Guardian increases wages for educators and teachers by 4.75%

At Guardian, we believe the people who shape children’s futures deserve to be recognised and valued.

That’s why we’ve increased wages for our Educators and Teachers by 4.75%, passing on the full increase from this year’s Fair Work Commission wage decision.

While Guardian has paid above-award wages to all Educators and Teachers for many years, meaning this increase did not automatically apply in the same way across every role, we made a deliberate decision to ensure our teams receive the full benefit.

For us, it was simple. The work our educators and teachers do every day matters, and it should be rewarded.

As Guardian CEO Warren Bright explains:

“Our teams do incredibly important work every day. They teach with purpose, support each child’s development, build confidence and help children discover what they are capable of. Families see, and really value, that work every day and so do we.

“Passing on the full increase is one practical way we can show that we value our team’s skill, care and professionalism.

“Cost-of-living pressures are also real for our teams and their families. We want Guardian to be a place where great educators and teachers feel valued, supported and proud of the work they do.”

Investing in the people who make the difference

We know that exceptional early learning starts with exceptional people.

When educators feel supported, respected and recognised, they’re able to do what they do best: create meaningful learning experiences, build trusted relationships with families and help children develop confidence, curiosity and a lifelong love of learning.

It’s why we continue to invest in our people through competitive pay, professional development, career pathways and a workplace culture built on collaboration and purpose.

As Warren says:

“Children thrive when they are surrounded by familiar educators and teachers who know them, understand them and believe in what they can become.

“That consistency matters. It helps children feel safe, confident and ready to learn.”

Our teams are at the heart of everything we do. This wage increase is one of the many ways we’re demonstrating our commitment to recognising the expertise, dedication and care our educators and teachers bring to children and families across Australia.
