everyone!”

Sustainability in the centre

Sustainability is a core focus at our centre and we engage with the children on a number of projects throughout the year including energy and water conservation initiatives. Recently we took part in Clean Up Australia Day and are looking forward to participating in more sustainability projects at the centre.

We also go on nature walks around the local area where children explore the natural environment and take regular trips to the recycling centre. Our centre pets—a budgie and two turtles—are popular with the children who are responsible for caring for them every day. It’s our goal that this connection with the land will encourage them to be responsible global citizens.
