Hulk’s Green Mac and Cheese

Hulk’s Green Mac and Cheese is always a winner, and Sophie has made this recipe extra-fun by adding a big dose of green vegetables. It’s the secret to why the Incredible Hulk is so big and strong! The perfect colourful and nutritious lunch option.

This recipe was provided by the wonderful Sophie at Guardian Mulgrave South.

Serves 4-6


  • 1 cup steamed peas or broccoli
  • 1 2/3 cups fresh spinach
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley
  • 250ml of milk, divided
  • 2L of water
  • 1/2 tablespoon salt
  • 2 cups elbow macaroni
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 3/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 3/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/3 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups white cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup mozzarella cheese


  1. Blend spinach, parsley, peas/broccoli, and 1/2 cup milk until smooth.
  2. Boil water with 1/2 tablespoon salt and cook macaroni until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a large pot, melt butter over medium-high heat. Add flour and stir until golden.
  4. Add remaining milk, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, pepper, and salt. Stir until smooth.
  5. Add cheddar cheese and stir until melted.
  6. Stir in the spinach mixture until well combined.
  7. Add cooked pasta to the pot and mix.
  8. Pour mixture into a casserole dish.
  9. Top with mozzarella cheese and broil for 5 minutes.
  10. Let cool slightly before serving.
