Guardian Centres Join the Rainbow Trail
8th May 2020
To bring some joy to their local communities, Guardian Centres across the country are joining the rainbow trail, decorating their windows and fences with children’s rainbow artwork and positive messages.
Here, eight Guardian Centres share their take on the rainbow trail, and how they are spreading joy beyond their Centre walls.
Guardian Pymble – Margaret, Assistant Centre Manager
“The Rainbow Trail has arrived at Pymble. We loved putting together this footpath mural for our children, families and local community to enjoy.”
Guardian Montmorency – Gemma, Lead Educator
“In recent weeks, our Educators and children have been discussing what to do to support one another during this difficult time. The children are always so excited to tell us about the different rainbow hunts that they have been participating in, so as a Centre we have joined in by decorating our front gate and walkway.”
Guardian Everton Hills – Kirbie, Centre Manager
“The children made this wonderful banner for the front entrance of our Centre. Happy Easter everyone. I hope you enjoy the four days of down time. Stay safe and take care.”
Guardian Springfield – Melissa, Early Childhood Teacher
“Feeling very proud of my kindergarten children and fellow Educators for bringing some joy and smiles to our families and community. I hope they enjoy seeing it as much as we enjoyed creating it. The children came up with the idea of using their hand prints and paint and were very excited to show their parents when they left today to go home. Remember, after every storm comes a beautiful rainbow. We are all in this together. “
Guardian Mentone West – Stacey, Lead Educator
“Our Wallaby class created a banner for the front fence to help spread the message of positivity in our community, which was added to by the kinder children. We also took the banner down to our babies room, where the children practiced their mark making skills on the piece of art, before hanging it up. Thank you to Min for coming up with the concept of the banner and for working with the Wallaby children to create a beautiful addition to our front fence.”
Guardian Hornsby – Olivia, Educator
“The preschool room at Hornsby got creative and we are loving the end result.”
Guardian Coorparoo – Bonnie, Educator
“Our Coorparoo team wants to challenge you. Let’s see if we can spread this positivity to our fellow Guardian Centres and the wider community with rainbow art and hopeful messages. Stay safe and keep smiling everyone.”
Guardian Laurimar – Lucy, Centre Manager
“After participating with their families in the rainbow trail around our local community, many of the children asked for our Centre to get involved. Lots of our lovely families have sent through pictures of their families at home creating rainbows together too. This week we have created a display bringing the community together, and we’ve even had a few shoutouts on the local community pages.”
