National Recover Specialist 

The National Recover Specialist will provide support within their team, Injured Team Members (TM), Centre Managers (CM), Portfolio Managers (PM) and General Managers (GM) requiring support throughout the management of the rehabilitation life cycle, including, technical advice in relation to Workers Compensation and the application of this in the early learning environment.

We are seeking a National Recover Team Specialist to work across our diverse teams, the specialist will be expert in workplace injury management, application, and practices, supporting the business and developing effective return to work strategies to ensure employees successfully achieve full recovery, lifestyle activities and wellbeing.  This position has a high level of engagement with the network, especially around early intervention.  In addition, the role supports the Recover National Lead by reducing overall claim costs, minimizing risk and enhancing premiums with managing the day-to-day process and technical advice.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Promotes early intervention post injury or illness.
  • Adhere to strict legislative timelines for lodgement of new claim as per state specific requirements.
  • Develop and monitor the implementation of return-to-work plans for Lost time/Restrictions. Review and maintain rehabilitation and return to work procedures, training programs and resources.
  • Coordinate and manage strategies to resolve issues blocking a successful return to work.
  • Communicate regularly with TM and CM during the return-to-work process and life of the claim.
  • Liaise regularly with, the insurer/claims agent, nominated treating doctor and any other stakeholder who may be involved in the claim.
  • Engage rehabilitation provider as required for more complex rehabilitation issues.
  • Ensure the injured employee’s workers compensation and return to work files are kept current, confidential and information is shared on a need-to-know basis.
  • Work in partnership with the team, Health Safety and Wellbeing Team (WH&S), People & Culture. Assist teams to ensure a seamless transfer of information between the centre and the business unit.
  • Liaise with relevant internal stakeholders to ensure Workers Comp Payments are met, Invoicing and Excess.
  • Contribute to the content of monthly reports ensuring integrity of data.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential:

  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in injury management and workers compensation management.
  • Current Return to Work Coordinator (RTWC) certification.

Desirable:

Tertiary qualifications in Injury Management or Health and Safety.
