Assistant Centre Manager / Educational Leader

We are currently looking for an Assistant Centre Manager who will also take on the role of the Educational Leader. Given the intimate size of our centre, with 38 places, we are seeking an individual who excels in an Educational Leader position and either has experience as a 2IC or someone who is ready for a new challenge, aspiring to grow their career by taking on the role of Assistant Centre Manager.

About the Centre:

Known in the local community as ‘Flinders Street ELC’, Adelaide is a 38-place centre situated on Flinders Street. Close to public transport and with street parking in the surrounding streets, our centre is accessible for both educators and families.

As the only inner-city childcare centre accepting children from birth to 2.5, our centre has strong community and parent connections.

Children get out and about on excursions, so we have a great connection with the surrounding community. We visit a variety of locations, including the Botanic Gardens, Rundle Mall, Adelaide Sustainability Centre, and the museum. We are proud to have a culturally diverse team and celebrate a variety of cultures and holidays throughout the year.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Centre Leadership Team: Create a safe and secure environment, fostering bravery, curiosity, and imagination in children’s learning.
  • Build Lasting Relationships: Forge meaningful connections with families, ensuring they are informed and confident in their children’s education and care.
  • Develop Quality Culture: Contribute to an exceptional culture of quality and safety, making Guardian the Centre of choice in your community.
  • Exemplify Guardian’s Mindsets: Be brave, positive, thoughtful, and professional, setting an example for Guardian’s work ethos.
  • Drive Business Performance: Develop skills to enhance business performance, enabling Guardian to invest 100% of profits into high-quality education for young children across Australia.

Requirements:

  • Diploma in Children’s Services and/or Bachelor of Education (or working towards)
  • Prior leadership or Educational Leader experience in a long day-care setting
  • Sound knowledge of NQF and EYLF
  • Budget and financial accountability experience (not essential) 
  • Current First Aid, Asthma, Anaphylaxis certificates, and Working with Children check
