Learn More About Our Centre

Bird House Early Learning Centre is a beautiful, recently renovated childcare centre in West Pennant Hills with a leafy outlook backing onto a nature reserve, large outdoor play area with play equipment, sandpit, and plenty of areas for arts and crafts. There are dedicated areas for each age group learn and explore, and our outdoor areas are under cover, allowing for children to enjoy activities in any weather. Inside the centre is a quiet and calming cot room for babies, kitchen facilities where nutritious meals are prepared daily, dedicated bathrooms and nappy changing facilities, and rest areas for all age groups.

Our high ceilings create plenty of natural light within our centre, making us an open and welcoming space for children and families to come to every day. Children’s needs and interests are catered for as they are encouraged to explore and interact with each other, their environments and our educators. Our outdoor environment creates a natural space for children to play under the shade of a large tree and surrounded by a nature reserve, and our carpark is situated right in front of the centre, providing easy access for families to drop off and collect their children each day.

Meet our Centre Manager

I’m Emily Candy and I’m the Centre Manager at Bird House West Pennant Hills. I have been working in the industry for seven years now and have been a Centre Manager for over two years. The most rewarding part of being an early childhood professional is being able to shape the lives of young children. We help them to reach new milestones, make new discoveries, explore new experiences, take on new challenges, and learn all about life!

I believe that children learn best through play, and need to be constantly challenged and inspired, and the educators’ role is to ensure that they are providing this to the children. Children play an integral role in development the learning program at Bird House. Their knowledge, ideas, skills, culture and interests are the foundation of our program and they are supported to take ownership of their own learning.

I love Bird House because it has a real community feel. Our staff have been here for a long time, and many of the families know each other from the neighbourhood. I also love the location – a quiet cul-de-sac with a leafy backdrop of Bellamy Farm Reserve behind the playground. We have also just had some major internal renovations so the centre is looking absolutely beautiful!

When not at the centre, you can find me outdoors – going to the beach, bike riding, bushwalking – and also doing Muay Thai.
