Maroubra Early Learning Centre on Smart Money

Well done to Guardian’s Garden Street Maroubra Early Learning Centre that was recently featured on Sky Business’ Smart Money program.

The show, presented by Planet Ark and Do Something founder, Jon Dee, explores how Australian businesses can help their bottom line and promote sustainability by being smarter with their energy and resources, focusing on key achievements and simple outtakes that other business can look to apply.

Michelle Bathgate, the Garden Street Maroubra Centre Manager and Jan Rajnoch, Guardian Early Learning Group’s Sustainability Manager, took Jon through the range of sustainability policies and practices the centre has initiated, highlighting the positive impact on the Centre’s energy costs and consumption.

The Maroubra Centre was the winner of the ‘Sustainable Schools’ Award in 2014 – a competition where early education centres and schools in the Randwick, Waverley and Woollahra Council areas are rewarded for their outstanding sustainability achievements.

Congratulations to Michelle and her team at Garden Street Maroubra. This is fantastic exposure for the Centre and a resounding endorsement of the wider sustainability practices Guardian continues to build.
