Educational Leader, Ellen Wonson is one busy woman. From completing her studies while working full time to planning a wedding, it’s non-stop for Ellen who works at Guardian Pymble. She was recently awarded the title of Educator of the Year at Guardian’s NSW Educator Awards Nights so we took two minutes with Ellen to find more about her career, why she thinks early learning is important and what superpower she would choose if she could.
Tell us a bit about your career background.
I started work in Early Childhood Education as a Certificate III Trainee when I was 18. Over the last ten years I’ve completed my Diploma in Children’s Services and Bachelor in Teaching (Early Education) whilst working full time in the industry. I have worked at Guardian Pymble for six years now and have worked in all of the age groups. I am currently Educational Leader at the centre.
Why did you decide to pursue early childhood education?
I have always been around children and genuinely love to see them develop and learn new skills so it was a natural career choice for me.
What’s the best part of your job?
