Learn More About Our Centre

Guardian Early Learning Centres provide over 11,000 families across Australia with the peace of mind and confidence that their child is receiving the best education and care every single day. Providing long day care as well as vacation care, our 101 Collins Street early learning and childcare centre is no different.

Staffed by a team of highly professional and experienced educators, we provide a bright and inspiring space that caters to all interests and levels of development. Our multicultural educators bring a range of languages into the centre including Mandarin, Arabic, French, Greek, Pilipino, Indonesian and Indian.

We offer delicious, seasonal and nutritionally-balanced meals that are specially crafted by our in-house chefs to give children all the nutrients that growing minds and bodies need. Our family dining area encourages families to have breakfast with us (we provide a selection of cereals, toast, spreads and fruit) to help bridge the gap from home to care, creating quality family time and a smooth transition to the start of the working and learning day ahead.

Our unique curriculum prepares children for successful lifelong learning, and our specially designed indoor and outdoor environments have been created to promote learning, curiosity and adventure, as well as provide the space for all-important quiet time and rest.

We love taking our children out on daily excursions into the CBD and surrounds in our massive eight-seater prams. For these children, the city is their teacher and they love indulging in the culture and creativity the CBD has to offer. Excursions include visits to the library, art gallery, gardens, playgrounds, museum, cafes and even the graffiti covered lanes of the CBD.

We’re passionate about building relationships with all of our families, and believe that two-way communication is of paramount importance. So whether you have questions, feedback, or suggestions on how we can make the Guardian experience even better for you and your child, we’re always happy to have a chat and develop something that works for you. Our open door policy means that families are welcome to come in at any time throughout the day to play, feed or just to say hi.

Our bush kinder/care program offers children a great opportunity to experience nature through play based learning. This nature play challenges their gross motor, fine motor and cognitive development that can’t be matched with man made equipment. We provide ‘wet weather jumpsuits’ so that all children can experience nature, even in the wet, enjoying jumping in muddy puddles and dancing in the rain!

To find out more about the special experiences at our centre, please call our friendly team today on 13 82 30.

Meet our Centre Manager

Lauren Grenda

I hold a Bachelor of Early Childhood Education and 15 years of experience within the early childhood education and care sector.  I have held different positions within an array of services from volunteering in a Philippine orphanage, directing and leading a community bush-kinder kindergarten program, training and assessing adult students undertaking the Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care and delivering research to sector peers.

My personal philosophy mirrors Guardians. That is a true commitment to honouring childhood. When we do this, we are holistic in our approach and view the child as an active global citizen. I have a keen professional interest in the Reggio Emilia approach which greatly stems from my own observations through the ways in which children can express their ideas through symbolic languages (painting, sculpting, drama,) and the endless benefits of a strong community and enriching, educationally supportive environment for learning, growth and general wellbeing.  I believe in advocating for the sector and for all children to have access to best quality early childhood education and care.  Working with Guardian allows me do just this.

101 Collins has a happy and relaxed atmosphere, with highly skilled and professionals, this is evident as soon as you walk into our foyer. Our team is newly established and this creates innovation and creatively within the curriculum and learning space.  At 101 Collins, our program encourages and celebrates connection with many different aspects of the natural world and the community which we are active participants within. We are in the heart of an artistically vibrant and culturally diverse city which we take full advantage of by infusing this with our curriculum, we have adopted an ‘out and about’ program where children and educators partake in educational experiences with regular excursions to surrounding landmarks and parklands. We use these rich opportunities to develop relationships with others in our community, explore the surrounding areas, and partake in nature play. The learning at 101 Collins is truly endless.
