Our centre is dedicated to providing a supportive and nurturing environment, and we are looking for an enthusiastic ISS Educator to join our team and support the needs of children with additional support requirements.
The Opportunity:
We are looking for a full-time ISS Educator to join our team on a contract basis. In this role, you will be working in our 3–4-year-old room, providing tailored support for children who need additional assistance to fully participate in the learning environment. As an ISS Educator, you will work alongside our dedicated team to ensure children receive the support they need to thrive, learning through play, social interactions, and meaningful experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the inclusion of children with additional needs in the 3-4-year-old room.
- Collaborate with the Centre Director, Room Leader, and the rest of the team to develop and implement individualised education plans.
- Provide one-on-one or small group support to children requiring additional assistance.
- Foster positive, respectful, and supportive relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
- Ensure the health, safety, and wellbeing of all children in your care.
- Assist in creating a stimulating, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
- Engage in professional development to continue growing your skills in supporting children with diverse needs.
Essential Criteria:
- A Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care (or equivalent).
- Experience working with children with additional needs (preferable).
- Passion for inclusive education and supporting children with diverse learning requirements.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with the team and families.
- Current Working With Children Check (WWCC) and First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
- Experience or willingness to support children under the Inclusion Support Subsidy (ISS) program.
