Welcome to our Centre

Welcome to Guardian Childcare & Education Oakleigh East, a modern, inviting childcare centre in south-east Melbourne.

At our Oakleigh East early learning Centre, early childhood education programs are focused on play-based learning, and we provide a nurturing and stimulating environment for children aged six weeks to six years of age, supporting them to discover the world in a safe and secure way.

Our Oakleigh East child care Centre is conveniently situated for families living in the surrounding suburbs of Oakleigh, Huntingdale, Chadstone, and Clayton. Located on Ferntree Gully Road, it’s close to major transport routes of the Princes Highway, the Monash Freeway and Dandenong Road.

Our early learning Centre in Oakleigh East is focused on providing an environment that allows children to learn through play. The early education learning programs are designed to encourage physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development appropriate to each age group.

Our exciting, resource-rich environments include:

  • Passionate Educators and university-qualified Early Childhood Education Teachers who focus on relationships with children and families
  • Beautifully designed learning spaces, Mandarin lessons and weekly yoga inspire curiosity, fun, and a sense of belonging
  • Four outdoor play areas with a wooden cubby house, herb and vegetable gardens, fruit trees and pet bunnies
  • Nutritious meals and snacks are prepared fresh, on-site by our amazing Cooks and Chefs
  • Our Centre provides nappies, SPF 50+ sunscreen, high-quality formula, and bed linen

Supported through a caring, dedicated team of University-qualified Teachers and Educators, our Oakleigh East child care Centre is an inclusive learning environment where a personalised approach ensures children are supported to be bold, creative, and curious in their learning journey.

We celebrate our culturally diverse team at our Oakleigh East daycare Centre with a variety of events throughout the year. Children go out and about on regular excursions to grow their connection with the surrounding community. We visit locations including the local nursing home, park, and local primary school.

Children attending our Centre will also have the chance to see the same familiar faces as they move on up from our nursery room, into our Oakleigh East Kindergarten program. This funded two-year Kindergarten program is designed specifically to help prepare your child to transition from early learning to primary school, and is aligned with the Early Years Framework.

The Victorian Government offers funding to provide families up to 15 hours of Free Kindergarten a week, in addition to the Childcare Subsidy. The funding offsets the fees for three and four-year-old children that are part of the Centre’s long day care Kindergarten program. Families will save up to $2,050 a year for children aged three years old and above in eligible long day cares in 2024. Ask us for more information when you visit our Centre.

As part of our unique Visible Learning Program, families will also have the chance to gain an understanding of their child’s learning. Easily accessible for families, our Learning Exchange Display provides the opportunity for our Teachers and Educators to share with you any updates on their progress every day. You will also have the chance to share with us your own personal goals and visions for us to implement, having direct input in your child’s educational journey!

Families will also be given access to our family communication app Storypark, where we will share with you any significant updates in your child’s day, as well as any other important updates that happen in our Centre–ensuring that you’re always connected, even when you’re not here.

Guardian Childcare & Education Oakleigh East provides a warm and welcoming environment that enhances early learning for children through meaningful play-based learning experiences. Your child will run smiling through our doors each morning – and greet you excitedly every afternoon with tales of what they’ve done that day. Because at Guardian, it’s all about fun, play and what they learn along the way.

Guardian Childcare & Education Oakleigh East boasts:

  • Friendly, dedicated educators supporting your child to learn, grow and thrive
  • Music and movement programs
  • Yoga
  • Multicultural programs and events
  • Cooking classes
  • Herb and vegetable garden

We foster children’s learning through a rich array of experiences that caters to each child’s unique interests. And we offer a range of additional benefits to help support you day-to-day.

Regular communication with you – The transparency between educators and parents is important, so we use an app called Storypark. It enables the Centre to provide real time updates to families, which is important for you but also supports open communication between the educators and the families. The focus is on providing children with plenty of opportunities and set them up for a lifelong love of learning. You’ll be kept up to date on our unique Visible Learning Program, which gives you a great understanding of your child’s learning for the day at pick up. It will give you plenty to talk about with them on the drive home!

Community connections – Fun and confidence-boosting local excursions for all ages, plus a wide range of cultures represented in our Centre to help you feel welcome.

Learn through play – With great resources and amazing indoor and outdoor spaces, your child will have the room to explore and flex their curiosity and creativity.

The best care at every age and stage – We welcome babies as young as six weeks, and work with families through the age stages until finally preparing our older children for the exciting transition to primary school with our leading Preschool Program. In fact, we have an amazing Nursery Team that includes a ‘Baby Ambassador’ who specialises in the developmentally appropriate care and learning of babies. One-on-one time and cuddles are prioritised for your baby, with the security of always having a familiar Educator close by who knows your baby.

Easy for families – Ample on-site parking, bus stops on our doorstep and a short walk to Caringbah train station, all adds up to convenience for those busy mornings and afternoons.

All the extras – Long care hours, support with the Child Care Subsidy and an on-site chef who prepares fresh and delicious meals each day.
