Moroccan Beef and Pear Tagine
Packed full of goodness, this Moroccan Beef and Pear Tagine brings packs a flavourful punch, tried, tested and child-approved.
This recipe was provided by our wonderful Cook Carol at Guardian Preston West.
Ingredients
- 1kg diced beef chuck
- 2x carrots
- 1x brown onion
- 2x pear can
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 2 tbsp rice flour
- 1 tbsp Moroccan spice
- 1 tsp cinnamon/ nutmeg
- 2 lemons juiced
- 2 tbsp crushed garlic
- 1 tbsp crushed ginger
- ½ bunch coriander/ spring onion
Instructions

- Marinate the diced beef in garlic, ginger and lemon juice
- Brown the onions and garlic
- Toss the beef in rice flour and add to the pot with very hot oil
- Once the meat is brown and sticking to the pot, add the carrots, cinnamon, nutmeg and Moroccan spice, brown sugar and cook for a few minutes
- Cover with water and bring to a boil. Cover and simmer on low heat for another 30 minutes
- Add the canned pear and cook without the lid for another 15 min to reduce the gravy
- Garnish with chopped coriander and spring onions
- Serve with rice or couscous.
